I read the first two pages of this thread before I realized it was an old one but the desserts have changed recently so my favorite now is the mango cheesecake. I ordered it in the MDR at lunch because I wanted dessert but nothing really sounded good...but it was sooo good!

First I'm hearing of this Oreo Cheesecake. And I just saw pictures of it on the Food Porn thread. Can anyone confirm that this is still being served recently?

No Oreo cheesecake in the dining room at least last week on the Epic.

I read the menu thoroughly each day of my 7 day cruise and never saw it. I would remember that!

I enjoyed the chocolate volcano and the yummy choc chip ice cream with it. The hazelnut chocolate bar dessert was good as well. Most others ones weren't worth the calories. Oh the kids' cookies were good to.

No memorable desserts in the MDRs.

Made to order crêpes in the buffet are good and unique. I like the combo of lemon/blueberry.

If you are lucky enough to be in a suite and eat lunch in the suite only restaurant (varies by ship), the carrot cake is really good and unique as well - it has orange marmalade on it. I would never have thought of that, but it's good and really adds something different.

And while I love crème Brule, anyone and everyone (and every cruise line) does it, so it's not unique to Norwegian. Even I do crème Brule at home.

It's not served in the MDR it's served in Cagney's only. Had it in November on Getaway.

Another vote for the Mango Cheesecake. This is the only reason why I have lunch at the MDR.

For me, it is the best dessert during lunch! Soooo yummmy! :D

Getaway Yummies... Although not technically a desert. IMO the waffles with whipped cream and banana sauce on the breakfast buffet is to die for. A close second for me... A toss up between the Three Milk Cake at the Flamingo or the Brownie Cheesecake at O’Sheehans. Try em all... Your on vacation!

Yes, I remember when they had a souffle every night, now they have just one and it is awesome, think key lime with mango sauce. I was sad when they got rid of them and the cold fruit soups!!

janymac:p

It hasn't been offered on the last few cruises with NCL that I've sailed but I had a strawberry souffle that was fantastic on my first cruise with them!

MMMM!!!!!

We really missed the chocolate brownie sundae at the Blue Lagoon on the Dawn. Is it gone from all the Blue Lagoons?

Does anyone else find themselves wishing for a plain dessert like a slice of cherry pie or a piece of plain chocolate cake. We get tired of the frou-frou stuff after a while.

  • 3 months later...

Another vote for the hazelnut milk chocolate bar. So yummy, I had 2 :D It was served in the MDRs on chocoholic night.

We never saw a creme brulee on the Sun, though we diligently looked for it. All of the cookies were the crunchy kind; none of the soft chewy ones :(
