Does Powerade, milkshakes, etc. each count as one drink towards Cheers?

someone advised me that Cheers is not 15 alcoholic drinks and all the bottled water, Powerade, milkshakes, etc., but actually the combination of alcohol and the drinks mentioned above.

We were under the impression that it was up to 15 alcoholic drinks and any of the above.

Which is it?

Did you check Carnival's website?

Yes. It doesn't say if bottled water, milkshakes and so on are part of their non-alcoholic drinks.

There were several bloggers saying that 10 alcohol drinks and 5 Powerades= your 15 drink total on Cheers

Yet others say that it is 15 alcohol drinks including those mixed drinks with alcohol plus as many Poweades and milkshakes you want

So which is it

From the link in post 3

8th bullet point down in the Cheers! Q&A states

—-Program allows for unlimited Zero-Proof beverages but only one beverage at a time may be ordered - sharing is not permitted.

11th bullet point states

——Program allows for up to 15 alcoholic drinks per 24 hour period (6:00am-6:00am); once the limit is reached, the guest will not be served ANY additional alcoholic drinks.

Amazing what’s in the fine print. The second sections clearly delineates what’s included. If you do not want to click on the link, search for Carnival Cheers Package. Amazingly enough it’s written in plain language, not legalese.

I'm sure they have regular decaf coffee but do they have specialty decaf coffee, cappuccino, etc.....that would be included with the cheers program?

thanks

Yes, in the coffee shop they have all kinds of espresso-based drinks and they are included in Cheers. Basically any single-serve drink on the ship is included in Cheers unless the menu price is above $50.

Any self serve beer or wine as well as drinks with souvenir glasses and floaters are all excluded from Cheers. And the fresh squeezed OJ at the Havana bar.

I suggest you believe the several bloggers and conduct yourself accordingly.

I would print Carnival's information on Cheers, as Carnival rules will override "several bloggers saying" - here is a snipped portion, with color highlighting of part of your concern:

Please note: The following beverages are included in the price of your cruise and are served in the Main Dining Room and available 24/7 in the Lido Restaurant: non-bottled water, lemonade, unsweetened iced tea, hot chocolate and non-specialty coffee and tea.

The following beverages are available within the CHEERS! program:

  • All spirits, including cocktails, cognacs, whiskies and other spirits, as well as beer and wine (and Champagne) by the glass, with a $50 USD or lower menu price per serving
  • Zero-Proof frozen cocktails (including smoothies), sodas (including specialty sodas) and juices
  • Specialty coffees and hot tea served in the main dining rooms, specialty restaurants and coffee bars
  • Milkshakes, where applicable
  • RockStar energy drinks, Powerade, Vitamin Water, Coconut Water and Honest Tea
  • 500ml bottled water and other non-alcoholic bottled beverages served in bars and lounges
  • Large format (1 liter and 1.5-liter) bottles of water in the main dining rooms and specialty restaurants
  • 25 percent discount off the menu price for any spirit, cocktail or wine by the glass, costing above $50 USD per serving
  • 25 percent discount off the menu price for wine and champagne by the bottle and larger format water bottles purchased outside the main dining rooms or specialty restaurants
  • 25 percent discount off beverage seminars and classes

Please read the whole page for verification of how it pertains to you. Nowhere does it state that nonalcoholic drinks apply to the 15 drink limit. If you add a shot to your drink though (spiked coffee), that would.

There is a mention of groups of 30 or more - you may want to call Carnival about that for your group.
