Theme nights

It used to be cruise lines had different 'theme' nights, like for instance a 50's night where people - well you get the idea. Does anybody know if they are still doing this and if so, how does one find out what and when?

Dress up theme nights haven't happened much for a number of years. You might have an island or Caribbean night, but no one dresses up in themes anymore.

One of the big big reasons for not having theme nights anymore is simple the airlines and all the luggage/overweight fees... I mean who wants to pack all the extra costumes for theme nights, just to have to pay an extra couple $100 in fees to the airlines. We are truly cattle now a days, and they should just start charging us like the cargo they've been treating us like.

It's been years since people dress for the very few theme nights offered. Just not something most want to do now.

Disney does one theme night - Pirate Night. Some people dress like they belong on a movie set for a pirate movie. Others don't.

Haven't seen theme nights for a while. But Halloween has lots of fun costumes.

2 years ago on a 16 night Celebrity Infinity Panama Canal cruise they held a White Night. People dressed in white and the Grand Foyer and stairwell were draped in white gauze. It was a fun night that lasted well past midnight with music and dancing through all the bars. Officers and staff were very sociable too.

There was also a Cinco de Mayo party on the pool deck with latin music and officers demonstrating the moves.

White night would probably be doable since most cruisers have some white with them.

Apparently MSC always has a White Night, and they have a Carnival party, where you are encouraged to wear a mask. EM

Most cruise lines do not have theme nights anymore.

Cunard does but that is more on the formal side.

Princess often has a 50s night.

We've been on a few cruises over the past 5 years with theme nights. Pirate night comes to mind. Also white and glow parties.

Of course there is always formal night. ;)
