Kaytee.D Posted October 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2017 My cruise was a last minute spontaneous thing so there wasn't really any showing left. Should I lose any hope of seeing the comedy shows? I'm really hoping to experience all these great shows I read about on this ship but not sure if it's realistic. Thoughts? Thank you! See if they can get you into the comedy show. Otherwise, for every performance, there is a standby line.
yuvraj Posted October 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Comedy club is a small venue but I find that those who wait in the standby line manage to get in without any problems. If it is particularly busy, try on another occasion.
Clarea Posted October 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Your boarding document will list where they have the "boarding day box office" set up for your cruise. For us, it was the On Air Club on the Royal Promenade.
Rare Lionesss Posted October 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2017 I am amazed how many available seats there have been on all of our recent Oasis class sailings for the shows (5 cruises ). Some People book the shows before the sailing and for whatever reason do not go............... Whether it be the casino Whether it was because they were too tired. Whether because they forgot Whether they made other plans with friends. Whether it was the drink package:rolleyes: But the stand by line provided many an opportunity to get in. Yea if unable to make a reservation either online or when you board ...............just go to the venue and get in line. Enjoy

Rare thrifty99 Posted October 7, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 7, 2017 On the Allure now and we had reservations for the comedy show later that night but wanted to try and get in the earlier show so we stood in standby for that. About 35 people got in from the standby line. We were about #20 in line and arrived 30 minutes early. Definitely try and get reservations so you don't have to wait in the standby line if possible. Pstreet12 Posted October 7, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 7, 2017 We,too, are on the Allure. Lots of standbys are being seated every night--also, 10 min before showtime, they release the unoccupied pinacle and suite seats, some of the best seats are available last minute to standbys. cruisinfanatic Posted October 7, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Just off Harmony and booked 2 days ahead because of Adventure cancellation. We went straight to Studio B and all shows were available except for the comedy show. Apparently they don't keep any availability for those in my situation. Got in the standby line about 45 minutes before show time and had no problem getting in. No seats together left. Just hover over the saved upper tier seats. I don't think a single person came to use them. 5-10 minutes before the show, they are opened up

Enjoy I think part of the issue is people make these reservations way ahead of the cruise and who knows what you will actually be in the mood to do when the time actually arrives. I also wonder if now that the ships have been out for awhile and are getting repeat cruisers, if those repeaters make reservations just in case they feel like taking in a show but when the time comes decide they have better things to do than take in a show that they have already seen? Obviously that reasoning doesn't apply to the headliner or comedy show which change from cruise to cruise, But Blue Planet and Ice Games (the ice show) have been on Allure from the beginning. Kaytee.D Posted October 17, 2017 Author #14 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Please report back, I'm curious if it's different on Allure. So we were able to attend all the shows we wanted to see. We just arrived 30 minutes early in standby and got in each time. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be :)

frank808 Posted October 17, 2017 #16 Share Posted October 17, 2017 The late night comeday club shows at 11pm is a lot emptier than the earlier ones. Usually if you arrive about 20 min early for the stand by line you will get in. I like to goto multiple comedy shows during the week if the comedian does improv for about half their routine. If they use "set" routines, it is one and done. Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
