That's great! Love Thomas. He was Activity Director on navigator last year. One of the few times in my life I wrote to corporate and wrote on my survey that he should be a CD.

I just want to share a story that I strongly relates to this thread. I assume Dan Whitney (currently on Grandeur) normally works as a regular fill in. At our meet and mingle he related that one time he found out where his next contract would be on Cruise Critic before he got the word from Miami. A big group of cruisers with a dedicated individual organizing their input is a powerful force.

Just got off of the Allure. Jerome was the best Cruise director that I have ever seen. Does anyone know how long he will be on this ship. He said he was going to Europe for dry dock and European tour. Just wondering if he will be back next year.

He is the newly appointed regular CD on Allure until further notice. That generally means 4 months on the ship followed by a 2 month break. However, things can change at any moment, and it's a bit too soon to predict for next summer.

We chatted briefly with him in the Royal Prominade tonight and he is a personal-able guy, which is great considering his position.;) It came out in discussion that he is on Allure for four more weeks and then will go home. He will rejoin the ship halfway through drydock for the European sailings. I wasn't thinking quick as I would have asked who is replacing him, but that will come out in the wash.

Thanks Andrew! I always appreciate when people report directly from the ship!

 

It's kind of weird that he would leave the ship for just one sailing and the TA, but I suppose he needs to take a substantial enough break because the European season is longer than the typical 4 month contract.
