Vibe Beach Club on the Escape...is it that competitive?

Recommended Posts

We did the Vibe on Escape ... 85% of the people are too burned by the end of the first sea day to enjoy it after that. The Vibe is overrated ... you can have a similar experience with several beach towels, a lounger on the sun deck, and a hefty tip for wait staff. I would certainly not stress about trying to get passes and then being disappointed.

Looking for a spot on Getaway on a deck that is QUIET, and SHADED.

Any suggestions?

Just off the Escape and we were boarding group one. The rush to get the passes is like the start of the Amazing race. The cut off was about 60 for this trip.

nothing about the mad dash/rush seems worth it to me...I'll just plop down by the waterfront with my mojitos lol.

If you just want a shaded chair area, deck eight on the waterfront area outside the mojito bar would be a good place or further down outside of Cagney's. If it has to be a lounger, then Spice H2O on deck 16 or wherever you can drag a lounger to find shade on deck 17 would be good options.

the waterfront. I especially liked to read on the comfy chairs on the waterfront right by the outside mojito bar area...close to drinks and to the sea :)

Is Shot Oclock included with the price of the Vibe or do you have to pay for each drink which would be expensive if you didn't have the UBP?

No, it's not included. If you are a drinker and you don't have the UBP, then you're a fool, especially with the price of some of the drinks on NCL.

We were on the Escape last week. We did the “vibe club amazing race”

Here’s how we did it:

Our “scheduled” boarding time was 1130....we totally disregarded that and arrived at the port terminal at 9 am. There were probably 20 passengers already there. There were several families so I thought they were probably not running for the vibe passes since it’s adults only.

We did our check in and were able to get into boarding group 1. I asked the security guard to show me where boarding would begin and I parked myself there, first in line to board the ship. I boarded at 1115 Andy immediately went To Headliners (one floor done when you board the ship). We got numbers 23 and 24. Appparently a lot of Haven guests and lattitudes preferred guest scooped up 1 to 22. By the time they called group 3 all the passes were sold.

We had a great time in the Vibe. The same 20 people were there most days and it was a fun group. The Vibe has really wonderful service..they check your credentials on the first day and will know your name after that. It was very windy a few days but fortunately they never had to close the bar. There is NO MUSIC whatsoever and they do not allow passengers to play music. It is a generally very quiet area until 4ish in the afternoon when the shots start getting poured...then it’s more of a happy hour vibe. A few times other passengers tried to sneak in and they were immediately escorted out. Security is strict in the vibe.

We have been on Escape before and didn’t get the vibe pass and we were quite happy....this time with 2000 kids onboard we were thrilled to have the vibe!

Our experience was almost exactly the same, showed up at 9 AM, we were in boarding group 1, third and fourth person on the ship in this group and got passes 24 and 25.

I would definitely do it again. But next cruise should be easier as we’ll be platinum! [emoji4]

Why would Haven passengers want to get passes to the Vibe Beach Club - don't they have an exclusive club to themselves in the Haven?

Speaking from my own experience this past April on the Breakaway, we stayed in the Haven and still purchased passes to Vibe. Why? No kids. But also because the Haven sundeck doesn't have an easily accessible bar right there. We had also specifically rented one of the cabanas in the Vibe, which also doesn't exist in the Haven.

I am getting the impression that it's really difficult to obtain Vibe passes...thoughts?

Last week, we got there early and in the first wave. They were sold out when we got on the ship! I heard there were large groups buying all the spots. :-( Wish there was a limit to number of people in cabin or something. We picked the first boarding time just so we could get Vibe passes. We've done Vibe twice before and loved it. We really connected with the other people and bartenders. Shot O'Clock! We had Ruby and Renzy on the Escape. I think Rommel was on the Getaway? His name is familiar...

Only the people who were there were able to get passes. The large group probably all had priority boarding.

Those are valid reasons. One you did not mention is the haven sundeck on the Breakaway class ships has no water feature or hot tubs. You must go downstairs to dip in the Haven pool if its not too crowded.

I LOVE how NCL perfected the Haven sundecks on ships after Getaway. There are hot tubs and the deck on Bliss is even better than Escape.

How much is the pass?

How does being platinum benefit you in getting this?

How many passes are there?

Thanks

99.00 for the entire week, first come first served on embarkation day to purchase so those with boarding status would get first crack. Approximately 75 passes.

Better yet keep your money in your pocket and use it elsewhere, the Vibe is more hype than anything else.

The Vibe is a great place to get away from the crowds of the main pool with your own dedicated bartender who knows your name. It's also the same people all week so you make friends easily. There were some day passes available esp. on port days a while back, not sure if they still have them.

Just off of the Escape this am and had the Vibe. We arrived at the port and had boarding group 7, which boarded a few minutes after the Haven guests. My relatives were in the Haven and were able to get the passes for all of us, so we didn't need to rush to Headliners but at that point (around 11:15am), they still had passes available. I heard there were 70 passes for our cruise. It is 100% worth it. You have your own hot pool, basically a hot tub without bubbles, there is a bar, a misting station, plenty of pool chairs. It's the best! If you can, definitely try to get it. All of the waiters were awesome but Roberto who was up there is the best! We saw him at night in Skyliner too and he always was ready to get us our drinks!

We were in group one for boarding. You then need to race everyone up the ramp, down the stairs and over to Headliners. Not everyone in the boarding group is trying for Vibe passes though. We got numbers 46/47. All members of your party must be present before the will hand you the passes. They cut off at about 60 passes on this trip.

Do you think that they would give my husband the passes? I am handicapped and it will take me extra time to get to elevator and get to pick up place. I am nervous all the passes will be distributed before I get there.

Did your relatives from the Haven that got you your passes (don't know how) say that they were indeed now 129 instead of 99? Thanks.

We did pay for those passes and they were $129 per person but definitely worth it. My relatives didn't go thru headliners but got it from their concierge so there is some more wiggle room with that!

I was talking to someone at the Vibe pool that this happened to. One family member got online since they were traveling with others in their party that were handicapped. The employee at headliners would only give them one but they complained and called the hotel director who resolved the issue and got the whole party passes.

I've gotten Vibe passes on both NCL cruises I've taken, the Escape and the Getaway. On Escape we were #1 and 2, on Getaway, #16-20. On Escape, the highest boarding group person who got a pass was group 23.

It is a craps shoot solely because you never know how many are held back for the Haven passengers or how many from pre-general boarding like disabled and large groups want them.

Best advice is get to the port around 8:30, no later than 9, camp out right at the boarding rope and move faster than average when you get in. Other than that, if you don't get them for some reason, go to Guest Services and ask if they can put you on some form of a list because people on both my cruises decided it wasn't worth it and gave them back. My guess is they were Haven guests. Finally, go to the cruise critic meet up and get an officer's card/mention it to one of them ala "I was so looking forward to Vibe but I just missed getting passes is there any way...."

Good Luck! The Escape Vibe was a blast although very, very windy, at least in November. Getaway? The host/head bartender was an enormous buzzkill.

Hint.

If one person is handicapped, the entire family/friend group traveling with that handicapped person can do the pre-boarding. If you do this, you're pretty much guaranteed Vibe passes.
