meh56 Posted August 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Our ship is stopping in both Huatulco MX and Puntarenas CR and I wanted to know if anyone can tell me if these ports have anything at the pier. We just want to get off the ship and walk around a little. Are there any shopping areas or things to see around the port?
OCruisers Posted August 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2017 In Huatulco you dock in town. There's a nice beach right there with ocean front bars/restaurants. The chairs and tables were at n/c when ordering drinks or food. :) Best to take an excursion of some sort in Puntarenas -- not much there except for "vendor" items in that small dirty town. :(

CruiserBruce Posted August 23, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2017 The "Mexican Rivera" on Cruise Critic is the entire Pacific Coast of Mexico.

Will be there in Oct., could not find much recent in the Mexican Rivera thread.

There are restaurants/bars all lined up along the beach. Servers will come up to you seeking your business; make whatever deals you can get. When we arrived, it was far too early for lunch; for ten bucks (an amount I would never even bargain over) we got two very comfortable loungers and an umbrella for the day, then later, when we ordered lunch, they set up a table and chairs for us right on the beach. Great service!! It was a beautiful, relaxing day. (photos by turtles06)
