First time cruisers- Coco Beach Club Cabana and Pass
SilkySal replied to Libast's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If a cabana was purchased at the beach club, the price includes day passes for up to 8 people, so, unless they have 8 people you could join them and help pay the price. If they have 8 people, you would need to buy your own day pass and could probably visit them in their cabana or they may be able to add you to the cabana for an extra fee. This is not based on experience; however, so maybe someone else knows for sure! Oh and welcome to Cruise Critic! -
I have been taking my scooter with me on the ship, so I have it when needed. I also can walk with a cane but not long distances. Most port terminals before you board the ship will have scooters for rent. The ships do not allow its wheelchairs to leave the ship; however, I have seen golf carts and small shuttles on the piers at most ports to transport those who cannot or prefer not to walk the long length of the pier.

I think that 20 minute window has narrowed to 5-10 minutes. I suggest you talk to the MDR manager to ask if you can be later. They need to turn the early seating tables over for the late seating. If the early seating diners stay later than expected, the late seating diners would have to wait for their table at their assigned time. That would be rude in my opinion. Sorry, but good luck! Cheers!

She completed the first step by filling out the RCCL special needs form. Next steps are talking to the managers of the MDR and the WJ as to your special needs; I have heard that they can and will offer to cook low-sodium food for you if it's not readily available in the buffet. If dining in any specialty restaurants, your food will be prepared and cooked how you like it. If you are a Diamond or above member with RCCL, and/or you are in a "suite" for your cruise, your Diamond and/or Suite concierge can certainly take care of all of this for you! Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Happy cruising!

Just checked the cabana price for our upcoming cruise and it indeed says 6 people max. It still may be cheaper to get the cabana vs 6 day passes. We enjoyed having a place to put our "stuff", as well as the cabana attendant brings food and drinks directly to your cabana!

Check prices for individuals vs getting a cabana inside the water park to put all of your stuff. DH and I had a water park cabana awhile back and, to my recollection, it included 8 water park passes, not 6. So, getting a cabana may be well worth it for you! Doesn't hurt to check. Enjoy!

4 Nights on Oasis: A trip report / cautionary tale
SilkySal replied to LisaLisa87's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I will say that I was glued to reading all of your first post on here! I was so afraid that your sis was going to be too late to board the ship! So glad you both made it! I was on the edge of my seat! LOL! -
Yes, lots of all inclusive on the island, pools, food and shade! Only pay for water park, upscale resort area, some loungers with umbrellas, day beds, snorkel equipment, balloon ride, etc. Ship drink packages can also be used at bars on the island. You can enjoy the island all day without paying a dime, if you so choose! Cheers!

New RCCL Visa Promotion - 4x points
SilkySal replied to MM4M's topic in Royal Caribbean International
A friend and a great TA told me about it the last weekend in April, so I was lucky enough to pay off several cruises through February of 2024 including a long Panama Canal cruise! Lots of points to use for OBC! Very happy! Cheers! -

Utopia of the Seas Blocks Are In The House!
SilkySal replied to Lloyd555's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It just fascinates me how all of the ugly, rusted pieces can be transformed into such a beautiful ship! There are a lot of awesome engineers and ship builders out there! Very much looking forward to hearing more about Utopia! Thanks for the updates! -
UDP is not available before cruise
SilkySal replied to flukemaster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I was wondering why you hadn't had any answers to your post. Now, I know. I, for one, cannot believe that you cancelled your cruise over their failure to let you know if and when the UDP would be available. I really don't know what to say to you, other than you may be that person who always sweats the small stuff. There is no perfect cruise line, so maybe cruising is just not for you. DH and I have had no bad cruises; some were better than others but none were terrible and service has always been outstanding on Royal Caribbean. Don't mean to anger you even more, as I am sorry your experience with Royal was unacceptable to you. If this happened to me, I would still very much enjoy my cruise. Have a better day! Cheers! -
Just hurry and book some more, so you have something to forward to!! Don't feel sad about the last one; feel good about the next one!! Cheers!!

Couple of Silly Questions on the DBP
SilkySal replied to bar1068's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Usually 15 minutes between alcoholic drinks and, yes, they'll do floaters (tip well)!! Love that Kraken rum floater on my Pina Coladas!! -
Normally, formal nights are on the 1st and last sea day (but never on the night before returning to port); there will still only be 2 for an 8-nighter. IMO, a "spacious" OV is not worth any upcharge; however, a JS bid, even at $150pp, would be worth a shot if you'd rather have a tub vs the tube shower, as well as the upgraded toiletries for the shower. On the other hand, the "hump" balconies have great views of both ends of the ship!! Enjoy your cruise! Cheers!
