Room Service! Posted March 30, 2012 #201 Share Posted March 30, 2012 I believe that the op's comment referred to people who take up tables in the buffet to read a book, play cards, etc. I think erbunny knows that. I don't think you should have to give up the table for someone else, no matter what you're doing at the table. If you are sitting there you are using it. Some like to play cards/games outside. You can't very well do that laying in a lounger.

Room Service! Posted March 30, 2012 #203 Share Posted March 30, 2012 How do you figure that? If they're using the table they are not 'hogs'. I don't think there are signs anywhere saying that the tables are for eating only.

I agree .... if you are talking about the tables inside, but if we're talking a bout the tables outside, I disagree. It's okay to disagree. girloverboard Posted March 30, 2012 #207 Share Posted March 30, 2012 Well I agree about control freaks staying home BUT I laughed so hard when they mentioned above about not complaining about kids because the hoverrounds are annoying too...still laughing! Seriously, my son was run over by one in DisneyWorld because of an over weight lady on one couldnt walk to the stall without it! I was NOT laughing then because my poor boy was 4 and scared to death. I wont say what i said...wouldnt be very courteous of me! LOL BASIC RULE: COMMON COURTESY and enough said!
jakeHOU97 Posted March 30, 2012 #208 Share Posted March 30, 2012 If you don't need to be at a table in/out on the ship, there are tables everywhere. On the Magic, theres tables on the Lanai, the lower magical way, ect. I even saw some people eating lunch in the Vibe nightclub one day...

funfamilyfun Posted March 31, 2012 #211 Share Posted March 31, 2012 That sounds very judgmental. First of all, you can't always tell if people are young and healthy. Plenty of people have invisible illnesses. For example, I've dealt with knee pain for years, and for the past two years I've been taking elevators up/down 1 floor. However, I look perfectly healthy, and you'd never know the difference. Also, why do you care so much if someone takes an elevator up/down 1 floor? Why should it matter??? It's none of your business and doesn't effect your life. I agree with the original poster...lucky Z....I think Lucky Z meant...that the people who COULD walk without a problem or a hidden illness/injury could walk. I bet some people just don't think about walking the stairs...but now that they have the idea, maybe they will.

Godiva5 Posted March 31, 2012 #214 Share Posted March 31, 2012 .....My point is, some parents these days feel their special little angels are above even the basics of social manners. I don't really know why some parents raise their kids this way, but they do.. These kids eventually grow up.. PROVERBS 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. It's that parents responsibility to teach their special little angels to understand good, appropriate behavior and act on it. If the parents don't lead by (good) example....what can you expect? dhill Posted April 1, 2012 #216 Share Posted April 1, 2012 Unfortunately, the courts would not help me. They tell me I can't just decided I can't handle him. They consider that abandonment and I could be charged with child abandonment. I know, I know, this sounds rediculous, and I have gone thru my 'shock' on hearing this. And yes, I do have a younger daughter, and it is very difficult for her. I have to focus on her, and I am. My son is currently living with a grandparent. But if for some reason that doesn't work out, he will have to come back to me. I agree he has to want to get well, and right now the only thing on his mind is having fun, cuz 'that's what teenagers do'. A LIITLE OFF TOPIC DONT YOU THINK ? Cruise4Music Posted April 1, 2012 #218 Share Posted April 1, 2012 when did a cruise ship become a library. one rule: when you book a cruise, realize you are paying to share a ship. those that you share with have quirks you may not be used to. save your rules for where you are in total control, like home. trying to instill them in public is fruitless. there are no hall moniters. and let those enforcing the law enforce it. You mean like dress codes and smoking?:D:D

A2Mich Posted April 1, 2012 #220 Share Posted April 1, 2012 'zactly! True, but the point is that "not everything goes." I think society's overall attitude is that "if it doesn't say I can't do something, then it's fair game." Sorry, but some common courtesy and decency needs to be there as well. Just because there is not a sign saying "no farting in the elevator," that doesn't make it OK to do it.

misstopgun Posted April 1, 2012 #225 Share Posted April 1, 2012 I have offended a couple unintentionally for offering to share my wine. We had anytime dining and my husband chose to stay in the casino that evening so I was seated with another couple. I ordered my bottle of wine and offered to share it with my tablemates who as it turned out, were very religious. I got to hear about it why they choose not to drink throughout the meal while I guiltily tried to enjoy my wine. Since then I have never offered. I just assume that anyone who wants wine will order their own. I am not about to open that can of worms again.
