Can't understand why the original article might have left off that info...

That one time "special" dividend just gave me an extra $50 - since I only hold enough CCL to get the OBC. Hey, looks like I might go out to dinner tonight! :D

Not quite in the realm of "Looks like I won't be going to work EVER!!" ;)

Tom

I expect that the majority of CCL stockholders only hold 100 shares Since that is all that's needed to get the OBC.

Actually The Board of Directors declared the Special Dividend of $.50 per share for all shareholders. Lots of companies are declaring these types of dividends as tax rates are going up next year. So, lots of tax savings to be had if the dividends are paid in 2012.:)

Mikey just happens to own 180 million or so shares!

CCL has 777 million shares outstanding ....so shareholders including Mickey are getting paid $388 million. Oracle's Larry Ellison will get $200 million.

"....100 companies nationwide that are paying dividends in advance this year so their investors won't get taxed more heavily for the money next year. And experts believe the number of firms jumping on the early dividend bandwagon is bound to increase."

The rich get richer.

(same old, same old)

Tom

There's plenty of people out there who think that people who go on multiple cruises are rich. I've even been asked how can we afford to go on cruises or take the vacations that we do. Our answers are usually simple, "we don't buy crap that we don't need."

Very true.. "rich" is relative - as are many labels we apply!!

If you look at history, there has always been a "class system," in the world. Upper class and lower class, and some in the middle. The truth is right up to the present, it still exists and no one will ever change it. People have been trying to even this out for the entire history of man, it isn't going to happen. (think communism)

They sad thing is that nothing has changed except instead of condemning the "lower class," we go until the guise of "everyone is equal." It is a nice concept, and a good one, but sadly, this is a perfect example of how the class system of the past still exists, and changing has never succeeded.

The monopolies of the past, are just hidden now, they are not gone.

Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, Astors are still with us - they just have different names now.

I just had to laugh at this. 'Does not' or 'doesn't' would be a better fit since "He do not even talk good English" is not really 'good English'.

I guess you missed it.

I'll help you with "speak", as well as "well".
