  2. Oh, and I also own a scooter but didn't want to put it on an airplane in case of damage, so chose to rent one. The one I have is 4 wheels which I believe is safe with less chance of toppling over. Not sure if the one I rented is 3 or 4 wheels but will find out next month. LOL! If 3 wheels, will make a note not to speed!!😲
  3. First contact special_needs@rccl.com telling them that you need wheelchair assistance at the pier to get onto the ship (I hate that ramp) and that you will be bringing a rental scooter. Book an accessible cabin if you can, as some scooters will not fit through a regular cabin door. Yes, scootaround will deliver your scooter to your cabin and you will leave it in your cabin when you leave; you can request wheelchair assistance to get off of the ship as well.
  4. Tom and I have 13 booked cruises through March 2025. Check my signature to see if you may be on any of them. Kay has not cruised since Covid due to other issues but is doing better these days and is anxious to return to cruising soon. She hasn't been on CC either and even forgot her password. LOL! I'm sure she'll be popping into CC fairly soon too. Hop on one of our booked cruises and sail away with us!
  5. I chose to rent my scooter from Scootaround. Pricing was similar for either.
  6. This is the letter I got from Celebrity and I think RCCL would use the same companies for scooter rentals. They do not rent them directly from the ships. Here is the letter: Thank you for contacting the Access Department regarding you wanting to rent a Scooter and Pier Assistance. We understand that you may require additional assistance during your embarkation on the ship due to your mobility condition. We are pleased to inform you that we will provide wheelchair assistance during the embarkation process. Our team will be waiting for you at the cruise terminal with a wheelchair to assist you in boarding the ship. we will also provide any additional assistance that you may need to ensure a smooth and comfortable embarkation process. Also, we kindly ask you to speak with Guest Relations desk once onboard to arrange the disembarkation assistance at the end of your cruise.Wheelchairs and scooters must be stored in your stateroom, so fire doors, corridors and elevators are kept clear for emergency evacuation. For standard staterooms, wheelchairs and scooters must fit through a 24-inch stateroom doorway. For accessible staterooms the doorway is at least 32 inches wide which may accommodate larger devices. If you have a wheelchair or scooter larger than 32 inches wide, please let us know. Please note, crewmembers are not permitted to lift power wheelchairs or scooters, however, they will aid with folding manual wheelchairs, walkers, canes. If you need to rent a wheelchair or scooter please call:Listed below are two preferred providers you may contact:Scootaround (formerly Care Vacations): 1-888-441-7575 or 1-204-982-0657Special Needs at Sea: 1-800-513-4515Your reservation has been noted accordingly.Have a great cruise! Bon voyage, Best regards,Michele PetersonAccess Advocate Hope that helps!
  7. I'm not trying to stir the pot either but would like to know where you got that info. I was always told that the free vouchers did not include gratuities. Sorry for erupting a sore subject. Please tell us where you got that info.
  8. You can give anyone of legal drinking age a drink with your vouchers but I would ask them to be sure to tip the waiter/bartender since the vouchers do not add gratuity. Just my opinion on tips. Cheers!
  9. Totally agree with @BecciBoo! OMG! Just googled the Dyson Airstraight and price is around $500.00!😲 What happened to $20 hair straighteners? LOL! Glad my hair is very short and manageable with a round brush.😉
  10. Yep, you are correct! I finally found it on RCCL's site: Candles, Incense, Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, Travel Steamers & Hot Plates. (Items that generate heat or produce an open flame. This includes heating pads, clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense, and any other item that may create a fire hazard. NOTE: The only exception to this policy is curling irons and hair straighteners. Matches and normal lighteners are allowed onboard. However, "torch lighters" and novelty lighters that look like guns are not allowed onboard. Torch lighters emit a powerful concentrated flame, and therefore are prohibited. Enjoy your cruise! Cheers!
  11. I didn't think any kind of irons (hair or clothes) were allowed on board RCCL ships; however, I could be mistaken. They may have overlooked it on your previous cruise. I'm looking at ship's policies, trying to find out.
  12. I tried to get you out of the hole but I think you just dug your hole a bit deeper.🙄 Cheers!🥂
  13. To quote @BND "Very poor work ethic in some." I believe that to mean "some" people, not all, so I'm giving him a break there. I, too, have seen that happen in "some" circumstances; please don't take offense, as I don't think it was meant to offend you hard working folks.😉
  14. You're very welcome and welcome to Cruise Critic! Hope you have an enjoyable cruise vacay!!
  15. If you want to chat with fellow cruisers going on your cruise week, go to this roll call page for Enchantment, locate your cruise date, and get into the conversation. Cheers! https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/172-enchantment-of-the-seas-roll-calls/
  16. I cannot say yes for sure, as I have never tried that; however, I would think that you could do that. Definitely stop at any of the restaurants as soon as you board and ask that question before you make reservations. Bon appetit and bon voyage!
  17. Question: The ones that you say have said that they "prefer this system", do they know that you removed their auto gratuities?
  18. My brother has an ATV excursion booked in Maui, so I let him know about the fire. I just wanted more people to know about it in case they have anything booked for Maui and didn't know about the fire.
