  1. That's just me being a "Mrs Kravitz" (from the Bewitched TV series many, many moons ago)! Tom and I usually spend quite a bit of time at the pub and enjoy (at least I do) people watching. On the Promenades, you can see from one end to the other but on the Esplanade, it's cut up/jagged and walls get in the way. No big deal, just an observation. We'll be on Odyssey for my 70th birthday in February and I'm sure we'll both enjoy being on Odyssey again!
  2. I originally compared Wonder to Odyssey after taking a picture of both of them side by side, which was the reason for my comment. I was not trying to compare it to Harmony at all, just that Wonder was very, very wide. When we cruised on Wonder, the Promenade felt a lot wider than the other Oasis class ships but it has been awhile since we've cruised an Oasis class ship; however, Wonder is a lot wider compared to Odyssey. Sorry for any misunderstanding. I know what I was thinking but probably didn't describe it very well. Forgive me, I'm getting older! LOL! Cheers! https://cruisespotlight.com/compare/royal-caribbean-wonder-of-the-seas-vs-royal-caribbean-odyssey-of-the-seas/
  3. I would pick Harmony over Odyssey just because of the Central Park and Boardwalk areas. The high tech shows are ok but I would prefer Grease, again and again. Also, prefer the nice Promenades on Oasis class vs the cut-up Esplanade on Odyssey, where you cannot view the Esplanade from one end to the other as the walls are jagged and not people-watcher friendly IMO. Personal preferences I guess! As far as the width, I don't believe there's much difference between these two, maybe a little. However, the Wonder of the Seas is another story! She is very, very wide!!
  4. Oh yeah, been there, done that! For the 1st leg of our B2B on Mariner, we had a regular balcony room and the bed was near the door. No way that scooter was going to drive around the bed. DH had to remove the "heavy" battery and picked up the scooter and placed it on the couch near the balcony. Since it was my own scooter, I didn't want to turn it over to housekeeping at night, so we elected to leave it in our cabin on the couch. I used my cane (walking very slowly) that week so hubby didn't need to keep getting the scooter out for me. I mainly need it to get on and off the ship ramps, or if it is a huge ship (Oasis and Quantum classes), I will use the scooter to get around the ship. I was really glad that we had an accessible cabin for the 2nd week of our B2B!! Good luck and happy cruising!
  5. In our experience, if you book on-line, you will need to pay for it up front. If you are to get a comped dinner, you will need to wait until you get on board. Unless someone else disagrees.
  6. Have always wanted to cruise for NYE, so Tom and I booked the Adventure from PC for NYE 12/27/24! Prices are cheap IMO if you care to join us! We added the following January week as well for a B2B. Have a fabulous cruise and enjoy spending NYE and your b-day on the ship!! Will definitely follow virtually!! Safe travels and Happy Holidays to you three!! Cheers! Sal & Tom
  7. The aft cabin you mentioned (7712) shows an obstructed view. If it were me and we had more than 2 people, I would go for a JS that is non-obstructed, especially the ones on the "hump", where you are able to see both ends of the ship. Freedom shows them on Deck 9 (if still available). IMO a "spacious" OV balcony is not that much bigger and not worth the extra money. So, in short, I would do a regular non-obstructed OV balcony or a JS, and try to get one on the "hump"! Happy cruising! Cheers!
  8. No idea but your post title says 1/31; NYE would be 12/31. We booked our first NYE cruise on Adventure for 2024-2025, so would like to know your answer as well! Cheers!
  9. No clue. Just said that cause I have not cruised on all of the ships, so left room for error. LOL!
  10. Sweet sentiment but had to laugh at your typo!! Hope you are enjoying the holidays and return to cruising soon!
  11. We've seen small kids turned away from the pool and/or hot tub when eating ice cream cones. Of course, I'd rather cruisers spill a drink or drop the ice cream vs something else!😲
  12. We were with a group of B2B'ers escorted off of the Mariner last October and usually the turnaround would only take just a few minutes. However, we were unable to re-board, along with the new group of scheduled cruisers, because we were told that they (crew) were still looking for previous cruisers who had not left the ship yet. Then, along came a young couple off of the ship amidst the boos of the waiting crowd. They were both smiling and taking their sweet time walking through the terminal. Once they got to security, they were both stopped for a search and the customs agents made them open up all of their luggage, probably to delay them as much as possible for making all of us wait to board the ship. So rude! Maybe it's now become a thing to be "the last ones to leave".
