  1. The devil is in the details- in the fine print, the airfares are not locked in and SS can change an additional cost if fares go up. I have not experienced this or heard of others that experienced a higher cost.
  2. When I see RSSC promo about "kids cruise free" or at a discounted rate, I run the other way and would NEVER book that cruise. When our kids were young, we took them on the main line cruiser companies with lots of activities for kids. Just my $.02 worth. Different strokes for different folks.
  3. I don't think these items are provided. Somebody else can correct me.
  4. Excellent analysis of this thorny subject. Thank you for taking the time to research this. I will be on the Nova 8-21-23 and looking forward to the new ship. Bon voyage!!
  5. No socks here in the desert also for 2/3 of the year. Actually, most wear the little socks that are not visible so it looks like no socks.
  6. A shirt is optional as it is not in the dress code- whatever floats the boat. Socks are also optional.
  7. If somebody tells you, then they have to kill you. It seems to be verboten on this website!
  8. I believe the "formal optional" is only for 7 day or less cruises. At 8 days or more, there will be "formal" nights that are supposedly not optional. Last year on two cruises, Moon and Dawn, for formal nights I wore black slacks, a Black sportcoat and a tie and didn't have a problem anywhere on the ship. I did see people going into Atlantide without a sports coat and they were given extra sport coats to wear. Put the coat on your seat back if you are too warm.
  9. I have never heard of that for Regent, SilverSea or Seabourn.
  10. I just saw a facebook post from Barbara Muckerman stating that they used a different supplier for the Nova. I think I am still good to go 8-21-23 out of Venice on the Nova!!
  11. Having connected through there last summer, I would want a 2 hour between flights.
  12. I got reimbursed since we have no Blacklane in our sleepy little town of Tucson- darm!!
  13. We are boarding the Silver Nova on Aug. 21, 2023 (second official cruise for Nova) in Venice. We booked D2D (Bus Air) and originally flew to Heathrow and then on to Venice. I try to avoid Heathrow for connections whenever possible, but such is life. A few days ago, I got a new routing from SS and now we are connecting in Philadelphia with a direct flight to Venice. We are flying out of Tucson AZ. Post Covid, this is our third D2D with SS business air. So far, I love the SS Air desk. The return is easy going Florence, Paris, LAX and then Tucson. I can hardly wait to see the Nova in person!!!
  14. Did they ask your husband if he was pregnant??? It is a new world.
  15. If it was me, I would contact my TA and have them get this worked out.
  16. All good right now. The only wrinkle is that I have silver status and my partner has bronze. On one statement I am on the left side and RSSC picked up my status. On the other statement they put my partner on the left side, they picked up her status and we can't book earlier because of her status. I have asked my TA to get this resolved. Thanks for the answers.
  17. I tried again using my wife's last names and it did show up. Thanks. Anybody else on timing of excursions and dinner ressies?
  18. We haven't been on RSSC in about 10 years. We last Wed. paid our deposit for two cruises in 2025. I have the guest statement from RSSC dated 6-27-23 for both cruises and the deposits have cleared my credit card account. When I go to "my account" on the website, neither cruise shows up as booked cruises and I tried to manually add the cruises but that did not work. When should our cruises show up in "my account"? Also, we have 60 nights with RSSC, so I know we can book excursions and dinner reservations earlier than newbies. I can't remember what the timelines are for the excursions and dinner ressies. I have asked our TA, but she may be off for the holiday weekend. Thanks and Happy Fourth to those of us who are US citizens. Gosh- happy fourth to everybody!
