UPDATED List of Current Cruise Directors (CD)

Recommended Posts

Seeing the name of ex-CD Tom Canosa, a couple of years ago he was entertainments director at a hotel we go to on Isle of Wight in UK. Knew he left to teach but didn't know he had gone back to U.S. Funniest thing I ever saw was Tom trying to take part in British traditional pantomime!!! Hilarious.

Is it normal for cruise directors to switch mid cruise? We are on Freedom June 1-8 and your list shows Rich starting on the 6th. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

No, I must have gotten the date wrong.

Edited to add: The info I received said that Rich was leaving Liberty on June 6 and heading straight over to Freedom. I should have checked the calendar and Freedom's schedule before assuming that this would all occur on the same date. He'll need 2 days travel time to get to Port Canaveral by the 8th.

I'll fix the list.

I will be sailing on Freedom a week from Sunday and from the look of it, it looks likes Casey Pelter will be our Cruise Director. What can you all tell me about him? Is he funny? Good? Thanks

Sharon:D

We think he's both funny and good!

Wonder if FR's just announce Jan. 2015 drydock will change any CD assignments -- the drydock is for the whole month.

They will probably just schedule Rich's break for during the drydock. So, the 4 month on, two month off pattern will be changed up a bit.

I agree! Maybe they should consider letting him do the organizing and let another face do the public appearances. :)

We sail on Allure in 3 weeks. Reading this about the CD (Ken Rush) is disappointing. A CD can add so much more fun to any cruise.

There are just as many people who like Ken as those who dislike him, so don't be disappointed beforehand. Go into it expecting to be one who likes him, and then form your own opinion.

And, consider that Allure and Oasis are so chock full of a variety of entertainment each night that the CD sort of becomes less visible. You might just naturally have more interaction with the activities manager and staff simply because you are attending the particular show that they are hosting that evening and not the one that the CD is hosting. (At least that's how it was for us on Allure. Allan was the CD and he was great, but he couldn't possibly be at all the shows and activities every night because there were too many of them with too much overlap)

Agreed. The only time I see the CD on the Oasis or Allure is at the Quest or Love and Marriage game show.

We just had Amy Fickert on our Radiance Hawaiian cruise and thought she was wonderful. She was caring, witty, funny, a little naughty, and she looked great in her Policewomans outfit at '&0s night.

Great to hear that. It sounds like she will be on for about a week or 2 after my cruise.

Does anyone have any experience of Clo O'Connor? We are booked on our honeymoon on Brilliance from July 1st, and haven't a clue what to expect!

I have no personal experience with Clo, but she only gets positive and glowing reviews here, and she is often named as a favorite CD and one of RCI's best. I can't recall ever reading or hearing one negative comment against Clo.
