Royal are running The buy one get one half price offer With third and fourth people 25% Off. why would people squish a third and fourth person in a room. Would it not make more sense to book 2 cabins? Am I missing something. Drinks package included for first two in cabin only as well?

Does this offer suit anybody?

Maybe someone has to be watched overnight for medical reasons. I am grasping and don't know why if it were cheaper for 2 cabins vs 1 why someone would cram 4 in 1.

Parents with children?

When it comes to young children, wouldn't connecting cabins suffice? Similar setup at home where parents are in one room and kids in the next room.

It is often very difficult to find connecting cabins - there are not that many, and often book up early.

It actually depends on the ship and sail date. I have found having 4 people in 1 room can be signicantly cheaper on some sailings. And on other sailing it is cheaper having 2 in 2. Or anywhere in between.

Keep in mind pricing on 3rd and 4th guest are ussaully cheaper before any discounts. And if you have kids you can ussaully find kids sale free. Which means if they were in a second room you would pay almost double.

As for why. Some people just consider a room a place to sleep. Unless you plan on spending a lot of time in your room it does not matter.

Also are you outside the us? Because the that is not the sale we are currently having here.

But that's the weird thing I don't understand joy.

Whatever way I look at it, person 3 and 4 are paying exactly the same as couple 1 and 2

2 balcony rooms each holding 2 people cost the same as 4 people in one room.

Pricing can often seem odd based on supply and demand. Have you tried doing a dummy booking - perhaps the offer is for one or the other, not both "deals." There might be something you are missing in the fine print.

If there's a 3rd person you have to pay double just for another cabin. A 3rd will almost always be cheaper. As for squishing, it's not often much different between 2 and 3, and even 4 is manageable.

If you're fine to pay double for a whole family over a couple, that's great, but many people look to help their budget by paying less than double, even though still a lot more than if they were just a couple.

You get a nicer cabin (balcony or suite) rather than being stuck in two insides.

Can't even fathom being in an inside cabin in general...gotten spoiled to have a balcony at minimum...we have 5 cruising next itinerary - all set on 2 balconies next to each other. By booking early & with C&A discount...got them at a very reasonable price. No problem.
