  1. Oh and the blueberry pie at the West End cafe - delicious! Make sure you get it scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with it.
  2. If you’re looking for lobster rolls, the I’d recommend the West End cafe in Bar Harbor, right across the street from the tender drop off. They had a special which we shared with and extra bowl of clam chowder ( also excellent). Also Dimillos in Portland. I never had a lobster roll with so much lobster!
  3. We also check daily and if any incorrect charges, find guest services very accommodating. I’m sure it doesn’t happen often, but I often wonder what’s to prevent someone from just giving a random stateroom number when asked and does this account for the errors? Much prefer they just ask for our sea pass card.
  4. Have them the check everything. We were at the airport ( 4 hours from our home) ready to board a plan to Rome and could not find my passport. After having a meltdown, I looked thru my carryon bag and there it was in a different handbag ( in an inside pocket). I had decided to switch bags last minute. I agree it would be of little use to steal someone’s passport. Please let us know what happens.
  5. Yes, escargot on the Summit last week. You might be able to ask for a double portion. People were doing that with the shrimp cocktail. David, our next cruise is on the Ascent September 2 next fall. But will probably look for something this winter to the Caribbean.
  6. Hi David, We wore the name tags you had kindly made and sent to us last year at sail-a-way and received many compliments! I neglected to add that the ship is very light and bright, especially in the public areas since the make over. And very little to none KH clutter, especially in the cabin. The Party Band, the Seagulls was one of the best we have seen. Vicky
  7. Hi everyone. We just returned from our NE/Canada cruise on the Summit. There has been so much controversially regarding changes in the main dining room menus I though I would just post our thoughts. Food of course, is very subjective so I’m just providing information and our thoughts and how things compared to our cruise on the Eclispe this past May. For the most part, everything we ordered was very good to excellent. Excellent applies to the prime rib and the beef brochette. I was able to order a baked potato instead of the mashed potatoes. Yes, I think Celebrity could be a little more creative regarding potatoes as well as the veggie sides which was carrots and geeem beans with almost every dish. We missed some of our favorites ( branzino, trout, beef tornadoes on the first chic night) but we’re very happy to find duck on the menu the second ice night ( not on the app). Usually the chef added another entree or appetizer that was not on the app. There is a significant reduction of appetizers, with salads, a soup or two and maybe a real appetizer all grouped together. Desert choices were very good ( the Sacher torte amazing!). We did go to two speciality restaurants ( and one in Portland) on days when we thought the menu was not to our liking. The OV Cafe for breakfast and lunch was the same as we have always experienced. We especially appreciate the variety of Indian foods and love love the chicken salad. We did not experience any shortage of wait staff in any venue. We throughly enjoyed our cruise and spent three days in Quebec instead of going to P.E.I. to avoid the hurricane. The three warm and sunny days in Quebec more than made up for the foggy day in Bar Harbor. We thought Manual was an excellent cruise director, personable and often seen around the ship. We went to all but 2 shows and thought they were all excellent. Happy to answer any questions. Vicky
  8. Also a great place for lunch on boarding day as the OV cafe is usually very crowded. Enjoy.
  9. So very much enjoyed your review. I had a lot of catching up to do as we just returned from the NE/Canada cruise on the Summit. Your photos were amazing! I also remember Gimble’s growing up. And we loved Boston Store when we moved to upstate NY. Quick question, how did you get the dining credit with your priority pass? We are often at airports or terminals with no lounges. Thanls!
  10. Jim, The originator of Air BnB is a graduate of our high school ( Niskayuna’s claim to fame). He gave a speech at the HS a few years ago ( I think when inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame) and told us how he started it ( in San Francisco) and how it and how it developed. Very personable young man.
  11. Thanks Helen. That did work although I did have to add it with reservation number.
  12. Hi everyone. I may ,have asked before but how do I switch one sailing to another on my IPhone app? I just added another sailing and now can’t find how to return to our upcoming cruise. Once again, thanks everyone. Vicky
  13. I agree. Our daughter and husband are in their mid thirties and enjoy good food as do their friends. They typically go out to upscale ( and expensive) restaurants. We have encouraged them for years to go on a Celebrity cruise but would never do that now with the current menus.
  14. Jim, I just four. This thread after wondering where you have been. A.ways enjoy your live reviews ( boarding the Summit next Sunday for NE/ Canada). We have many friends in our complex in FL from Sault Ste. Marie and it sounds like a charming town. Enjoy your cruise!
  15. Having difficulty finding link to cancel excursions. Appreciate help. Thanks
  16. We have always looked forward to the duck ( I love the duck) and branzino which I noticed are not on our upcoming Summit cruise 😢. looking forward to the rest of your review.
  17. On our upcoming Summit cruise, I don’t see branzino or duck, the two dishes we have always looked forward to!
  18. Mistermet, Enjoyed your review. We’re on the Summit on the 9th. I know exactly where Carlton Lakes is. Yes, very close.
  19. What is the phone number for the BCC? Thanks.
  20. Thanks Miaminice. Looking forward to your next review.
  21. Does anyone know if we win our Aquaclass bid, will we also receive the beverage pkg? Currently do not have AI. Thanks.
  22. Enjoyed you review and glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise. We’re looking forward to our New England/Canada cruise on the Summit in Sept. By the way, where are you in Naples? We’re in north Naples, off Wiggins Pass Rd. Safe travel home.
