We just finished the Vancouver to Honolulu run with Rhapsody and have only good things to say about Amit. "Big A" (at 5' 8") was really one of the most proactive Concierges we've had. I wonder if he (they) were twins...he was always available and handled any request we had with aplomb and efficiency. If anyone has his services, they will enjoy their cruise.

I have never met him in person,but I can tell by his emails that he is super nice.......would love to meet him..

Just off the Brilliance of the Seas and had Betsy Medrano as Concierge! Did not impress any of us, she never greeted anyone that came into the room. She sat most of the time reading her e-mail. Hope all of you had a better time in the Concierge Lounge with her than we did.

I agree with you 100%!!! we did the crossing in Sept, and we did not use the concierge, due to the Cappuccino machine being down almost all the time!

Hopefully it's working now, because we will be on BR, doing B2B in Dec!!!

Betsy, was not a great, or even good concierge: I see that she will be going on vacation on Dec 8; wish that the NEW concierge, for our second cruise, will be more attentive!!!

Last year I asked Luca if he would be back on Mariner, and at that time he said he would be taking his vacation a few weeks before the TA and would return at that time. The list above shows Erik, now in the CL, as being in the DL as of Nov. 2. That should be the date of Luca's return. I am so looking forward to cruising with Luca again. What a great guy! I am also wondering how he will handle the Diamonds in Dec. group now that there is a D lounge on Mariner. I'll bet that there will be part of the Viking Crown for overflow.

On the westbound TA last year, Ellington's was used for the D+ cocktail hour and the CL was for Suite guests due to the large number of Diamond Plus onboard. The Dragon's Liar was used for the nightly Diamond event. It will be interesting to see how Luca will handle the large number of Diamonds and above now that the 19th Hole has become the Diamond Lounge.

We sailed Freedom of the Seas last week and Rahul is back in the Diamond Lounge. When we sailed on Sept 2 and Sept 9th, he was the Suite Concierge and Marcelous was taking his place in the Diamond Lounge.

 

We booked the Legend of the Seas for December, 2013 while onboard and that afternnoon we mentioned to Rahul our plans. He said after his vacation, he would be leaving the Freedom and in January he would be joining Legend. He will be the Concierge taking care of Suites and Diamond Plus.

 

Rahul's replacement in the Diamond Lounge has not been decided but when I find out, I will let you know.

Yes it is and he would grin if he knew I spelled his name wrong. People call him Marcelous, so guess that is why I did it. :D He did a fantastic job in the lounge those two weeks and fingers are crossed he gets the job. If everyone put on their survey forms how they expressed themselves those two weeks, we got a winner. Other people are also being considered but you know who I want.

 

Do you know Marcelo? By the way, Willy is suppose to be staying.

That is really too bd. Marcelo Mello is so good and the nicest person. I know one woman was very impressed by the fact that he remembered her and her name when he saw her on the Promenade. He is tops. Maybe they'll rethink who should be there
