Diamond and Up Drink Vouchers - List of Ships Using them

I thought that I would start a thread where people can post which ships have moved to include drink vouchers loaded on Sea Pass cards in addition to the nightly Diamond and up event/lounge.

So please copy and paste the most current post with the list and add your Ship to the bottom. :D

Yes they 'say' all ships will have this feature by 'fall' but we all know how things can slow down or change with RCI!

I think this is a fantastic benefit for when traveling with non Diamond members. Not to mention it should help to alleviate overcrowding issues.

Just got an email that the drink vouchers will be on Navigator in September.

Just getting off the Oasis this morning, did not have this as a perk yet, wish they did though. I found the benefits, other than the Diamond Lounge, to be rather weak. Look forward to this being implemented.

We got an email this morning that Oasis will have them for our November 29th. 2014 cruise. :)

Received e-mail this morning. We sail on the Oasis..Trans-Atlantic September 1.

The beverage vouchers will be implemented on our cruise..Yay!..Nice wee perk.

Funny you should post that…I was just sitting here reading this thread thinking that that drink vouchers would have solved my little problem on Legend on our PC cruise in April!;) (so maybe it's just been your good luck!) Up until April, I've never had a request denied either, but Legend was different!

I ordered a Bloody Mary in the DL. Not a big deal, right? Nothing fancy - just vodka and BM mix. BUT NO! After 20 minutes, we asked the D Concierge what was taking so long with our drinks. He told me they are "not allowed" to make Bloody Marys in the DL. (Huh? - since when? And how come nobody told us that - were they just going to let us sit there all evening?) He further told me that the CL is "not allowed" to make a Bloody Mary either because it's not on THE LIST. So, we left the DL and proceeded to the CL where they did indeed make me a Bloody Mary with no question and no problem.

Next day I got a glass of tomato juice in the Windjammer and they put plastic wrap on the top for me. It spent the day in my ice bucket and I took it to the DL that night because I'm stubborn. (I have one drink each night in there, and I want what I want.:o) The D Concierge told me the bartender is "not allowed" to make a BM even if I supplied the tomato juice.:eek: So I ordered: vodka on the rocks, a tall glass of ice, 2 olives on a pick, a lime segment, and a swizzle stick. I mixed my own drink in the DL that night. Had to prove a point, ya know...:rolleyes:

Of course, we figured out how to solve this problem easily by just never going back to the DL on Legend again and simply using the CL, where they make very tasty Bloody Marys and evidently have a different copy of THE LIST.

Vouchers would have been just fine on Legend!! We cruise Navigator on Aug 24 but haven't gotten any communication about vouchers. Bob's Nav cruise is in Sept, so I'm assuming that's the month they start on Navigator. So I won't get to try the vouchers out in Aug - darn!

On different ships different "martinis" are offered in the CL as well as margaritas. The best drink I think I have ever had was a peach martini. Can't remember which ship. Anyway, I hope the bars will be allowed to make lemondrops, cosmos and margaritas as the CL's do. And your bloody marys, Judy.

Are there restrictions as to which drinks you can have, or do you get a discount of a certain amount on each drink?

I've had a martini before in both DLs and CLs on various ships, so that shouldn't be a problem I would think. And I've seen people with lemondrops and cosmos too. My understanding is that the lounges offer basic 'well drinks' which means if they can make it from the regular bar bottles and regular bar mixers, they will. (So DH knows if he orders scotch, it will NOT be Johnny Walker Blue - haha!) So that should carry over to the bars when vouchers are used.

I like wine with dinner, so I tend to branch out a little in the lounge with my drink before dinner. I don't always order a Bloody Mary, but sometimes that's just what I want!:p It's never ever been an problem until Legend. Typically I only have one drink in the lounge before dinner, though occasionally I have 2. (So it really irritated me when that D Concierge would not allow a simple Bloody Mary - could you tell?:rolleyes:)

Oooohhhh…peach martini? I may have to try that! Vodka and peach schnapps?

I've noticed it's varied from CL to CL what drinks can be made. DW 'discovered' Lemondrops first cruise in the CL, they couldn't do that in the next one. Cruise after the CL bartender said he couldn't but he worked days in the Casino and always made sure she had Lemondrops in there (guess who got our WOW card on that trip?)

Either you order "ordinary" drinks or you are lucky. :)

We've seen a table tent listing of available drinks in the DL and CL. I would imagine that the vouchers will be applicable to those same drinks. Basic cocktails, nothing frozen/blended.

we had a great variety of drinks in both lounges last week on the

Grandeur. They even had a drink menu posted in the diamond lounge. both lounges appeared to be under utilized, but we enjoyed them.

Judy, I have no idea how they made the peach "martini", but it was finished off with champagne..well, what passes for champagne in the DLs and CLs.

Received email today for 7-6-14 Navigator for the Sea that three drink vouchers will be loaded onto Sea Pass card each night of cruise during lounge hours. I know many of you are happy but this will be our first time in Diamond Lounge! Oh well, we will still go in lounge to check it out!

Just got an email that the drink vouchers will be on Navigator in September.

Is it true you have to tell the bar tender or waiter you are using your free drink?
