Hi Lois and Judy,

I see that Judy is on our cruise. I also noticed that Judy follows me on the Constellation.

Right now Lois and I are the only ones signed up for the CC Party.

We'll have to do better than that!

I think we're going to love the Summit. Hope they'll have our table waiting for us in the Martini Bar at 7:00, sounds about right.

Hi Lois! I am so happy for you to be cruisin' the Summit in October. As you may (or may not!) recall, my family and I are on the Summit in August to Alaska. I'll be SURE to check out the martini bar and let them know you're coming! Please someone tell me -what is a Van Gogh Flirtini? Sounds like something I am certain to like!!

Hi everyone,

We LOVE Summit. As Lucy (lmkohler) said, we met every night at 7 sharp. If he's still there, as for Easton mon! From Jamaica. He took execllent care of all of us. He knew our every wish before we even sat down. The crew and staff on Summit in March were overwhelmingly friendly and helpful.

Now the band, I think it was Onyx, weren't that great. Voltz is terrific and, yes, the girl singer is the best yet. The entertainment has improved dramatically and we enjoyed the variety shows. As Lucy said, many of the later shows are now earlier which made it great for us who had late seating and stayed in the dining room until we had to run down the passageway to get to the theater to see some of them.

Anyway, of 14 cruises, we love Summit the best of the M class, Century of that class and the every wonderful Zenith, soon to be "past class" with Horizon.

If only Celebrity would build a ship between Century and Summit (or at least only Millie size) it would make life so much sweeter.

Just signed up to be on the Summit for two weeks this month, north to Alaska.

I am not crazy about the Constellation -- my least favorite ship. But I am going aboard with an open mind.

So Lois, give me a few weeks, and I will tell all. I promise to make notes, copy down names and warm everybody up.

love

Hi:) Oh my goodness, that would be a hoot if Sudi was on Summit when I go in October! He is really wonderful:D

Joan, thanks so much! I loved Constellation.....so hoping I love Summit too. That is such a big problem for me~I have enjoyed every ship;)

I don't always make the shows on a cruise~there are times I would rather be having drinks with friends in the FAMOUS MARTINI BAR:D

If a lot of the shows are before dinner (I have late seating)I definitely won't be making all of them.

The great thing about cruising.....I can do what I want, when I want!

Hi Lois,

On the Milllennium our group never made it to the shows. If the show was before dinner, than our Martini Hour would be cut short. We were usually the last ones to leave the dining room, and then made our way back to the Martini Bar.

We just never made it to the Celebrity Theatre. Maybe if we had more than 7 nights, we would have managed to see a show. I heard there was some very good entertainment.

I just like to wing it, that's one of the great things about a cruise.icon7.gif

Mari, you got that 100% correct:D

I think the Martini Bar will be our hangout:)

Cat, this is just too funny~life can be that way. I am ending up on this ship before ya'll~who woulda thunk it?;) But you still get to cruise with the most awesome group.

Well, hopefully this cruise will be pretty awesome too!

You will love the Summit. Be sure to look at the thread about favorites on the Summit. Are you on the October 23 sailing of the Summit from LA to Ft. Lauderdale? We have a busy thread at the roll call going and we'd love for you to join us!

We're sailing on the Summit in July. It will be our first cruise. Where can I find the thread to which you are referring ?

Hi Lois,

About half the shows were at 7 and half around 10:30, I think. We had such a great group onboard this time that we never made it to one show. It was the Martini Bar around 8:00, dinner until 11:00 (last table out of the dining room everynight), then to the casino to contribute to the casino workers' pension fund. BTW, the Van Gogh Flirtini is pictured in the photo I put on this thread. I believe it is in the foreground, red or pink in color, made with Van Gogh Vodka and some kind of red stuff ( I know a great descriptive remark). I think you will enjoy it. The Le French Martini is also quite good.

If a lot of the shows are before dinner (I have late seating)I definitely won't be making all of them.

Hi Lois,

The "Van Gogh Flirtini"

Von Gogh Raspberry Vodka, Cointreau, Rose's cranberry and pineapple juice, topped with sparkling wine.

Sounds like trouble to me...

We have to have one for Anne Maria.

What fun!

Mari, in reality, at least in Mercury's Martini Bar, the put the sparkling wine in the glass first, shook up the martini part and then poured it into the glass. It was delicious.

Lois, the French and Century Martinis use to be my favorites and then I found the Watermelon, but I think the Van Gogh Flirtini beats them all!!!!

Hi Cruisebud,

Does this sound like the" Martini Delight" - Van Gogh Pineapple Vodka, Apple Pucker Schnapps. Cointreau, pineapple juice, garnish slice of pear?

I have the Martini Bar Menu in front of me. Is it too early for me to have one?icon10.gif

Hi Bill,

Just have the Martini Bar Menu, it lists all 35 of the martinis served and the ingredients. No measurrements. I'll just have to figure it out by trial and error.

35? This is going to be tough, but fun...icon10.gif

Hi Lois,:)

I was on Summit this past February for the 10 night Southern Caribbean cruise. This was our second time on Summit, and she's one of my most favorite ships. The service was perfect, and we made a new friend in the Martini Bar. :D His name is Gem from Istanbul Turkey. He recommended an Alize Gold Martini when I told him I wanted to try something different, and it became my "usual" for the rest of the cruise. Gem was so proud of himself for making me so happy, that I nicknamed this martini the "gem martini". I too have the Martini Bar menu, and it lists the ingredients as Alize Gold Passion, Van Gogh Pineapple Vodka, Pucker Schnapps, and a dash of cranberry juice. YUM!!!

Also, please be on the lookout for Wyan from Bali in the main dining room. He was the most outstanding assistant waiter I have ever had in 23 cruises, and hopefully by now has moved up to waiter. What a charmer.

I know you'll have a wonderful cruise: great ship, good weather, and one happy cruiser. Sounds to me like a winning recipe for a great time!

Hi Sea:)

I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you:)

Now, that is a pretty easy name to remember.....GEM~just relate it to some nice jewels:D And Turkey makes some really nice gold these days!

I am hoping for the possibilty of Sudi being on the ship in October. I know there will be plenty of folks going before me so maybe I will know from them.

I better calm down as I still have 5 months to wait.......
