  1. Thanks. I always book non refundable. I also use future cruise certificates. The cruises that I have booked have always increased in price so booking a refundable and then switching to non refundable wouldn’t be feasible. It would end up costing more. I don’t book cruises to cancel. The $200 isn’t much if I do have to cancel. It is cheaper than insurance and the refundable price. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  2. How does it work changing non refundable to refundable and then canceling? 🤷‍♂️ Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  3. if you look at the majority of cruisers they are older and have cruises many times before. That is the purpose of the loyalty clubs. Every one has some type of loyalty club. They want you to repeat but in the end they always decrease the value of the club and being loyal. They tend to forget that you were the ones that helped them become what they are. I am in my 70s. My children and other younger people that I talk to don’t really have an interest in taking a cruise. They would rather some their money elsewhere. With the current prices of the cruises, cutbacks and etc. my wife and I are also thinking the same. If we take the future cruises we have booked on X we will be Zenith. We will do the free cruise and that may be the end. There are many better options with better products for our dollars. I am tired of them not having something like a bourbon, wine and etc because of a supply issue when I see it in the duty free shop or my local liquor store Some how they think they can do without us. If that is their opinion why do they always thank us on every cruise for our loyalty? ; Others may disagree but this is my opinion and my dollars. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  4. Mine is H2O, and Americano. For what you are asking it would be the Arnold Palmer. Iced tea and lemonade. You can make it in the buffet at the coffee and drink station No cost Another would be a Shirley Temple. Google it. I don’t know what the cost would be. On Board there are usually a few NA drinks listed but there is a cost. You have to decide of it is worth it. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🌅
  5. I have no problems or issues with the WCB. It is one of our favorites. The first time on X was on the Solstice. We went to the Molecular Bar and ask the BT about the drinks being served there. We didn’t have a drink package and I don’t know if it was available. My wife and I were the only people there. He said we should have been here when I had the demonstration at 6 pm. I don’t have the time to waste explaining them to you. We left and never went back. He was very arrogant and rude. A few cruises later we had the drink package as a promo. We loved that bar. The BTs were very friendly and professional. I think they were the best BTs on board. When it changed to the WCB the only difference was the drink menu. The BTs were still the best. Recently on the Beyond they now serve other drinks along with bottled water and etc. It wasn’t like before when they only served what was on the drink menu. I think it now makes it easier for the BTs not explain and deny people that only want a bottle of water or something else. We always get the old fashion but ask for bourbon instead of the rum. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  6. Tell them to leave the kids with the grand parents, relatives or do something else with the kids. I wouldn’t want to be isolated on a ship with children if some emergency happened. What assistance are they asking from you? To cruise with them and watch the kids or to take care of them while they take a cruise? it is a no win situation for you. There is no benefit for you. This is my opinion and others will have their own. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  7. As soon as you board. Anywhere you go can be a sail away party. The staff may have something going on around the pool area, sometimes a band is playing but who wants to be looking at the pool? Servers will be walking around with trays of a sail away drink that is usually a punch for sale. I would suggest to avoid because the ice has melted and watered it down. People on the roll call may suggest to be at the Sunset Bar but all it amounts to is a lot of people being at a crowded bar trying to get a drink and get a spot along the rail. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  8. Many say you can never go back after being in a suite. BS. We have done it many times and will keep doing it. We like AQ but have also done as you the sunset veranda. It all depends on the value at the time. I was recently looking at a 10 day cruise where a suite was $600 pp more than AQ. The extra perks and value added is definitely worth $60/day pp. The $400 PP OBC reduces it to along with the other upgrades of the perks to be worth paying the extra. Considering everything the suite is cheaper. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  9. On the Beyond in March there was a drawing activity in the Eden Lounge. It was open to everyone and listed in the daily. The artist there was doing a hand holding a wine glass. Michael was on the Apex and was part of a few nightly shows in the Eden Lounge. If nothing else I think it stirs an interest in sketching. I googled sketching and found a lot of sites and interesting things about it. It can be a fun thing to do but I have a lot of other interests and don’t really need to get involved in another. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  10. The WCB is a great addition to the Beyond. Hopefully the other E class ships will add it. Eden Bar is nice but it gets very crowded when they have the nightly shows. The WCB is more secluded and not a high activity bar on the ships It would be fantastic if all of the M Class ships adds the WCB. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  11. It was done with colored pencils. The way he showed j]how to do it was like connecting the dots. He said use your imagination and chose different color pencils that were supplied to make it colorful. No right or wrong. Just a lot of fun and the wine made it more fun not that we needed it as we had the premium pack. It is a nice perk and hope to see more . The other nice perk was the mixology and music. A BT showed how to make and sample 4 full size drinks while listening to some music. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸
