Back on land. My Escape experience was great, as long as I stayed away from the congested adult pool area. Sure looks good in pictures but doesn't translate into an open adult area.

The food was good, and with the beverage pkg by the end off the week I was glad I brought"stretchy"clothes.

When you lay out your clothes for leaving the ship on final day. Try them on before getting rid of your suitcases. So glad I did. Yep, mine were too tight and I had to rethink that outfit!

Silly girl - everyone knows the salt air shrinks your clothes!:p;)

I am 10 days pre cruise and it's all I can think about - lists and lists going thru my head day and night! LOL.

I did bring the suitcase up last night and the rolling duffle is already in the den with a few things leftover from the last cruise?

I have a pile of packing cubes on the couch in the den ready to be filled and I am once again trying NOT to overpack and stay under that nasty 50 lb limit!

toes are done (had a pedi coupon that was expiring and since it's winter I figured they should last 2 weeks before I cruise?)...hair apt this Saturday and shellac nails right before I leave.....

Otherwise just itching to get out of freezing cold weather and put my toes in the sand!!:D

Haha! So right! They do seem to fit better now tho. Have a wonderful time!

I'm so sad I don't have one booked. Usually am one ahead. A fall cruise is calling me tho. Lived our Halloween cruise last year!

I noticed on the Celebrity Eclipse the fashion was quite nice. Even though they no longer have formal night and subbed with Evening Chic, folks looked nice. Maybe it was the age or the fact it was 2 weeks long the dress was very nice:)

Happy!

Please tell us how you liked Norwegian Escape, I would like to try that one.

We had a regular balcony cabin. 10180, connecting to 82. I would recommend the location. First two rooms off hallway to elevator, and just two floors above Tobacco Bar, so quick to get a drink. They allowed us to open the balcony into one. I'd heard they wouldn't allow it anymore. I actually opened it with my car keys, but they came that night to do it. I liked it better than the Getaway. In all areas except the pool. Don't know why NCL hasn't figured out how to design that areas. By covering so many areas, it's hard to find chairs in the sun. And the pool it's do crowded. The three included restaurants are the same. The smoke in the casino was less noticeable. All the decor and seating were much nicer. Traveling with 30 yr olds I thought it had more to offer for that age group than Getaway. Splash Academy was awesome. Such cool design for the space. The@la carte restaurants were very nice. Easy to get just appetizers or main courses. We never had to wait long before being seated. We loved the shows, but unfortunately they're being rotated out. O'Sheehans is exactly the same. We sat in the atrium for the Super Bowl and very comfy chairs. The children's ropes course is longer than Getaway and so is the adult one. Margaritaville was never crowded and closes at 4. We had a great time, but doubt I'll repeat NCL in near future. We booked because of the booking incentives. And because we're taking each of our children(adults) on cruises. 3 down, 1 to go. It's not booked and they are using this year's vacation time for their honeymoon! I wool recommend it if the pool isn't real important to you. While in port was when I went.

No, I don't consider myself a "fashionista" BUT - I love planning every detail of every outfit. When all the work is done before SailAway, so much time is saved onboard. I would LOVE to hear what other like-minded clothes-lovers have to say!

Surely, there are others out there who love the tropical clothes and enjoy the process of planning and the comfort of knowing each outfit will be interesting, fun and appropriate???

It has nothing to do with pleasing strangers on a cruise ship, but rather the same kind of self-pampering one gets from having a really good mani-pedi or massage.

In a spare bedroom I assemble every possible clothing item, shoes, jewelry, accessory; then start to build outfits for each occasion. The first is for travel to the ship and (usually) SailAway the same day. We've been leaving out of Baltimore recently so there's no overnight stay in Florida.

Every outfit gets tried on - under garments to accessories - assessed, tweeked and put into a spreadsheet for each occasion. Sometimes DH is consulted - "Which shoes (earrings, top, etc.) looks better?

When it's time to pack, every item gets ironed the day before and layered in the suitcase(s) with tissue paper.

Surprisingly, I only take 1 big suitcase + a carry-on - and a big purse.

I just found this thread and absolutely love it. I do the exact same thing that you do before all of my cruises. We do go down to Florida 1 or 2 days before the cruise, so I need to add outfits for that. But, it is all part of the planning and anticipation. I actually put everything on hangars after ironing and cover with large plastic bags (garbage bags) and everything arrives just as fresh as when I packed it.

I'm joining back in for our cruise in 37 days!

I'm going with a new color this time around - I've stuck with my blues and turquoise for so long, that I'm leaning toward coral/grapefruit and also some aqua (can't get rid of blue 100%!)

I just bought some coral colored Clarks flip flops, on sale at JC Penney's this week. My new swim suit is also those shades. I need to do some shirt shopping, I think I"ll be doing that this weekend.

Have fun! There's so many spring things available in gorgeous colors. Those colors compliment each other so well.

I'm really looking forward to Vista. You'll have come back here and give your opinion.

I'm packing, but for my son's wedding in Guatemala. He's 39, first marriage, and as you can imagine, I'm over the moon. Thought it'd never happen. It's warmer there than here in Indiana, and going straight back to Florida from there. With a short hop to Disney. Come April 15 I'll be back home looking to book a cruise this fall! Have to delay booking till the heavens align!

We just got back home yesterday from our 10 night Royal Princess cruise. This was our fifth cruise since Dec. and I think I could stand a little time on land. I did buy some more of those island dresses. They are easy to pack.

We did four roll on carry ons. We took our bag on the ship ourselves, had lunch in the dinning room, and was unpacked by PM. I can't believe what I fit into those bags. Including my DH tux. I had four island dresses, three slips, four pairs of pants ( waist bag to match) and tops. Two skirts and tops to match. Four shrugs, one shawl three bags for evenings. Formal pants and two Asian tops. Socks, and lots of undies. Bathing suit and cover-up. And all the toilet articles. I would say that my stuff took up about one full carry-on and 3/4 of a second. My Dh about the same. We had extra space o pack the liquor (two bottles) that he brought is one bag.

The best part is that we came home with two days of dirty clothes out of ten. Princess washes, irons and dry cleans as much as you want for free being elite members. It was great every day I would put the days clothes in a bag and send them out. Even his undershirts came back presses and on a hanger!

With walk off (take your own luggage off) we were off the ship at 6:30 and home by 10:30 by taking our time.

Now starts the looking and planning our next cruise. But I think it will be at the end of the year.

OMG, there's hope yet!!! My oldest is a 39-yo bachelor, and I've given up hope. But, you've renewed it!

Congrats!

Ok I need to see what everyone thinks of this outfit for a boarding outfit for our June cruise . I have never worn bold colors and patterns for pants before so trying to get out of my comfort zone and just looking for some opinions.

Have a great day everyone
