Show off your high sign and sail bill.....

Let's face facts. The cruise lines make it very easy to spend money. And it's fun too. We prepurchase a 5 day wine package from Bon Voyage. We prepay our gratuities when we book. We book our excusions privately but we never get off without a $2,000 bill. Like someone said a bucket of beer don' t last long. Pictures are a must (and we've been on 13 cruises) as a reminder of each stop and how we looked at this age. Formal night is a great family pic. We LOVE Chocolate martinis ($15 a piece) and we have been know to buy some for the folks around us. It's so fun to make a stranger happy. Gift shop purchases- the obligitory tshirt. Martini tasting. And this trip my DD9 and her little friend enjoyed 2 spa treatments. We had had a great trip and will plan on spending atleast that much on our next cruise too.

All of the above are perfect expenses IMHO...hehe. I especially like the surprising a stranger! Once in a while when I go to a Starbucks drive-thru I'll pay for the car behind me...makes me feel so happy! :p

lol...this sounds like a horror story!.....care to share more details?? ;)

I don't want to hijack the OP's thread... again I'll just say, never rent a vehicle on your own in Cozumel. The Policia there are not the most honest bunch; lots of set-ups and shake-downs go on over there.

This I can relate to. Myself, husband an then 8 year old son. $1285.00. It was the best cruise we have taken. Absolutely nothing to show for it, but some really great memories, and enough DOD cups to fill our bar at home. At our house the adults drink poolside from a Carnival drink of the day cup. the kids have the whale tale cups!

It's been 7 longs years since our last cruise and I believe our bill for my husband and I was around $500 strictly on drinks. Sure hope some of you big spenders are on my cruise in Oct on Triumph cuz I love being around fun people!

5700+ for myself and wife for our 10th anniversary on Alaska, not Carnival.

We don't drink, gamble, partake in expensive for pay activities, only one expensive excursion glacier helictoper landing as she was in her 8th month with our third.

Our big mistake is we had fun at the art auction.

You found a cruise line and a helicopter charter company willing to take a woman in her eighth month of pregnancy?

Waited a long time to go on the Oasis and I was a little crazy with the spending. I also fell in love with the cucumber martinis (12-15 Apiece), and the very cute margarita glasses ( yes I have an entire set). Found Izumis on the third day and had the best lobster soaked in champagne sushi that I've ever had, accompanied by lemongrass saki (still craving that) to wash down the sushi rolls (all ala carte pricing)! Bought so much in labadee from the vendors ( didn't mind since I'm sure they need the money) that I had to buy a rolling duffle bag on board to get it all home. Also found some jewelry made out of glass that was beautiful and was only about $200.00 in the ships store. Gambling was not put on the the sail & sign card, tips were pre paid, and excursions were privately booked. Needless to say when I got the multi-paged bill the last nite I had to go the the infirmary for chest pain (kidding)!!! The total for one.....drum roll please...$1203.00! Would I do it again? in a heart beat. Booked another trip, same ship and itinerary as soon as I got home. Going on the dream for Thankgiving and my dream is to watch that spending. Can you say overtime? I work very hard for my money and I hate to have to budget on vacation. I would rather take fewer cruises and spend what I want while on board. I know that others feel differently. Happy cruising. I'm glad to know my bill isnt even close to some other posters. Makes me feel a tad bit better!!!

REALLY? HOW MUCH ARE PEOPLE SPENDING? I BELIEVE I'VE HEARD IT ALL NOW.......really?

If you don't like the topic, why did you come in and read and post? You know what they say, if you don't have anything nice to say...

Just trying to have a little fun here.:)

wow, Im a lightweight. Our 7 day cruise in April had a whopping bill of about $330. $140 was the auto tips, $70 for the Steakhouse and I spent about $30 in the gift shop on a couple of things. Rest was my drinks. I had pre bought drink coupons for hubby , $100 worth. Ill try harder this next cruise...lol

Family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 kids 7 days on the Pride = $950. I was "hoping" to keep it around $100 a day, but we didn't have a strict budget.

Includes a $240 in excursions, $280 in gratuities, kids clubs "parties," casino, $70 in Bingo, soda stickers for three of us (don't recommend doing that again), and beer, wine and frozen drinks. I should probably go see how many Miami Vice's I bought. $34 in souvenirs. Around $60 for pictures.

booze, gift shop and casino... its not that we drink like fish but when you add up 7 days of drinking with the first day and sea days the heaviest, it adds up at 8 bucs a pop(drink and tip)

Yup yup. My highest was $3820.00 for an 8- nighter... And we had pre-paid tips...

On our 2nd weekend cruise, to Ensenada, we went with another couple. We hit the art auction one afternoon, and thanks to Grey Goose, we spent just over $6,000 on art work. (The cold hard facts of what we had done really hit home when we sobered up enough to sign the paperwork that evening, and yes is was a fun afternoon!) We also had an $800 bar tab for the weekend. Our friends spent just over $4,000 at the auction and had about the same for a bar tab. Combined we spent almost $12,000 between Friday night and Monday morning. Talk about sobering..... we learned our lesson.

I was knocked back like $8500 on a Peter Max. Like you, I will never go to the art auction drunk again... I have it at the top of my stairs and I look at it every day and remember not to drink and shop! Although I did feel like Donald Trump during the process, they do a good job of buttering you up.

On our last cruise, our two sons were teenagers and we racked up about $800 (tips, prepaid) for the four of us. We let our boys have their own cards as well because we knew that they'd be with the group for teens and wanted to be able to purchase sodas (the soda package wasn't worth the $$ for us). They did buy an occasional item in the gift shop, but all in all, they never went over the spending limit we set, so we actually came in way under our budget we set for the week. :D

I agree, and if you want to really see someone's face light up......wait until you have a waiter that is just super top notch, goes beyond your expectations....then when the bill comes, just tip them 100%!! I have done this 3 times total so far and the look on their face is priceless!!

$140 for two for a seven-night.

Yep, the only item on the account was the gratuities.

6.60 was ours. (we prepaid tips, excursions that cruise- but I really wanted to try the Choc mocha frozen drink)
