Enjoying the pics and review. Congrats on the wedding and getting to Platinum! We hit Platinum in December and can't wait! We sailed the Victory when it was in Puerto Rico and what I remember most about the ship is a lot of green and those damn seahorses at the ends of the stairs. lol Luckily I was warned about them from reading other's reviews and made sure to look out for them when using the stairs.

Awesome review so far!!! Can't wait to hear what you guys have to say about HMC...I was on the ecstasy on the 13th out of Port Canaveral. I absolutely loved HMC, was the nicest beach i've ever been on.

I'm looking at sailing on the liberty next year, have it narrowed down to that ship, the victory or the conquest.

Hope your hand is ok!!

Congrats on the wedding! What a beautiful bride and the groom wasn't to shabby!

Great review so far as usual and sorry about the thumb. I hope it is healing well.

Can't wait to read more....

Congratulations to the both of you! I read your Breeze review and loved it. Real excited to read your review of the Liberty - would love to sail her some day.

I hope your hand is ok Cassandra. What a bummer :( It looks fractured or maybe worse....

Can't wait for the rest of your report. Thanks for sharing!

I see that you are going on the Sunshine next year. DH and I will be on her as well in March. I was wondering if you are staying in New Orleans before and after your cruise. I found a hotel for the night we get into New Orleans, but having problems with the one night after our cruise. Have a wonderful time and looking forward to your review once you get back!

We are staying a couple nights in NO before the cruise but I honestly don't know where as we're going to be sharing with a friend who's on the cruise with us and she's taking care of booking the room.

did you have any trouble asking for a more private table for two? haha, we learned on our last trip about those smushed together tables for 2. ;)

Ouch! Is your hand ok now?? Also..just wondered, were you able to request the table for two each night or was it just the luck of the draw that you ended up in the same place??

Before I hit HMC I thought I'd answer these. We NEVER had a wait for a table for 2 this cruise. I was pleased and surprised as ATD has been getting more and more popular lately. We just asked the Hostess the first night and luckily had the same table every night we dined in the MDR (a first for us).

Monday - Half Moon Cay - since we needed to be down at medical at 8 and then the Victoria lounge at 8:30, we had to get up at 7 to get ready and eat. Didn’t sleep bad but only got about 5 hours of sleep. Dr checked out Cass and gave her some anti-inflammatory cream but told her it wasn't anything to worry about so that put both our minds to rest. Headed to first tender at 8:45 (met in the Victoria Lounge, aft) and arrived on half moon cay at 9:15.

I absolutely hate what they've done to this island. The new big uglies are just an eyesore, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

As we got off the tender I snapped a few pictures of the port shop area.

Off to the left is the 'Excursion Desk' where you need to check in before heading to the cabana (or I imagine any other excursion you may have planned on the island).

Congratulations to both of you on the wedding! Thanks for posting this great review along with your photos. My first cruise was on the Liberty and I always like seeing reviews about her. I hope the hand is feeling better now. I slammed my hand in a chair like that a few years ago, so I know the feeling.

Since we had cabana #14 (we reserved with Carnival way in advance but they've apparently stopped doing this) they told us to take the bus down to the cabana. We politely declined as this is one of our favorite beaches and had no problem walking the 1/4 mile or so to our cabana.

We cut in before the cabanas to walk on the beach since it was nice and there was no one out there yet. How can you not love this place....

....oh yeah, this is how

Now they had the Pirate Ship bar the last time we were here and all of the speakers were inside the bar (none pointing out to the water). You could barely hear the music right outside at Cabana #5. This time, they huge speakers blaring music outside and I could barely hear myself think at Cabana #5. If I had gotten stuck with that cabana, I would have demanded my money back.

Here are some photos to give perspective of how these monstrosities dwarf the neighboring cabanas.

I saw both demographics using these condos or whatever the hell Carnival is calling them that I expected. The closest one to us was thankfully the large family that had both kids and Grand Parents. A little further down however was the daily frat house.

We made it to our home for the day but noticed that the staff had not been around to distribute towels, drinks, food, yet. It wasn't a big deal as they showed up about 20 minutes later.

Our view :D (if you notice the little bird, he made frequent stops to see if we had food)

Fortunately with the angle of the speakers, we could not hear the music from the Pirate Bar while in the cabana. Unfortunately, it was LOUD and clear from anywhere in the water.

Like I said, staff came around at 9:45 to deliver goodies

The weather was beautiful this day but the water was still quite cool. We spent a lot of time on our floatie mats but with the music from the Pirate Bar, this is no longer our 'happy place'. Around noon we headed up to the lunch pavilion to grab some food. It was good but nothing spectacular. Someone was quite pleased though..I told him to try the jerked chicken

First off, thank you so much for all the congrats and well wishes! Nothing is better than getting to marry your best friend, and I know we'll have many happy years together :)

Also, thank you for all the words of empathy, the hand is much better - I kept it iced at night, and the booze helped during the evenings LOL. All kidding aside, Chris took great care of me (I sure put him to that "in sickness and in health" part right away!) And it's almost healed up now, just a little sore when I forget and do something like put in a ponytail.

