white hot party

The White Hot Party is a fun signature dance party. Usually it's held outside. Yes the music is loud but there is usually folks there of all ages. The first one we attended, we were alerted to wear white by a relative. The last cruise I noticed it was on our cruise docs. Forget the White Hot T-Shirt purchase unless you like Novelty Ts. Just bring or whatever you have white....Have fun :)

Thank you for the replies. We are going on the Star. I am hoping the White Hot Party is for all ages as I am looking for things we can all do together and my sons are 15, 21 and 23. Does any one know if my 15 year old can sit in the pub or the paino bar if he is with us? Obviously he would not be drinking but that way we could all enjoy thepaino player or the other entertainment. Any info or suggestions from past Star cruisers would be great.

When we sailed Star a few years ago, our 15 year old niece went everywhere with us, wasn't ever an issue. Last year on Sun at the WHP, the teenagers were there until a certain time when they were told they had to go to the teen "bar". Since we didn't have a teen with us, I didn't pay any attention to the dailies, but I seem to remember thinking at the time that there must've been a curfew or something?

There will be some things that the 15 year old won't be able to do anything listed in the Freestyle Daily will have 18+ designation. The only public space on the ship will be the casino where they won't be allowed to go.

Here are some videos of the WHP on different ships. Think white attire, angel wings on the ship's dancers and cruise director, glow-in-the-dark stuff, blinky drink glasses etc. Fun!

On the Pearl in May there were lots of teens at the White Hot Party. I know for some cruises they have an adults-only part that is much later, but you should feel perfectly comfortable bringing all three sons.

I am glad that I read this. I usually don't pack a lot of white clothes. Especially because my 1 year old nephew will be with us. No telling what I would be wearing on my clothes. But I will pack something white in case I want to check it out.

You don't HAVE to wear white - they will not turn you away. People make a really big deal about this, but it's just a white-themed party on NCL ships. Attend if you feel like it, but don't feel like you're required to wear white!

We are looking forward to the WHP on our next cruise, had fun on our last trip, but this time our kids will be with us. Does anyone know if they have some sort of "mini" WHP for younger kids earlier in the night? I seem to recall hearing something about this, but not sure. I know my DD8 would love this! :). Thanks!

It all depends on the Cruise Director and what s/he has planned.

True you don't have to wear white, but doing so contributes to the atmoshere, and the white attire really 'pops' under the glow of the ultra-violet 'black' lighting.....:)

Both times I was on the Gem there was a separate family white hot party.

When I was on the Jewel, there was also a family Nick dance party on deck (on a different night), everyone was having a great time when we passed by. You might want to look if the Gem has on also.

Thanks for the info. I think I will at least pack a white blouse "in case" :D

I have also told others in my group. None of us have sailed NCL before, so we have been trying to get an idea of what we need

On every NCL sailing we have been on since the inception of the WHP, there is always a "Family Friendly" event where anyone can attend. It usually occurs around 9:30 to 10 p.m. depending upon the itinerary. The adult WHP begins later, after the FF party has ended, and is for those 18+.

While on Norwegian Dawn 2011 we attended the white hot party. Had three boys with us . 11yr 12 yrs and 17 yrs. we got there on the earlyside. It was held in the Spinnaker lounge. There was some sort of game show going on in that room before party. We had great seats enjoyed the game show and then the white party started. The music was going , the kids were dancing and having a great time. Then a security person came toward me and said that we had to leave. This was one of the only parties that under 18 was not allowed. We did not put up any fuss. We left and just found other things to do. We found out that this party had a"R". rating............. In my view.......... Too much liquor and nightclub atmosphere for the kids. If you want to go to a club, this is the event of week to go see.

I went to Michael's and bought myself a white feather boa. It was great. Wore white jeans and tee.

My mom was dancing with all the young crew. She was 75 and had a blast. Later on the last night we noticed she made the video at the WHP shaking it!!!
