Luggage Tags-Color Printer Required?

I was about to print off our luggage tags and realized that there is a bit of light blue color on the tags. Do the luggage tags need to be printed in color? Are there different colors for different decks?

Thanks

Nick

Are you aware that you don't need to print the luggage tags at all? They are available at the pier when you turn your bags over to the porters.

If you really do want to print them, do so, and they can be replaced at the pier if they're not all right.

The luggage tags do not need to be printed on a color printer. As suggested by RuthC, you can use the luggage tags available at the pier; however, you will need to fill in your cabin number and name. Go ahead and print the luggage tags in black and white and attach to your luggage before you get to the pier. You will save yourself a little bit of time when you arrive at the pier.

They can be color or black and white... doesn't matter. There's a different color for each ship.

This is also from before Nieuw Amsterdam came out (I've seen those but don't recall the color right away) This is also the style available at the pier that Ruth mentioned.

Or there's this, which is the print ahead, fold and tape/staple ones

No, the only thing that varies with cabin location is the "routing code" following the cabin number in DBA's post of the Volendam tag.

Yes, the porters do have "generic" luggage tags with them (or nearby) but black and with is fine. Please consider printing them in b/w. Earlier this month my sister and I were on the Zuiderdam. She printer hers, I waited to get them at the pier. Her luggage arrived much earlier than mine and we were in similar cabins across the ship from each other. The routing codes do help get your luggage to the right place on the ship.

This is great advice to pre-PRINT them since you don't want to have to get into another line up at the pier putting your cabin tags on. We print our and put them on after we pick up our luggage at the airport and remove the airline tags to avoid confusion. I can also confirm that if you do not pre-print you will not have routing info and it will take longer for your bag to find your cabin since they will end up on a cart where they will need extra sorting since we had booked four cabins in a row on HAL and those that pre-printed got their luggage about two hours after boarding, those that did not pre-print got theirs just before sailing.
