Not on the ship but I just took on & here's what they look like. Just picture it filled with ice & the beer of your choice. Notice it even has a bottle opener attached, how convenient.;)

Thank you sooooo much, everyone has been waiting to see what the cooler looks like. Great picture.

There is nothing worse than over analysing something, BUT (lol), Just for the benefit of doubt… to take advantage of this offer, when taking the holder back to get re-fills, do you keep the holder again and thus can always get 8 bottles for a 25% discount throughout your voyage?

Or do you have to buy 8 fullprice, 8 with 25% discount then 8 fullprice, 8 with 25% discount etc etc

From what I have read, you buy the bag and get 8 beers at some discounted price.

You keep the bag. Take bag back every time and get the beers at the discounted price and you do not have to buy another bag subsequently.

So it may or may not come with the beer of your choice , it may cost anywhere between 38.95 and 25 dollars, seems we have it nailed down. :D

We do now know what the cooler looks like though:p

After 8 pages not bad:cool:

Steve, we'll be on Majesty Friday and will post what we find out from on board the ship. :)

OK, I did a search, and following is the OP response:

Yes I made the post. It was on Majesty. Bar staff said it came out a week ago. It will be fleet wide. Don't know if all ships are doing it yet. First 8 beers and the cooler for $33. you keep the cooler(any beer except Fosters Oil Can, you can mix em up if you want.) Bring the cooler back and 8 for $25 the rest of the cruise. Grat extra. Cooler also has a built in bottle opener, too. They were all around the pool and saw quite a few carried around the ship and in the casino. Seemed to go over very well.

I know I started the thread after I found his mention of it on another thread , he nailed it down , then it has done a 180 and 360 on price and what you can do. :p Kind of like bucket of beer prices , I always get a kick out of people saying I know there are 4 or 5 or 6 and the cost is 15 20 25  of course I sometimes do think different ships do have different interpratatons on policies and rules and how things are done. So I guess we will see as people come back and post there findings.

Thanks for posting the picture keasc.

I like the idea of getting a better price overall and I bet we will give it a try. That being said, I do find the idea on the tacky side. Seeing people carrying coolers all around the classy areas of the ship like the restaurants/casinos seems like a low class move by the cruise line.

We've never sailed RCI before, but have enjoyed Princess & Carnival a lot. Some make Carnival out to be a lower partying crowd, but I've never observed people carrying a cooler about in public spaces like you would whencamping on any previous cruises.

But like I said, my guess is we will end up with one too on our upcomming RCI cruise! Can't resist a better deal! I am just surprised the cruise line thought this one up.

Tacky goes both ways.

You set foot on the ship, and your family is given a big smile, a welcome aboard, and funky welcome drink. Nice!

Then you see the charge of $37.50 on you account later.

Hmmm, so if I can buy 10 RCI coolers for $5 each, and take them on the cruise, I could buy beers for ..... and sell them for ...... or sell coolers for ..... ????

Let me do the math on this.

Okay lets do the math they are charging you like $10 including tip for the cooler , whats the best deal including shipping are you going to get that on ebay ? At best 5 bucks , so you save 5 dollars . Hardly worth the suitcase space. :p

Saw them on the MN this weekend and they were a lot smaller than I thought.....but I guess if its big enough for 8 bottles, that's all you need....

I didn't realize it was an over the shoulder kind of bag..........

Oh, things don't have to be worth anything to sell on ebay! Once on ebay I saw a "complete collection" of Disney disembarkation luggage tags -- one in every color. They put these out by Guest Relations on Disney so that people who need an extra tag can help themselves. I can't imagine who would PAY for a thin piece of colored cardboard.

Okay, okay, they DID have Disney characters on them, but still . . .
