  1. Even after two years there are still a lot of questions about testing. In May of this year. Several family members had symptoms-coughing, sore throat, weakness, etc. I had only a running nose. We took some home test. They were negative but I was positive on two home tests. We went to get medical tests. Again, everyone tested negative but me although they still had worse symptoms.
  2. Yes, they will have to. Finally, being vaccinated means something.
  3. We decided this year only to take five-day cruises to hopefully avoid this situation. I realize this as not guarantee but it seems a short cruise gave less chance for the virus to manifest onboard. (We actually got a mild case a month before our cruise so hopefully that protected us a little bit.) We only heard about one family who reported covid after the cruise so that was good news.
  4. Once testing is eliminated it will not be hard to find the news, a 1000 people will be posting here, another thousand on youtube, not to mention a few million on Facebook, and all the other platforms.
  5. ON the Breeze, the was a long line for breakfast but since we used the app we breezed past dozens of people waiting in line who chose not to use the app.
  6. Right- the document of recovery is simply a copy of the positive lab test from a certified lab. I too contact Carnival and email my document to them prior to the cruise. (We decided at the last minute to retest so we could use VeriFly since in my state they still offered free testing at that time.) Enjoy your cruise.
  7. Yes, but if you added it when you booked the cruise, remove them before the final payment. Then a few days before you sail pay them if you like.
  8. Right, please do what I did consult the official policies and email your documents to Carnival in advance for approval.
  9. A certificate of recovery is a copy of the positive lab test.
  10. Did you suffer a loss? and did you provide documentation of the loss?
  11. We may still have Royal Carnival within the next few years.
  12. On our recent cruise, we just set up a cash account and to used the credit. We did not attach a credit card.
  13. Right next time we will take the stairs down without all the luggage but this time we were on deck 12 with a larger suitcase and several smaller ones.
  14. A few weeks ago, we did self-assist from deck Everyone in the lower deck rode up before going down so it took us two hours to get on an elevator. We will not do self-assist since when we finally got off the ship we had to walk right through where all the check bags were stored. If we had checked our bags and took the stairs it would have greatly reduced our wait time.
  15. I realize from a business sense there is no saving the ship, the market is saturated with excess ships right now. My family had a lot of good times on this ship and other Fantasy class ships which in the 1990 were the mega-ships of the era.
  16. One thing I like about this ship is there is outside seating along the Lidio deck to eat if you can take the Mobile heat. It is fairly quiet. I hope you enjoy. I wish there was a way to SAVE this ship.
  17. We did several Thanksgiving cruises PRE, they were always packed.
  18. We visited Cozumel a few weeks ago when 6 ships were in port. We called when docking to see if they had any availability for pay as you go customers- they did not.
  19. It appears that the new strains are so contagious and changing so rapidly the idea of contact tracing, natural immunity, herd immunity, isolation, and maybe even vaccination mean nothing. I know several people who are on their third infection by now and no telling how many people actually have it at any given time. We cruise last month, and we only know of two families that reported infections after the cruise but of course a lot may have just stayed silent about it. I would like to know how many people test positive before a cruise. This might be a more important measure.
  20. This gives Carnival flexibility- I have known people who have had their extension cords taken. I do not understand why I cannot bring a boy scout knife that is allow on an airplane or a small pair of scissors that we need to cut bandages to cover my child's diabetic pump. I also do not understand why some people are allow to carry-on huge suitcases and wagons that are on the prohibited list.
  21. The contract says, "household goods."
  22. I have sail on Hollard about ten years ago and really enjoyed it. Not all Carnival fans would like it for the reasons we did. I know some things have changed in the last ten years but even then, it is a different environment. The buffet was crew served for the first three days. There was a lot less drinking on the ship. Our suite package came with two bottles of booze. We don't drink booze so I thought, man, I can sell these and make some quick cash but I could not give them away. There were a lot less children on the ship. We had a five-year-olds and there were only six kids in her age group in the kids camp but that had that many workers. My family had the pools and hot tubs to ourselves several days.
  23. On the Carnival website there is a way to request one or you can call to request one. But also a quality travel agent can provide the same services.
