  1. I checked my booking on the Ray and the new prices are on that ship also.
  2. Having started this thread, I am now convinced that the cost for La Dame, for now only on the Nova and Ray, is $320 per couple. For me, at that price, I do not feel like I am getting a good value. Actually, I feel like I am getting ripped off!! We did enjoy La Dame in the past at $120 per couple. At the new and improved price, La Dame will not be seeing us. Currently, we have 5 SS cruises booked and 2 Regent cruises booked. I do only look at the newer ships on both and try to be a "bean counter" when trying to decide which cruise line to go on. I enjoy both lines but this pricing issue is giving me heartburn. On the 8-21-23 Nova cruise, we booked La Dame twice at $120 per couple and the reservation was confirmed. Now they change the price and don't notify me on the new rip off price. That is not "kosher". Yes, money is important, but feeling like I have been treated fairly is also important. As an aside, I did email the person that Barbara M. gave me for these types of issues and I never got a response. Nice customer service. I am just glad I caught this before my cruise and getting the tab at our first dinner in La Dame.
  3. I am sure they are Louie sweatsuits and you are not allowed to actually sweat in Louie sweatsuits. Them's the rules!!
  4. We are on the Nova 8-21-23 and had booked La Dame for two nights prior to the price increase. I wonder if they will honor the old price since that is what it was when I booked it. I have emailed somebody at SS that Barbara put me in touch with. I will report back when I hear.
  5. The SS website still shows the old prices. I hope this is an IT snafu as we really like La Dame but only at $60 pp.
  6. If it is wine pairing, it better be Silver Oak and Dom!!
  7. I have five future cruises booked and for the new ships, Nova and Ray, the cost for La Dame is $160 per person and Kaiseki is $80 per person. On the older ships, the cost is $60 pp La Dame and $40 pp for Kaiseki. Something is up??
  8. We are on Nova 11-18-23 and have not been able to make ressie's for La Dame since the window opened. Just now, I can finally make a dinner ressie on La Dame but the cost is $320 for two- it ain't the French Laundry. That was for 11-20-23. When I go to 11-26-23, La Dame does not even show up. What's up??
  9. I think that people with small children that behaved themselves are the ones posting their opinions on this forum. I don't see one post from parents/grandparents that had children that didn't behave, posting about their experience on this forum. I think you will only get one side of the story on this forum. That's my story and I am sticking to it!!
  10. I remember staying at the Caribe Hilton about 15 years ago. The hotel and setting is lovely but the front desk warned us to not walk away from the hotel grounds because of crime. Always take taxis. That was enough for me- I never went back.
  11. Me thinks, follow the Benjamin's!!
  12. JP- you look different with a beard!!
  13. You will love the hotel and location.
  14. We upgraded our hotel room last Nov in Lisbon. We dealt directly with the hotel and paid the difference.
  15. I am on the second Nova cruise- in the words of Alfred E Neuman- "What, me worry?"
  16. We board the Nova on 8-21-23. 31 days before we see the new ship. Very exciting.
  17. We are on the Nova Nov. 21, 2023 and today we can book our dinner ressies. I was able to book all the restaurants except La Dame and Kaiseki. They did not even show up as possible choices. Has anybody else had this problem? Thx/
  18. We tip in US dollars or Euros. We are modest tippers so $5 to $10 PP depending on the length of the excursion. I know, call me a cheapskate!!
  19. If the excursion guides do a good job, please tip them as they really deserve it. Regent does not give them any tips.
  20. This is part of the reason that we do SS over Regent. Regent "invites" children with special pricing. SS never seems to do this. If we do a Regent cruise, we try and do it when the kids are in school but that is not a guarantee.
  21. I find this current "sale" from SS a non-starter for us. The two category suite upgrade only means you get the same size cabin in a different location- a nothing burger. Lower deposit- huh! Is that supposed to be a big deal. The only part that makes any difference us is the $1,000 SBC. As we usually get $350 SBC, now we could get an additional $650. No much of a "sale" IMHO!
