4:10 pm arrival (Friday) in Fll heading to Brickell area...traffic how bad?

and what would be our chances in getting an Uber XL for 3 people with luggage for a pre-cruise

I don't know how the traffic is at that time of day because my flight got in much later on a Friday evening, but getting an UberX from FLL to our Miami airport area hotel was very easy and the driver arrived in less than five minutes. I was originally going to arrive at the airport in Miami, but due to travel delays had to book a last minute flight on Southwest.

The worst of the traffic will be heading the other way. Typical wait times for Uber/Lyft at FLL is about 5 min - your results may vary.

Traffic in South Florida isn't THAT bad. It's a non-issue. Sure, there may be some traffic, but it's not brutal. Just grab your Uber and go, you'll be fine.

Yes, the heavy traffic on I95 will be heading north during rush hour.

Yup. Traffic goes into Miami in the morning and out in the evening. Easy way to remember "Go to Dade to get paid" :)

You will have traffic at that time of day since by the time you get your bags and depart it will be at least 4:30. The traffic is far worse heading north and east, but I hit traffic all the time coming from the airport area into Brickell at the time of day. Both 112 and the 836 leaving the airport will get backed up due to the traffic getting onto I-95 north.

Will take you around 60-mins or so. Maybe a little less. With clear traffic it takes around 35mins. So it won't be too bad. As other have said most traffic is going out of Miami. Though traffic inside of Brickell will be bad. But the highways should be ok if there are no accidents.
