What you see is what you get

Name is Belle if we haven't met

Internet has been working a few days

Hope it keeps up it good ways

So Thanksgiving Day is coming next week

Are you going to be good or weak

Turkey, veggies and salads are good

If your in a healthy eating mood

Rolls, Potatos, stuffing and desserts are so fine

But if we start eating them, then it's hard to stay the line

What is better being stuffed and to full to move and in pain

Or get on the scale and have a loss or stay the same instead of a gain

*******************************************************

The best is to have a little bit of everything

and stop right there if you can

That way your happy and have a taste of everything

but if you can't stop..away you must stand

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!

I'm still trying to lose 2-3 pounds, but for all practical purposes I'm on maintenance. I put my running shoes on this morning for the first time in a month after fracturing my hip, and that burns a lot of calories, so I'm not worried about a few hundred extras on a holiday. We are going to a steak house as none of us really cares for turkey, so I'll order a petite filet, won't let them refill the bread basket, will order veggies instead of potatoes, and will split dessert with my husband.

That morning we're going to feed the homeless, I don't think we'll have time to work out first, but the next morning we're doing a five mile fun run which will burn about 500 calories off.

Bottom line, no I'm not worried. I have very good will power and get a lot of exercise to burn off those calories.

All right..up and at 'em!

Step on the scale!

Good Luck!

Ducklite..Sorry about your hip. Glad it's

getting better. Thank you for helping

the homeless. Have fun on your 'fun run"

Really.. a 5 mile run is FUN?

No movement on the scale for me, although at this point I'm building muscle faster than losing the last bit of fat, so if anything I might see it move upwards, not down. Body fat dropped .1%.

HI all!

Belle ~ nice to see you & your ditties back!

skiiergirl ~ I know where those 5.5 lbs plus another .3 went!! I picked them up on my 13 days of cruising! I am now 1 lb more than the highest I've ever been, even when pregnant! Yikes!!!:o

ducklite ~ good for you helping the homeless!:D I'm with Belle about a 5 mile run being fun!;)

Have a great week everyone as you count down to Thanksgiving & maybe some major shopping.

~ Jo ~ :)

Good Morning,

Belle, glad you are here.

Some hits and misses today.

Congrats losers.

Somehow I gained 2 lbs. and I have no reason for it. Not good.

Haven't eaten out this week, no parties, nothing.

Bummer because this weekend is a family gathering, eating out, etc.

Will have to be good otherwise.

Good luck this week. Daina

Hi Ducklite,

Well, now that you mention it I did go back to using my weight machine at home and using my stair stepper more. Hmm, something to think about.

Other than that it's the same thing I usually do, same amount of exercise hours per week: walking, exercise bike, water aerobics, hand weights.

Thanks for the thought. Diana

Hi all,

As usual, congrats to those who lost this week and encouragement to those who didn't.

Well, I won't reach my goal of logging 800 miles in the 16 weeks leading up to my cruise. I was on pace for the first 10-11 weeks but my mom's hospitalization, a slight ankle sprain and then bronchitis the last 3 weeks brought it to a grinding halt. I rarely get sick so that was a tough one for me. I couldn't exert myself at all if I wanted to avoid a coughing fit. I'm better now and am slowly getting back to the club. I'm not able to do the 60-80 minute stairmaster workouts just yet, but I'm trying hard to build up my wind again.

I leave for my cruise in 9 days so will have to do my best in the little time I have left. It's not like my cruise clothes won't fit or anything, I just wanted to be more fit. After this cruise it'll be 3 weeks of the holidays and then leaving for a cruise on New Year's Day. Yikes. Will definitely have some work to do come mid-January when I get home from that trip! Maybe I'll set another goal of logging miles per week and checking in for accountability. It REALLY helped me stay on track when I checked in every week. There were times I just didn't want to work out but I did because I knew it would keep me on pace and I wanted to reach that weekly goal.

Good luck this upcoming week everyone.

Michelle

Yes.....we leave in 9 days! Yeah! You and I have both had some troubles in the last few months...but we are going to go and enjoy the cruises and then just get back on track in mid-January! It will be a new year and a new start for us on our weight loss / exercise program! Look forward to meeting you soon!

I've been away for the week at a conference in Freeport, Me (LL Bean is there) .. had lots of wonderful food and drinks ... I am now up 2 pounds, but hope most of it is from lots of salt.

I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon ... to have a problem with my sinus checked out ... Hoping everything is ok - Jan

I heard on dr oz drinking coconut water helps to flush salt out of your system faster.

I like Dr Oz - and I like coconut water also - I'll have to try it. I always seem to have swelling from salt - very annoying.

I went and had a CT scan today - I have a lump on the top of my gum line and they say it is originating from my sinus and that they believe that there is a mass of some sort in my sinus .... Now I have to wait about a week to get the results (two specialists will be looking at it --- and then they are sending it to another ... just to be sure that they are all seeing the same thing) .... Its always something!!! I'm sure its ok. Jan

Wow Jan...sorry to hear this. Hope all turns out to be ok. Please keep us posted. Yes, I am the queen of "it is always something!".

Hang tough Jan - and I agree - these things are rarely anything. They saw a spot on my lung a few months ago - everyone who's lived in AZ more than 20 years has one - it's the leftover from Valley Fever. Whether you know it or not, you inevitably get it here and they calcify over and are benign - but with Dr's struggling to make a living, they call it in and make a three trip ordeal out of nothing.

Down 2lbs to 194 - still on track for 14 more in 14 weeks - looking good and feeling good!

No pics this week, we actually got tons of rain and stayed holed up all weekend!

I guess I lied - I was in mine safety training last week at the Arizona Capitol and walked every lunch hour - some of the snapshots I took:

This is a new WW2 USS Arizona Memorial that will be dedicated 12-7-13. This is a 16" gun barrel from the Missouri, on the other side is a 14" gun from the Arizona.

This is a quicky video of some of the monuments around the mall:

Remember: Lean protein good - half a pie bad!

Good luck everybody!

Another .1% drop in body fat and no movement on the scale. My clothes are looser every week, I'm into a size 4 with no problem, and a two in "vanity sizing."

I bought a few new things the other day at Macy's with. 20% off coupon, but don't want to buy too much until I'm sure where my body will finish size-wise.

shootr - my SIL used to live in AZ and my in-laws would visit - every time my MIL has a x-ray they notice the spot on her lungs .. then someone has to explain about AZ

ducklite - wouldn't I love to be a 4!!! or a 6!!! or a true 8!!!

I'm still waiting for the results of the CT scan, but I have decided it is nothing ...

I'm hoping that the scale will remain the same tomorrow as it is today (or lower) either way ... I will be happy. Jan
