  1. That is crazy! Thank you for the review, I enjoyed it very much.
  2. There is also a forum dedicated to all things Celebrity. I remember seeing posts from people who actually keep spread sheets on pricing.
  3. Thank you so much for the review, it was wonderful. I hope to do this trip someday and your narration helped me a lot. A few years ago we did a Caribbean cruise after they had a hurricane go through and it was very sad to see all of the destruction.
  4. Take a deep breath and relax. I do all of the planning so I feel a lot of pressure. Once we are on board, most of my work is done.
  5. Having 'older' eyes, I like to increase the size of the screen. To search CC I need to make my screen smaller for me to see the proper search box. FYI I'm on a laptop.
  6. My wife's grandmother and my grandmother were both rather timid and not outgoing at all. When they met for the first time at our wedding, they both easily warmed up to each other. Let things play out and don't over think it. As you said they have met before and got along, so just relax and enjoy your trip. Since they are both immigrants, I'm sure there is a lot they can talk about.
  7. As others have said, try clearing your cache for Cruise Critic only. I did it on Firefox and it worked, I was careful to only clear CC. What a headache if you clear all. Below is how I did it: How to Clear Cache for One Site in Firefox. Open Firefox browser, click the Options icon at the upper-right corner, and choose Privacy & Security. Scroll down to find Cookies and Site Data section, and click Manage Data button. Select the target site, click Remove Selected, and click Save Changes button.
  8. Shrinkflation is here in a big way. *Sidebar* My uncle used to keep a few pints of his favorite liquor in the engine compartment, on family trips he often had to check the fan belts and odd engine noises. As a former restaurant employee who saw fellow servers bring extra food/drink to garner bigger tips, and literally saw chefs carry sides of prime rib out to their cars that had a cooler with ice, more data on the staff is a good thing. Hopefully it continues to get better and less obtrusive for all.
  9. We have done many and they were fine. The only issue was if we forgot to set an alarm, we would sleep in way to long because the rooms can be very dark.
  10. In my experience I have met folks who were much older than I and were very tech save. Then I have met folks much younger, that were severely lacking in tech knowledge. I do feel for those who decide to jump in and move forward with new technology for the first time. There is a lot of perceived knowledge that manufactures assume the customer will have, and if you are starting from scratch it can be very frustrating. And if this person decides to try and do some research online, they better know to filter their search results to the most current information or they will find themselves going in circles. For those who might not know, on Google right under the search box look for "TOOLS" click it and then on the left side of the page a drop down option called "Any Time" will appear and this will let you sort/filter many ways.
  11. Back in the day when I used to smoke cigars, I was at a restaurant that promoted allowing cigar smoking and of course selling cigars. I went to the bar holding an UNLIT cigar and the bartender came over to take my order and started coughing over and over. I laughed out loud and told them that it wasn't lit. They were not amused as I shared it with anyone within earshot at the bar.
  12. Not really any changes except a better flashlight and listen closer to muster drills. I also am one to be aware of my surroundings and exits. Our family was cruising when the horrible accident happened. Since I stay abreast of news on vacation, I knew it had happened but didn't share with the rest to not ruin their cruise. But on our last day they had the news on the big screen by the main pool and people were literally stunned, standing in place with their mouth's open. We also flew right after US Airways 1549 went down in the Hudson river and Captain Sully saved everyone. You know how the flight attendants give the safety drill on the plain every time? Everyone was dead quiet as they did it on our flight. Afterwards the attendants commented that it freaked them out, they were so used to people ignoring them. It was more than a little strange to fly right after that incident, in the airports and on the plains. Anyone else watch Air Disasters on the Smithsonian channel? I can only watch it when my wife isn't in the room, it freaks her out. It's amazing how some innocuous problem can bring down a plane.
  13. This sounds like a lot of fun. $500+ for two is spendy, but just doing a chef's dinner is also expensive and with this you get to go to the market and learn. I will definitely keep this in mind for the future.
  14. Before my hip replacement, my CBD cream was very helpful. If I were still using it and went on a cruise I would most likely bring it and not even think about the legality of it all. Good for you on checking. And I would be interested if a drug sniffing dog would be able to detect mine because the essential oil smell is VERY strong, my only complaint about it.
  15. January of 2000 I was 34 and it was our delayed honeymoon by 10 years. Celebrity Mercury for seven days with a balcony room, kind set the bar rather high. Boy did we have a blast and we were hooked. We looked at it as a once in a lifetime vacation and spent like it, then we booked another for the next year and then the next year and...
  16. Julie and I have something in common, I was born in Milwaukee and raised in Madison. Sorry to hear about the sea sickness.
  17. I enjoy singing karaoke, but in today's world I would be hesitant to sing in a mic that dozens have used. When I was on the radio and one of the announcers got sick, we all knew that it was just a matter of time before most of us were also going to be under the weather. As someone that has sang a few times in public, it really matters on the karaoke host and the equipment. Last two trips with Celebrity, my wife and I just passed.
  18. "The maintenance dept is now the engineering department" This one took me awhile to get through my skull.
  19. We have an in-home daycare so we know the Wiggles very well. We even have a Wiggles step stool in the daycare bathroom.
  20. We do run a couple of internet business's and would love to have better WiFi. BUT, I need a whole lot more input on how it works for others to be able to come up with a price I would be willing to pay.
  21. Maybe I'm trying to be positive, but I had the same thought, and (not to wish it on anyone) honestly hope that is the reason.
  22. Absolutely not just young people. I was on the Equinox sitting at a very busy bar that was three deep and an elderly lady sitting at a table 15 feet away yelled over everyone and screamed "I want it, when I want it, how I want it, and I want it NOW!!"