  12. You don’t need it. Everything is supplied. Those events aren’t offered on all of the ships. It is more of a fun activity instead of an art class. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  13. We had him. He is fantastic. We went to the wine and draw class that was part of the Captain Club perks. We drew a sea horse. It was very informative and entertaining. He was very good on the step by step instructions on how to do it. I am not an artist but did a lot of mechanical drawings for installation of equipment in an auto plant. I worked in plant engineering. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅 IMG_0562.heic
  14. There is a difference between amenities and perks When you move up you get the amenities that come with the category except for the Captain Club points. In AQ that would be dining in Blu, and the thermal spa on the Edge Class ships Perks are the drink pack, internet, gratuities and OBC. If you had any of them you will keep them. If you booked a AQ you would get the all included that is the internet, class drink pack and gratuities plus the 5 points per night and choose your cabin location. You may want to consider doing that if you want AQ and figure out the value. I never do a move up as I book a category and cabin that is in my budget and I am happy with. All a move up does is make me spend more money than I planned on because it is a bargain. 🤷‍♂️ Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  15. I don’t have any idea of what others pack so I wouldn’t really know the one thing that others forget. We have a check list for things to pack and do for the house. It all depends on your own personal needs. I alway pack a few pair of my previous eye glasses. I am always afraid of them falling overboard when on our veranda or getting broken. If you don’t wear glasses it doesn’t apply to you. We also pack some Zicam that we will take as soon as we feel cold symptoms. It seems to knock it out and not spoil our cruise because of a cold. We also take energy bars. Never know if you will get delayed boarding, or needed in any emergency. And each of us take at least one bottle of water with us on boarding day. We don’t fly and we drive to the ports. We always make sure we have a full tank of gas when we park. We want to make sure that we have the gas to get out of Dodge if there is a power outage due to some storm. We mainly cruise out of Fl and live in MI. There is always a case of water, cans of tuna, chicken, jerky, and crackers and etc in our car. We have been in a few hurricanes and tropical storms to know what happens during and after. At our house we unplug all of the unnecessary electrical devices, turn off the water at the main valve, put the water heater on vacation, notify our credit cards companies that we are traveling, put the mail on hold, make sure bills are paid that will be due when gone, empty the garbage, empty the ice container in the freezer into freezer bags as we don’t want water flooding the floor if there is a power outage. Let our local police and neighbors know that we will be gone Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  16. The Edge class has a very nice walking track. You can also walk around almost any deck, down the port side and then the starboard and not be outside on the upper deck by the pools. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  17. I don’t think it was called the WCB. It had some other name. The drink menu was on a few IPads and I think that was confusing for many, especially when they didn’t work properly. The drinks were different than the WCB and most of them were smoked. Another problem was the staff. I think we’re they shared somewhere else. One time when the bar was supposed to be open we sat there for 20 minutes and there was no BT in sight. People would come up and leave because of that. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  18. More shaded areas, adults only, no smoking any where, gratuities included in the fare, Also make sure that there are no intruders or guests of those that are in the Yacht Club. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  19. There is a perk in the Captains Club where you get a one class cabin upgrade in the same category but does not apply for suites. You have to ask for it when booking. It basically changes the cabin location. Eg AQ2 to AQ1 for the same price. Sometimes it can be useful Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  20. Ask for them to substitute Grand Marnier for the Cointreau. Grand Marnier added in a Mimosa also steps it up a notch. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  21. We may go about once during out cruise. When we do it is near the end of the cruise. It always seems like we get the stink eye from some the regulars as if we were intruding on them. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  22. Those that have the flower designs. I don’t like the plain white dishes that look like they came from the buffet. 🤣 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  23. Call a few TA and those associated with the airlines, and wholesale clubs. Some auto insurance companies provide travel. You will probably find that they are all within a few dollars. I booked with one TA and regretted it after. They charged $50 for any change. If I wanted to move to another cabin $50. Upgrade $50. Price adjustment $50. One airline charged $50 as a booking fee Find out about any fees they charge. It also helps if they are available 7 days a week. I was on a cruise that started on Sunday. I had a problem with my perks when I boarded, my cruise card showed that I didn’t have any. I booked with all 4 perks. I was happy that the TA was available on Sunday to correct the situation. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  24. The obstruction are usually like others said. Not much to worry about. How much time are planning on being on the balcony? When sailing you will probably be in a public area most of the time . If going to the glaciers you will probably want to be on an upper deck and not on the balcony. The better views are from an open deck where you can get from side to side of there is something of interest. We did 2 seven day cruises b2b. One north and the other south. During those 14 days there was one whale sighting. We didn’t see it as we were in the dining room. People were glued to every outside window hoping to see something. For us the only way we seen any wild life was on a tour. Sailing thru the straights gets boring. After the first mile you seen everything that you will see trough the passage. Like traveling thru the desert or a forest after the first mile the rest looks the same. Take the money Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
