Yes, the Port Canaveral Port Authority is moving with plans to build another terminal to the east of Grills Restaurant. The terminal will be big enough to handle up to 6,000 passengers per sailing. The only ships that hold that many passengers are the Oasis Class ships.

If they renovate cape liberty and push the ship back further, will they still have harborview park Bayonne with the Teardrop?

Never actually knew it was called that. I always referred to it as Cape Liberty Park or the Tear Drop Park. I don't think any of these plans will effect that. I think when the monument was installed it permanently locked that location in for that purpose. The ship will likely no longer be docked along side it, but back down the channel farther. It will still be an incredible place to watch the ships leave from though and I'm sure Royal Caribbean will hold some kind of big event there when Quantum arrives.

Have a dumb question. On the ship builder's website, it's listed as "Webcam". Now wouldn't one think that it's actually coverage of the ship or am I doing something wrong?

No, they don't use the term correctly. A webcam is supposed to be a video/picture connected to a camera that automatically streams to the web. They can update at various intervals from live to every minute. All they have is a picture that someone will go out and take a new one to replace occasionally. I honestly would be surprised if there was some kind of dedicated webcam there as it seems more likely that someone just goes out with a camera or they grab a screenshot from the facilities security system.

I think we all would prefer it if the guys over at http://www.ptztv.com/ would just setup another one of their great websites and give us a real webcam.

I love that website!!! I found it a few years back and I'm always checking it out to see what ships are where, etc. Call me a stalker but I was tracking when my son when on his cruise and the ports that he was at too. :D Here is another good site too for webcams on the cruise ships.

RIPCORD by iFLY

Q: Tell me more about the iFLY experience?

A: We are very excited about RipCord by iFLY. It’s another “first at sea” for the Royal Caribbean brand, just like when we introduced the Rock Climbing Wall on Voyager of the Seas, the FlowRider on Freedom of the Seas and the zip line on Oasis of the Seas. RipCord is the first skydiving experience at sea and it allows everyone from first-time flyers to seasoned skydivers to enjoy the thrill and exhilaration of skydiving in a safe, controlled and simulated environment. The sensation of flying takes place inside a 23-foot tall glass flight chamber so guests will have stunning ocean views as well. It is surrounded by a viewing platform for friends, family and other spectators. It’s located on the Sports Court at the aft of the ship, will overlook the FlowRider surf simulator and is situated adjacent to the Rock Climbing Wall.

Q: Are there weight/height/age restrictions? Is RipCord by iFLY complimentary?

A: RipCord by iFLY will be complimentary for guests and likely mirror land-based guidelines: Flyers may be as young as three years of age. There is no upper age limit. All flyers must be in good health and physical condition. Those less than 6 feet tall must weigh less than 230 lbs, and those over 6 feet must weigh less than 250 lbs. Children under 18 years of age need to have a parent or guardian to sign their waiver. If you have a prior shoulder dislocation or back or neck problems you should not fly.”

Q: Will guests have to attend the training sessions every time they want to experience RipCord?

A: Training session mandates are not fully defined at this time.

Q: Is RipCord accessible?

A: Yes

A: Bumper car rides will last approximately 3 – 5 minutes and there will be up to 30 cars to choose from.

Q: Is Circus School a free offering?

A: At this time, it is still not determined whether the Circus School will be complimentary or not.

Q: What will be in the SeaPods in SeaPlex?

A: The SeaPods will have custom themes and features such as table tennis, foosball, air hockey and other interactive games. We’re also very excited about these beautiful spaces, which have very large windows, extend over the side of the ship, and offer expansive breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding destinations when near ports.

Does this mean these cabins have no tv viewing? I ask because I booked one solo right now and thought I would prefer one to having a solo inside, but I do like to check on world news during my cruise. Im a news junkie and would feel cut off if you dont also get tv.

In addition to the virtual balcony, there will be a real TV just like all of the other rooms that you will be able to watch the news on.

I'm not completely clear on which categories you are talking about so I'll break a few down for you:

  • Balcony: Features a real balcony and a traditional TV
  • Solo Balcony: Features a real balcony and a traditional TV
  • Ocean View: Features a real window and a traditional TV
  • Inside: Features a virtual balcony (TV screen that fills the wall) and a traditional TV
  • Solo Inside: Features a virtual window (A traditional TV with all the usual functionalities and a channel that has the view of a virtual window)

Oh good. I think I would have had to change my cabin if you told me no tv all week.

thanks for relieving me of that worry.

the only category I know of with a virtual balcony are the regular insides. Since I asked about the virual balconys, I thought only regular insides had them so there were no other categories I might be asking about.

thanks for the breakdown .. but I actually read on another thread here that the solo insides do not have the virtual balcony. Now you have me confused again lol.

If the solo insides do not have a virtual balcony like the regular insides what is a VIEW of a virtual window mean?

The other post says solo insides no virtual balcony, just tvs, and you say a VIEW of a virtual window?? so is this something different, like a view of the ship?

Based on other things I had read in this section I want a regular inside (which is what I have booked) not a solo inside.. now what you wrote makes it sound like no difference, or maybe its the size of the tv? The regular inside has a 72 inch virtual balcony tv mounted on the wall and the solo inside does not. So its smaller tv, but much the same you write?
