Odd but great items to take with you

I always take a couple of clothespins in case the curtains don't stay closed properly. I also take a few different sizes of bungee cords in case of rough weather. They can be used to keep the cupboard doors from opening, closing, opening, closing. :) Not sure if it's the same on all ships but I have taken magnets and used them to post schedules, notes, reminders onto the cabin walls which are magnetic.

When we cruise with family and the younger grandchildren, I take blinking LED Ice Cubes that I order on eBay. We've done 2 Christmas cruises, and I packed red and green "ice cubes." (Of course, I sanitized before using.) When we were seated for dinner, I dropped cubes in everyone's water glass and also put the little votive candles in Christmas colors at each plate. Lots of people came over to our table to ask where we got them. Fun!

+1 for this idea. We hang our Compass and tickets for events, etc. so we don't miss them on the way out of the room. So easy to pack.

We always bring one or two of these as well:

These are especially useful if you have an inside room. The numbers are big enough to read (for us) without glasses and it's easy to find the button to light them up to see. They are super light and run for a really long time on one battery. It's nice to not have to wake up all the way to find out the time.

Magnetic Clips - like the ones you put on your fridge to clip papers with!

Your cabin walls are all metal. They are great for keeping the compass up out of the way and easy to find. I started bringing 4 or 5 to keep the cabin nice and tidy from all the papers!

We always bring one or two bottles of Soft Soap for our bathroom. Much easier to use to wash hands than picking up a bar of soap. I also bring individual hand wipes which I carry with me. Good for using after reading menus, on casino buttons etc. Baby powder to get sand off your feet on the beach. I use a wipe off board that is magnetic. to write things like times of events, phone numbers, cabin numbers of friends. You can find one at Dollar stores.

I bring a tiny speaker to listen to music...better than listening off of ipad, iPhone

Extra dry cleaning hangers (we leave after cruise)

Big insulated mug with lid (to use for soda or tea at pool)

Own beach towels (easy to find our deck chairs)

Post its ( to leave notes for room attendant)

Business cards (to give to new friends so we can keep in touch)

Now...if you REALLY want to pack every possible thing, go to Calgon's Ultimate packing list ..there is one for warm weather and one for cold. It has been around forever and is legendary! :)
