I will be sailing on the Constellation in May 2018 with mysoon-to-be husband on the 11 night “France Italy and Film” cruise.

We have not been on this ship (or Celebrity for that matter)before. We like to gamble in the evenings, usually table games, no slots.

What is the casino vibe usually like? What are the tableminimum usually? Are there usually fun dealers? Tell me anything you think afist time Celebrity cruiser who likes the casino needs to know!

Thanks!

I've been on the Connie a few times and the vibe in the casino has been pretty low key. Mostly slot players and a few table games going, & especially slow during showtime. I'm a craps player and a few nights it was hard to get more than 1 or 2 other players at the table.I played blackjack a few times & the personality of the dealers left something to be desired.

I think you'll find that the low limit blackjack table usually has players but the higher limit tables are generally empty. Some dealers are great...others just deal with no personality...it really varies and it's luck of the draw. Craps generally gets some players after the late show ends but is rarely close to full. However, as with most things, it varies based on the cruise and the passengers on board.

As far as minimums, sometimes they try $25 minimum tables the first night and then fall back to $10 or $6 the next night when they realize that there are no players...and no players equates to zero revenue.

The celebrity ships I've been on lately have all had $10 minimum on craps. It's hit or miss as far as activity/enthusiasm level. One night on the Equinox last week I spent quite a while at a slot machine waiting for someone (anyone!) to play at the craps table cuz I don't like playing alone. Noone ever materialized. Other nights, I couldn't get a space at all it was so full.

You cannot purchase regular chips with OBC. Instead they will give you "promotional" chips that you cannot cash in. You bet them until you lose them. Of course, when you win the bet they give you back the "promo" chip plus your winnings in regular chips.

Last month on Connie the vibe in the casino varied each night. I played craps one night and that was loud and high fiving all round!!

Table minimums are generally $10 and can be difficult to get a blackjack seat at times. The dealers are ok and respond and join in if you show that's what you want.

The post about OBC and promo chips is at odds with my experience. Never seen that. I was charging chips to my account and got regular chips. They do tell you that they take 5% but drawing $100 sometimes showed as $105 on my account but other times as $100. Not sure why?

AFAIK, all Celebrity ships have changed to the "promotional chips" from the older 5% charge to take money from your OBC. It may vary however depending on whether you have non-refundable OBC left or not. If you are withdrawing your own money (non-refundable OBC) or just charging chips to your bill, they may give you regular chips.

We have been on Equinox. Reflection and Silhouette all in the past year and the casinos in each offered the same types of games, but for poker. Silhouette had a live dealer while Reflection and Equinox had an electronic set up. You should find three card poker, Ultimate Texas Hold 'em, Blackjack and single deck blackjack. There is no Pai Gow, which is a bummer. Expect $10 minimums. They of course have Craps and Roulette as well.

I heartily agree. The personality of the dealers has gone downhill and the tips go down accordingly. It's a shame too.

The craps players have all left it would seem. Another shame.
