What are the perks of FCC?

Do a thread search on FCC you will get quite a few posts with lots of details.

In short, you can buy as many $100 FCCs as you want per person. Each one can be used as the entire deposit on a future cruise sailing within 4 years and you get on board credit based on type of cabin and length of voyage.

Unused FCCs are refunded and you can only use one FCC per cruise.

As I've never cruised before, so please excuse my dumb question. What are the advantages of purchasing FCC while on board? How much should one buy and how does FCC apply for future bookings? Thanks.

The FCC can be used as your deposit. In other words, other than the FCC, no other payments are due until final payment. It's worry free booking that allows you to book early, choose your cabin at no real risk or of laying out real ($1000) cash that also allows you to get early discounts and all price reductions. As others have said, there is also additional on board credit based on cabin level and duration of cruise.

FCCs can only be purchased on board a Princess ship and only in the name of persons actually on the ship.

When you redeem them for a future cruise, you would use one per person (using ones in the name of each person) for the first two people in a cabin in order to get the OBC that comes with it.

As it is your deposit, the FCC in the end does not actually cost you any money beyond what you would have spent on your next cruise and you get the free money (OBC) when you sail after using it.

You apply an FCC when you actually book a cruise. This can be:

a) On board a Princess ship with the Future Cruise consultant;

b) Over the phone with Princess

c) With any travel agent

(b) and © need to be done over the phone (or also in person with a TA) because an online booking does not usually give the option of applying an FCC.

I've booked on-line with a large discount internet travel agency. Just phone them and ask them if you can book using a FCC on line.

You want to get one FCC for each person for each cruise you plan to book.

But - to clarify - FCCs can only be bought for passengers actually on the sailing. E.g., if your daughter isn't onboard, no FCC for her.

Awhile back they had a deal where you could "invite" others to join you on a cruise booked with a FCC and they also got the reduced deposit plus OBC.

Doesn't happen very often

FCC's have only become available to Australian Princess passengers recently. It's a definite plus for us not having to book with a four-figure deposit.

Thankyou Princess.:D

Be warned, this low deposit can be really dangerous in terms of temptation to cruise.....please note the number of future cruises I have booked:p

Most Travel Agents will periodically offer Princess cruises with only a $100 deposit required. Of course you do not get OBC unless you used an FCC, but you can get the low deposit.
