Exactly

Each day is a tray of new treats like chocolate covered strawberries, etc.

But you can request anything you like. Our butler used to keep a tray of nuts and pretzels in our cabin but our next cruise I am asking for gummy bears :)

They also keep you stocked with fresh fruit, grapes, bananas, apples, etc

On our last cruuise on the Jewel, I ate the gummi bears (Haribo Gold Bears) in the mini bar. The replaced them with Black Forest Brand. I asked if they could get more of the Haribo Bears since they were my favorite as a kid. Each day after that I had a big bowl of Haribo Bears on the table. I never askef for free bears, but your Butler can get them. :D

We normally don't demand much from the Butler, but I've found if you ask about anything it seems to appear even if we were just trying to find out if it was available anywhere on board. I also found that asking the concierge about things like the Murder Mystery lunch, got us a reservation for it  It ended up akay since we enjoyed it.

So if you aren't sure you want something you may need to make sure they know you are only asking a question.

So you can request something like "no seafood"? My daughter isn't a big fan unless it's crab legs or lobster.

However we both LOVE chocolate covered strawberries!:D

Your butler will noramlly talk to you the first day. On our last cruise he asked what we would like each day for snacks. You can ask for no seafood, but they may forget and bring some. Remember EACH Butler covers about 10-12 suites. So if you expect the butler to drop everything when you call, it may not happen. They will respond as soon as they can. :)

I'm not sure is chocolate covered strawberries would be delivered every day (they seem to be offered only once on most perks like lattitudes etc) but you can always ask. ;)

Last cruise (our first suite) we did not ask our butler for anything..(he was brand new and seemed so overwhelmed)...this time we do hope to meet him/her early and let them know our preferences..for snacks, etc. We are very low maintainence...but hope we can make it easier for them to let them know ahead the few things we require...

Sometimes that happens. It may not have been they are new. Some people complain they are "bugged" constantly by their butler. So some butlers do not offer things (aka bug them) unless the passenger makes requests. They let the passengers be and alone unless asked for something.

I guess it is a fine line when dealing with the masses

He told us he had just boarded...(as did our steward..which made things even more confused)...and he told us he was having some problems with pay getting to his family ---(a co worker was to deliver his pay...and had not done so at that time)..so he was very preoccupied..All during the cruise he was "jumpy" and anxious....The only time we called on him was every time the coffee pot stopped working...it seems he did not service it daily...

Chips and salsa (whoo hoo we are Texans)

Cheese and crackers

Choc covered s'berries

My mother loved the s'berries. Had them so many times in our 14 dqys on the Sun it was heaven!

I wouldn't expect him to drop everything when I call. "If" I even call. I'm low maintenance also and very laid back and patient when it comes to dealing with people. I plan on having a plate of chocolate covered strawberries ordered as a gift for my daughter through the Bon Voyage gifts. If he brings us some on other days fine, if not that's also fine.

Yeah, that sounds like a problem

I hate to be a squeaky wheel and complain but he should not have been promoted to butler. A good butler will always make sure you are happy because he likes those tips :)

On Epic we had a great butler but she was WAY too busy. We only asked for room service once we ordered 2 drinks to be delivered. She could not even do it because she was escorting friends of suite guests to the theater. So a waiter delivered the drinks all the way from the atrium bar. That is one downside of Epic. 75 suites and the service suffers in the Haven. On small ships like Sky we had amazing butlers, concierge, and service.

I kind of felt sorry for him...and did tip him nicely...BUT--this time I will be more clear/assertive on our few needs....and follow up if needed...;)

Are sodas and bottled water included in suite perks?

NO, only the owners suite get unlimited water and soda.

All other suites get 2 one liter bottles of water only. Every suite gets a bottle of sparkling wine and fruit too.

Except for the owners suite, they will charge you for every can of soda removed from the fridge :(

In the Owners' Suites, Deluxe Owners' Suites and the Garden Villas.

Oh well. :(

I've booked a Deluxe Penthouse Suite (10000) on the POA and just had to ask. Not worth the extra $$$ for free soda and bottled water for two people. So I'll be happy and either pay a few bucks for their soda card or bring along a couple of six packs from shore.

I am allergic to shellfish and don't like most other types of fish especially when made into a mousse. We requested chocolate, cookies, anything but fishy stuff but got chocolate only twice. We asked our butler twice to not bring it but kept getting fishy stuff. Hope you have better luck than we did.

We had Charlie on our Epic cruise last September and he was wonderful. We mentioned the potato chips with blue cheese the first day we were there and they magically appeared every afternoon along with the snack of the day throughout the cruise. He may have moved to the Jade but he made our trip very special!

We have always found these so called canapes to be just nasty. I once threw them over board and the fish nor birds touched them/

DH ate some of them but our butler just couldn't get it even though we left them untouched and told him the first day and third day that we wanted anything but fish.
