Australian billionaire Clive Palmer to build Titanic II

Recommended Posts

Poor old Clive.

He's lost his money, he's lost his reputation, he's lost the credibility he had with his dudded Queensland refinery workers, and he's apparently lost touch with his Nephew, who has disappeared overseas rather than make himself available for court appearances.

On the plus side, he hasn't lost any weight.

He did have a dramatic weight loss - but managed to get it all back, maybe plus some more. Similarly, he lost a lot of money - then managed to get a lot back when the Supreme Court found in his favour in his dispute with the Chinese company. (A pity about that!) He lost his political party and his political reputation - it remains to be seen if he will get it all back. His political message sounds interesting. He has borrowed a couple of elements - the respected historic name of an Australian political party and some of Donald Trump's messages (Make America Great Again morphed into Make Australia Great). Interesting times ahead.

I still don't believe he will ever build Titanic II. If he does, it will soak up a lot of money even after construction. Just imagine the cost of running a cruise line that has only one ship.

Sounds about right Everything else he touched has sunk but it would be better if he spent his spare cash repaying those people he swindled
Like a lot of other bankrupts, they owe a lot but still seem to live a charmed life.

If you owe the bank $500,000 it is your problem

If you owe the bank $500,000,000 it is theirs.

I am confused, but then I was never a money man.:o Apart from spending it that is.

Clive says work has recommenced. Tacky and insensitive.

The businessman announced plans to build Titanic II in 2012, but construction was suspended in 2015 due to financial constraints.

With him and whose money?

That was the chink in the beginning, and things are even worse now in that respect.

Just attention seeking.
