  1. It says "purchased" so it is only eligible for an upgrade to Premier. And, that was my experience in May. How it plays out in real time for next cruise, time will tell Either way, it won't effect me more than I allow it to. I will go away relaxed, well-fed and happy with stories to tell. These minor issues are just a part of life.
  2. That where the YMMV kicks in. I did not have the problem you describe.
  3. Any change of any retail concern will affect people going forward. There is an ala carte option mentioned that will likely reduce the 3-course $14.99 meal to less for just a pizza. Still not significant in the overall cost of a cruise. BTW, I have walked by Alfredo's for decades and only eaten there once. I must walk by at the wrong time, as it seems everybody on this topic eats there daily and now their cruise is ruined.πŸ˜‰
  4. OK, so you're not a standard fare customer. Even better: If you're a PLUS pkg cruiser, room service is waved, app ordering is waived, you get 2 free Alfredo's (or Salty Dog Pub, etc.) 3 course meals/pp. If you CHOOSE to eat at Alfredo's every day additionally on a 7 day sail, that is 5x15 or $75/pp. If you choose other free venues it's $0. Still not seeing the significant
  5. Really. How significant of an increase do you figure this is for a standard fare passenger? Looks pretty minimal.
  6. Hope USPS comes through, but if not a Medallion will be available at port that syncs to all info you have loaded on app.
  7. Anecdotal: I've already cruised under 50, and got the 60 benefits. Again, YMMV.
  8. Check in cruise personalizer and then under upgrade banner. Check PLUS. Will show you've purchased and include the new features. I am in US if it makes a difference.
  9. My old Plus from 2022 is showing on cruise personalizer as having new benefits for 2024. No upgrade charge. YMMV.
  10. Everyone will find a cruise line that fits their style and their wallet. With everything from gas to groceries to eating out going up, this is all potatoes. I cruise Celebrity as well, but not because in is less costly. Seems like this change is not worth the drama. 11. After decades of cruises, we treat the ship as our destination. There are ports we have a favorite beach or tour, or a new destination at times. Sometimes we walk the port. But, we often happily enjoy the leisurely pace of a day onboard.
  12. As price drop was $1000+ on my B2B, I decided to cancel and rebook, choose cabin, rather than wait several weeks and risk price increase.
  13. Have avoided "E Class" ships in favor of "S" because of Infinite Veranda and lack of lawn area, which is where I gravitate daily. But, there's time to weigh my options and alternatives.
  14. I'm doing a B2B in Aug-Sep '24 book earlier this month. My reservation remains but sailings in those months show as "sold out." Don't think they'd do that for a change of a port. Maybe change of vessel? Full change of itinerary? Que Sera, sera.
  15. Just got off of Sapphire - C750. Lovely cabin, great wake view. Beam was not an issue. Cabin was a S6 which is the category that is least expensive of the sweets. For comparison, I have also been in a side view Penthouse Suite on Grand. And the huge wakeview Owner's Suite on Crown, IIRC. All were great. (PS, I've stayed in plenty of Insides, tooπŸ˜‰)
  16. My laundry charges and credit are usually shown at same time overnight with each use. Go to guest services, if not.
  17. Found this interesting from The Points Guy.... https://thepointsguy.com/news/carnival-ceo-josh-weinstein-interview/
  18. The 9/24 and following Sapphire cruise are showing "sold out" on "ticker" site, FWIW.
  19. It is a Princess sale conducted by a chain of franchised brick and mortar stores, claiming exclusive Princess rates. If you want to compare prices, they will be happy to quote you and you can decide. My experience in past years is that they are better than Princess direct, but probably not as good as large online agencies. YMMV
  20. Kind of in between - several hundred $$ involved between Celebrity promotion, agency credits, group credits and a 4th source I don't remember at this moment. That's why I was uncertain. I asked the very nice girl (in Manila?) the source of the OBC, she just said "it's everything." Note: I didn't complain. We will see. Note 2: This could be avoided if Celebrity website indicated OBC's (as well as perks) available without making a dummy excursion booking to see what populates payment field.πŸ€”
  21. Phoned in yesterday to buy a package upgrade for a B2B in August. Final has been paid. Anyway, I was just expecting Celebrity OBC to be available, with agency OBC not available until boarding. Amount available was more than I expected. So, is all OBC available for use Pre-cruise purchases these days?
  22. Potentially a way to get out from under (so much) debt. And, while not knowing Seabourn's profitability, CCL brands seem more at home in the mid-market, large ship target demographic.
  23. We get an electronic form from the testing showing negative or positive (and detail of test). Stored on phone or printed out.
