  1. Recent cruise on Apex we sat next to couple who were on fully comped cruise (air, hotel, cruise) at dinner. Ran into them later in casino getting ready to call attendant for 14k+ win on slot machine.
  2. Also recipes online for homemade wrinkle release spray.
  3. It brought back so many beautiful memories of our SE Asia cruise in 2019. Hoping to return and experience more of the beauty, culture and food (!).
  4. As Elite level cruisers, Celebrity has definitely changed. Just got off the Apex and have one more X cruise on Ascent. After that trying out Sun Princess (elite on Princess also). Almost all people we talked to last week were first time cruisers or first time Celebrity cruisers. They LOVED Celebrity. Mostly Generation X, possibly their target market.
  5. I laugh when I see the lists of wines. We found on Apex last week many of the $17 glass wines were not available. So it was either drink the cheap one or pay the upcharge. Out of the four rose listed, the only one available (at least to non-retreat guests) was the Bel de Olivier at $10/glass. Sommelier said none on the ship; ordered and no idea when it would arrive. Funny, a week before I got a glass of the Jean Luc Columbo rose at Seasons 52, happy hour price $6 (Celebrity price $17 if available). If they can get supplied, why can't Celebrity? Unfortunately, the bar staff are having to become accomplished liars. And pours of wines are not generous.
  6. We got off Apex Saturday. For the first time in 20+ years of cruising we had a terrible cabin attendant. Hardly saw him, had to ask him for his card, for bathrobes, beach towels, hangers, kleenex. Also could have left msg in dust in cabin. Blood and filth on wastebasket lid. Late cabin makeup every day. Saw him in passing 4-5 times during cruise. Filled out comment card and got call from asst housekeeping director who apologized and said attendant would get more training. Sorry to OP bc we completely understand. Of course it's unexpected, disappointing and not acceptable. Still was a good cruise.
  7. Off Apex yesterday. Bag was on bottom shelf of rounded cubbies cabinet to right of bathroom door. Lighter cotton material than before. Pretty small for beach bag, 13.5" x 19" We were in SV cabin.
  8. That was the reply in December also. End of month was Dec. 31. Maybe they'll have "end of month" reply every month.
  9. On the Apex last week saw very few dressed up more for "Evening Chic". Most casual dress we've seen on any cruise including woman in thong bikini spilling out everywhere eating in Oceanview for lunch. No coverup, and no one told her to coverup. Short shorts in MDRs at night.
  10. Looking forward to the rest of your review. Always enjoy your reviews, photos and reflections. Would love to cruise SE Asia again.
  11. Forgot to mention it is not listed as elite breakfast but something like elite coffee lounge.
  12. It's generally listed on the stateroom list of Captain's Club events for elite and above. Held from 8 to 10 a.m. in various restaurants depending on ship and how many elite and above passengers. Cold breakfast items (fruit plate, smoked salmon/bagel, cheese/cold cuts) served either plated or buffet style (again depending on ship and how many eligible pax), pastries, juice, bloody mary, mimosas, sparking wine, coffee and a few specialty coffees. Hosted by Captain's Club hostess/host.
  13. Always enjoy your review and beautiful photos Jim! Wishing you, Iain and your loved ones happy and healthy holidays.
  14. We love Eden for having a drink in a comfy chair or sitting so that we can watch the wake. For me it's a good place to read or chat.
  15. I wouldn't make that assumption that most people on Celebrity are perfectly honest. My DH unfortunately left his credit card in the onboard bank machine on the Apex this summer on a Baltic cruise. The card was never turned in. Luckily he realized he'd left it and froze his card. A ship's population is just like any other; saints, scoundrels and those in between.
  16. Happy belated birthday Jim! Hope you and Iain are having the best cruise! My BD is November 24 and since it's near Thanksgiving we never have cruised over it. But we frequently cruise (2024 included) over DH's BD which is Jan. 11. Many thanks for your comprehensive posting!
  17. Lol, my mother was a microbiologist and was manic about unrefrigerated food and germs in general. I'm much more relaxed, and rarely get sick and have never had food poisoning ( my parents had it on their honeymoon). OVC Apex I'll see you in January 😊
  18. Safe travels home! Thank you for all your excellent reviews and photos! Tusen takk. Kristin
  19. On four E class cruises starting in August 2021, the onboard reservation system has ALWAYS had our reservations made through the cruise planner.
  20. In our case, on four E class cruises, reservations made via the cruise planner have always been recognized onboard. We walk in and always have been seated immediately.
  21. Have enjoyed following @Norwaylady on their cruise, and now happy to follow your Live. Thanks for your posting, and enjoy Singapore! We loved it there for a few days before SE Asia cruise in 2019.
  22. I usually bring gummy candy since I'm addicted (stocked up this summer on our Apex Baltics cruise), and am now going to add some nice crackers and some chips. Also bring some trail mix. In small quantities since we're not big eaters.
  23. On Amazon magnetic hooks usually list a pound strength -- but it is sometimes not accurate. By reading the reviews you will often find which have been effective for cruisers.