Great start!!

Did you guys smuggle, order Bon Voyage, or do Cheers program?

Thanks! We admittedly do a bit of smuggling, but no Bon Voyage on this trip. We honestly don't drink enough to cover the cost of the Cheers programs - we tend to not start drinks till late afternoon or early evening, and then it's only 4 or 5 each... I know Cheers works out well for a lot of people, but for us it's just not cost effective.

Well it is about time Chris and Cass! Wow Cass...your thumb looks awful! Hope everything was okay! Guess we will find what the doctor says tomorrow (Is this your version of a cliffhanger LOL)!

Glad to see the band by the casino, always loved listening to the live band there. Been on the Liberty twice and we are looking at the Liberty for Dec. but was going to go with Princess if no live bands. Have not made the final decision yet though.

Thanks for the review...can't wait for more!

Hey Ready!! Yeah I forget what that band's name was - it should be listed in the Fun Times I posted for the first day. They were a cover band, but really good. The guitarists on board were good too.

Love, love, love your review!

So sorry about your thumb Cass! On the Breeze it was your ankle. Chris will have to wrap you up in cotton swab! :-)

Glad that its Ok.

Joanne

Hey Joanne!! Yeah I'm a freaking walking calamity... almost fell down the stairs at my doctor's office today too but thankfully caught myself! Yikes! I think Chris suggested a body-bubble LOL...

Congratulations Chris & Cass from both Cindy & I. Looks like another great cruise and I'm sure this one was definitely extra special. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to do another great review.

Steve

Hey Steve! Thank you!! Hope you and Cindy are doing well - say hi to her for us!

Last cruise we had the aft wrap next to your room (on the Glory), and my husband slammed the balcony door on his finger - looked pretty similar to your hand!

Thank you for including the fun times in your review - the Liberty Eastern is our next cruise.

Congratulations on your wedding!

Those balcony doors can be dangerous sometimes! OW! I'm sure you'll have a blast on your cruise! We loved these stops!

We were actually in the Golden Dining Room and we had Early Seating. We were on the top level. I didn't really like our table. It was a table for four, which was nice, but it was next to a window with a curtain over it (that never opened) and we were kinda squished between other tables and a server station.

Sorry about your thumb! Man, that looks painful!

BTW, I said hi to you and Chris in Half Moon. We were both at the buffet lunch at the same time.

Yeah! I remember that now... it's so hard to put faces to names on here.. sometimes people will come up and say hi because they recognize us from here and I feel so bad because I think, oh no! Do I know them? I apologize if I didn't say hi to anyone!

Having see the "trailers" on social media, so nice to see the full feature:) That aftcabin is certainly the spot on the Liberty. Those cocktails in MB are the ones to have when you're only have less than one.:D So will now subscribe. And as Erm and Deb say, Keep calm and Rum On!

Crew

Hey Crew! Yep RUM ON is right! Yeah that balcony was the best!

We are flying into NO I think 2 days before to be able to spend a full day there before cruising, but we'll be hopping a flight home the day the ship gets back... I actually can't remember the name of the hotel because someone else in our group booked it for us, but I think it's close to the French Quarter area.

did you have any trouble asking for a more private table for two? haha, we learned on our last trip about those smushed together tables for 2. ;)

Nope, absolutely no trouble at all - We asked for it the first night, and then they knew for the rest of the nights. We were prepared to wait for them, because we knew that's what we wanted, but there wasn't any wait once we actually got up to the check in station. The tables are 227 and 224 - and there are a few others around the middle staircase as well.

To Chris & Cassandra:

Congratulations on our wedding and wishing you both many year of health, happiness and cruising together! :D:D

Hey Froufie! Thank you! I must say, your Eastern Liberty review inspired us for St. Thomas, I'm sure you'll see a familiar face when we get to that day!

We took a nap in our comfy loungers (damn I really need to get a pair of these for our deck) but had to put in ear buds to drown out the music. I swear they're trying to turn HMC into South Beach .

Spent a little more time in the water and then started packing up around 2:30. Snapped a couple pictures on our way back. I really wish I'd gotten a close up of the speakers they had blaring music at the Pirate Bar.

One of the worst parts of the day was standing in line for about a half hour for a tender. This is the only time we got more sun than we wanted (and I apologize to the 2 ladies who were standing in front of me, I was just getting close to stand in your shade :o)

That is very disappointing about Half Moon. Those condo things were not there in July. Where did they come from and what exactly are they? Also disappointed to hear About the music. You are right, when we had cabana 5 I did not hear music, at least not that I remember so it could not have been that bad. Such a peaceful island, what a shame.
