Good Morning from the beautiful Adventure of the Seas, LIVE in St. Thomas!!!!

My apologies for not checking in here last night.....after 3 nights of limited sleep, I was exhausted - however I did make it to the Welcome aboard show :D

To Shar27 - thanks for updating on my behalf, and yes, they they did make it onboard with only 35 minutes to spare!!! We saw them coming up the gangway while we were at dinner (family friends flying on a delayed flight from Toronto for those wondering!)

My ship looks GREAT!!! The crew are so happy and I feel at home once again. We are in love with our OS :) Slept like a baby last night.

Dinner in the MDR was very very good. I am so pleased to see the new menus and have new choices. Last night I had the horseradish crusted salmon and it was delish.

Today we plan to wander into Charlotte Amalie for some shopping  DH tried to hide the credit cards......LOL After shopping we plan to return to the ship for a few hours by the pool. I am going to find a free wifi spot, enjoy a Caribe beer and update you on more details.

Oh, we had our informal meet and greet for our roll call by the pool yesterday at 4pm and it was lovely to put faces to names - a great group of CC members!!!

Have a great day!!! I will update again soon. Thanks for your patience!!

Thanks for the report! Hope you have a great day in St. Thomas.

Last time we were there we found an Asian restaurant with very reasonable WiFi about a block our two outside of Havensight on the right side of the street into town. Lots of crew there.

Yay!!! I'm so thrilled for them!

Have a great day in St. Thomas! Ask the crew where the best place to go for free wifi. I'm sure they will know.

Say hi to DeDe for me.

Enjoy St Thomas!! It is one of my favorite places! Boy, do I miss it, we were there last month. Go to Gucci in Yacht Haven Grande :-)

Havensight Cafe, a block from the ship has WiFi. Someone on our cruise last month used it & said it cost $3.00 half hour, but she was still connected when she got back to the ship on the pool deck well after her time was up. Im told that Senor Frogs has Free Wifi.

Enjoy!!

Hi Robyn .....Lucky you being on AOS in the sunshine!!

I'm on countdown to boarding in Southampton in May and was wondering whether you could tell me if there is anywhere on board that sells chocolate.!!! Maybe one of the shops on the Parade? I couldn't find anywhere on IOS last October but must admit ...I didn't look very hard.

I'll look forward to your sunshine blog!!

We had a great day on St.Thomas - lots of sun and shopping :) There was NO wifi at Senor Frogs :(

Tonight was the first formal night dinner - I have to say the food so far has been VERY good. I am definitely enjoying the new menus. Our waiter advised us tonight that there has been no escargot available on the ship for the last 3 weeks  I don't eat it, but our tablemates are not very happy!!!

The Concierge is Sylvia and she is lovely - I visited the CL before dinner and had the opportunity to meet her. The bar servers are also very friendly.

Just a note - it seems that requests for C&A gifts ie: Diamond Plus amenities listed on your preferences are not accurately being sent to the ship? I requested a beach towel and got a bottle of Pinot Grigio! The wine was my old choice - I had made the change online.....but the info was not sent to the ship? Double check your preferences.

The ship is rolling a bit tonight - last night was calm as can be.....

I am headed to the Casino shortly - it is non smoking tonight :D

Tomorrow we are in St. Kitts....we are going on the RCI beach extravaganza excursion - looking forward to it as we have never been to this island.

More tomorrow......

Sounds like a great day .... are there any other kind in the Caribbean?

We toured last year & had time at the Shipwreck Beach Bar ... nice beach, good lunch food prepared to order .... able to see the green monkeys & mongoose across the parking lot in the treed area.

Enjoy St Kitts!

Hi Robyn

Hope you win big in the Casino! Can you tell me what the table limits are on the Craps table? Hoping it's low ;)

Bummer about the escargot :( It's one of my favorites. I guess it will make it easier to try something else on the menu.

I'm following along with your posts. I'll be making my first trip on AOS in just over 3 weeks.

Have a wonderful time!

......

We were told while on Explorer a couple weeks ago that a recent storm damaged the escargot farms/fields (wherever they raise them) which is why there is a shortage.

We had Wifi at Senor Frogs in St. Thomas-could have been down at the moment or something.

No slimy icky things on Enchantment either. Someone at our table asked and the waiter said none were available.

Glad to see you had WiFi at Senor Frogs...eek, you're right, there could have been an issue...You were on Enchantment after we were, we also didnt have Escargot....actually, if anyone does a google search about escargot, there is a lot of info about it in general.

$5 min bet (Pass / Don't Pass / Place Bets / Field)

$1 min (Hard-ways / 2,3,11,12)

I am not sure if you can place a $1 "HORN" bet. I would think they would want $4 to spread a $1 each on the 4 numbers).

Single Odds (yuck)

Hope that helps

We had a super fun day in St. Kitts! The beach excursion through RCI was great, our bus driver was an amazing tour guide and we really felt as if we saw a lot of the island. Okay, why did nobody tell me that there are over 100,000 monkeys on St. Kitts???? They are so adorable and can be found in most of the trees, and on the arms of locals who exploit them for pictures/money :(. I wonder if anyone has tried to sneak one onboard????

I visited the casino last night and it was indeed non-smoking - I tried my luck at the Life of Luxury slots....but to no avail. As Radio would say, the casino was not ckrobyn friendly.

The Duck and Dog pub does allow smoking - you can smell it on the Promenade.....I think they started allowing it in Europe and just carried on??

I have to say it again - the food on this cruise is incredible!!!! Not just the new menus, but the taste and temperature too. We have eaten in the MDR each evening and are really enjoying it.

The entertainment so far has been good. I think someone was asking about Beatlemania? They are not on this week anyways, not sure about next week? Tonight is the 70's dance party followed by The Quest - I will be going to both! Tomorrow is our M&M at 11:00AM. I did not attend the C&A welcome back event tonight - but I may attend the Diamond Plus event later in the week.

Tonight the ship is rocking.....the compass for tomorrow says moderate to rough seas  As long as the sun is shining......!

That's all for now. I will check in again tomorrow. Thanks for following along!!

Hello Ckrobin, hope you continue to enjoy yourself.

Question: are they still excepting the booklets or has it been automated?

Thanks in Advance:confused::)

Rick

We still have paper coupon booklets for this cruise. I will try and find out when they are moving to having them loaded on the sea pass.

The General Store on the Promenade sells chocolate bars. Not a huge selection, but chocolate nonetheless
