  1. Drop off our bags and get our room keys, then head to the bar. We are sailing on the Silhouette this coming January and will most likely try to get a couple of seats in the crows nest at the back of the ship. Since we fly in a day before it is much less stressful and I genuinely feel that we enjoy the day, not like the couple of times we flew in the day of. Don't miss those days. It's all about decompressing and getting our vibe going and looking forward to meeting some awesome people. Have a great trip!
  2. Couldn't agree with you more. It has been the deadliest start to summer in a decade on Minnesota roads, according to Minnesota State Patrol. I picked up a cheap dash camera just because of these idiots and we drive very little (last year we drove 1,400 miles). I wish we taught people HOW to drive, NOT, how to pass a driving test.
  3. Just know you have company. I love that my current hearing aids have Bluetooth and I can listen to music/podcasts/videos/phone calls with them in.
  4. Thank you for sharing Jayred.
  5. Not sure if this will help, but I cheat a bit. I increase the font on the whole website by doing control/command +. It does hamper function some, for example when trying to do a forum search, so I need to decrease the font size, control/command -.
  6. Gerelmx, how did you know the current price when they were sold?
  7. Booked an Aqua room on the Silhouette and I just wanted to do a price check and it shows this category is sold out. Is it possible to figure out the current price? I did read on CC that Celebrity will not reprice your room in a sold out category. By the way, I spent way to much time searching CC and Google for the answer. Google was just Celebrity PR links and CC gives you results for every word you put in the search. I tried clicking on "all search terms" and that was no help. Thank you for your help.
  8. I want to say how sorry I am for those effected. I don't know how anyone who is dealing with this mess could not be livid. As my lovely grandmother would say, spitting nails. Based on what has been shared I would absolutely switch lines, or do some other type of vacation. My wife and I booked a trip for this coming January on the Silhouette and it is stories like this that make me nervous.
  9. We have a 10 day southern Caribbean winter cruise in six months and my wife and I are just planning to wing it. This will be our first cruise/travel in four years and we are looking forward to just relaxing and enjoying the ship. If we come across an idea to get off the ship, we will. Either way, we always have a great time.
  10. Very Minnesotan and I get it. I have one sport coat that is yellow and only wear it on vacation, I can't imagine wearing it here in MN.
  11. I have toyed with the idea of getting one for a loooong while, do you have a suggestion on one to buy? And thank you.
  12. (Minnesota here) 100% agree, I drive a 23 year old vehicle and I'm lucky if I can get the bolts loose let alone know if it is standard or metric because it is so rusty. Luckily I drive a Toyota product and a lot of it is a 10mm. Since parts come from all over the world, mixing of sizes is not going to go away until the good old USA changes. My father-in-law would not drive anything that wasn't "American made". I explained to him that the current climate is cars are made all over the world and that an American vehicle has hands on it from just that, all over world. I even used the fact that my John Deere (made in Illinois) uses metric and he said to stop talking about it.
  13. Well D.B., I guess we will just have to wait and see.
  14. It might be too late now, but I would book a third party insurance plan and not go through Celebrity.
  15. Like you I was wondering about a Concierge room and then came a cross a good deal on an Aqua room that was about the same price I had been seening for a Concierge room, so I nabbed it. It will be our first time in Aqua and are looking forward to it. The 'extra's' you get for a Concierge room just don't excite us.
  16. Showing my age here, when I was in grade school back in the 70's the metric system was going to be the new thing in the next ten years and it made perfect sense to me how it worked (still can't read a tape measure beyond the basics). My dad told me not to get too excited, industries would not let it happen due to the cost of retrofitting everything and they don't see a $$ upside to doing it. I'm sure there are other reasons why it hasn't happened, it's just too bad. That said, in a way it has. I have metric tools because many things I work on have metric parts, so it just makes things more confusing.
  17. Done it many times with our family. As said, there are usually a lot of kids. But, when you have kids your own it helps them have more fun and when you go in to your trip knowing this, it helps.
  18. That is why I wish all recipes were in grams. A can of diced tomatoes is less than it was years ago when the recipe was written.
  19. Glad it worked out for you. BTW, my son just got his masters in teaching and will start teaching English to 7th & 8th graders this September.
  20. If I am understanding this correctly, the Chef's Market is different than the Chef's table? I have a 10 day January cruise on Silhouette in the Caribbean and only see Chef's table available.
  21. SHRINKFLATION: It is a very real thing. Also, I swear they are making 2 ply toilet paper as thin as the old 1 ply.
  22. Just a little tip, for those that that plan to imbibe more on your vacation. Train ahead of time so it's not such a shock to your system.