  13. Might have something to do with the winter blizzards and cruisers unable to get to the ship or return to their home states. Just guessing. Welcome to Cruise Critic!
  14. Depends on where you will be cruising in March. If in the Caribbean, the weather down there is usually great (70-80's). Most ships have a thermostat in each room, so you can adjust it as needed. I always sleep hot, so just wear a light nightgown to bed. Hubby wears socks to bed! LOL! Hope that helps!
  15. We just got off of the Wonder (December 11-18) and ate breakfast every morning at JR. Hubby had eggs cooked to order and I had the delicious egg, bacon and cheese sandwich! Not sure if the other Oasis class ships still do that or not but the Wonder served a "wonder"ful breakfast for us! P.S. JR was still complimentary as well!
  16. Wow! Not sure what to say about this. Hope it's not true and maybe was from a disgruntled crew member. Would need to know more facts for sure.
  17. Just asked DH if he wanted to change to traditional and he wants to continue with MTD. Maybe I'll try to reserve our time at 7pm, so won't have to wait so long. Not sure yet, so we'll see how it goes!
  18. When we go with a group, we buy the Dx package for the convenience and know we'll probably be indulging in the libations a lot more than normal.😉 When it's just the 2 of us, we like the refreshment package for the specialty coffees, frozen mocktails at the pool and bottled water, as the 5 D+ drinks are usually (but not always) fine for us. I only carry on the wine when we don't get the Dx package. We get a comped bottle of champagne for the room and usually take it home to pop open with friends/neighbors for the New Year's celebration! When we were on Mariner in October, we noted that they were serving champagne during the upper tier event but no mimosas, so I stopped at the Cafe for a bottle of OJ, took it with us to the event, and we made our own!! LOL!! The staff thought that was very clever!
  19. We don't like to eat early before 6pm or late after 8pm, so will continue to choose MTD with a set time usually at 6:45 or 7pm. Our group of 10 had 7-7:15pm MTD on Wonder last week and we were graciously accommodated with a large round table for 10 every night just as you enter the MDR on Deck 4, which we confirmed on the day we boarded. Going forward, it will just be be hubby and I, so will keep MTD, as it will be easier to get seated. We will board the Serenade next spring! Good luck with whatever you choose to do! Cheers!
  20. Hope they don't overbook them! Our group of 10 was on Wonder this week and had 2 casitas booked over a year ago. When they moved cruisers from the Harmony (I think) to the Wonder, they let them have the booked casitas and took ours away, notifying us the night before we were supposed to have them! RCI said it was a new IT system problem and they went by the date of the reservation, which is hard for us to believe since we booked them so far in advance. In any event, we should have been notified when we first boarded the ship at the latest, not the evening before we were to get them! Yes, we'll get a refund but this was pretty poorly handled. Even after that disappointment, a great time on board was had by all and would definitely cruise on the Wonder again!! Cheers!!
  21. LOL! We hated to see the beer and wine package go away.😪
  22. Not sure but it's probably a chance. They may confiscate it if it contains any alcohol. You can always try but be prepared to lose it.
  23. I've been hoping that the snowbird migration cruise from Canada sailing down the Atlantic coast all of the way to Florida that RCCL had done just before the pandemic would reappear in the itineraries. Anybody have any insight as to whether or not this might happen? I'm gettin' older pretty fast and really want to do this one! TIA!
  24. Correct. I always pick my own room; not that much more most times in my opinion and sometimes even less.
  25. Sorry to disagree with you on that. My hubby cannot be around smoke due to a medical issue and, if the smoker was smoking on a nearby balcony, we would definitely need to report it. Smokers need to adhere to the space(s) provided for them; I believe that it's rude for them to impact others health and well-being. Oh, and, yes, it should be addressed while on board, not after the fact.
