On Carnival's website, I saw a GUARANTEE Balcony for $790. Still... not bad st all. Then when I checked airfare, it was $650... not the best.

I'm still going to dig further for airfare options.

I would still like to hear if you can help me get the deal you have. I am from Toronto area, fyi.

I just went on Carnival.com to book it. I booked under the Premier Casino deal but it's there for $750 taxes included with free upgrades to basically any deck under the New Year's Sale. There's still plenty of lido balconies available!

I saw it ...today. Now I've got to check into airfares. Maybe I'll be there!

I wonder if the ship isnt filled because its not a prime school spring break/holiday week.

I really need to look into a solo cruise...

Go for it! I just returned from my first cruise where i met several other solo cruisers and had an awesome time. A few of us have now booked together for another one this fall. Definitely addicted. :D

I have always cruised with my DD. Now that she is in college, she's not as available to cruise with dear old mom. I'm doing my first solo cruise (with friends) this coming May on the Oasis of the Seas. I thought this would be a good way to get my feet wet per say of solo cruising. After I conquer this, then I plan on cruising more by myself. But DD & I made a promise that we would still vacation together at least once a year. Happy Cruising everyone! If you're on this cruise, stop by our thread. :D

I just booked for Norwegian Breakaway leaving February 23, 2014 - from NYC. There were no Studios available so I had to pay 200% :( Since I don't have a studio does it mean I can't go to one of the solo meetings? I believe they always list them in The living room. Does anyone know?

Hello, my name is Lisa and will be on the Epic in October 2014 out of Barcelona. Love to travel and sometimes you just have to do it alone. If there is anyone out there going on the Epic and is looking for a travel buddy to explore the ports, please let me know.

I booked a solo cabin this week on the Queen of the Mississippi departing October 25, 2014 from New Orleans. The itinerary is New Orleans - Memphis - 8 days. This is my first river cruise. I always wanted to do a cruise on the Mississippi River and I am really looking forward to it! Only around 150 passengers and 12 solo cabins, so it will be quite easy to meet others.

I'm considering Royal Caribbean's "Palm Trees and Pink Sand" cruise on Vision of the Seas, 10 days, roundtrip Ft. Lauderdale, leaving Sept. 1st. Itinerary is Ft. Lauderdale, Charleston, S.C., Kings Wharf, Bermuda (3 nights), Coco Cay, Nassau and Ft. Lauderdale with several sea days. Will probably book this, but timing the booking is everything (and getting a good deal) when traveling solo.

Happy to find this thread and all the solo cruisers!

Second solo! Loved the first, but I really do have to learn to talk to more people!

Have heard so many people with good things to say about this ship, had to book it to see for myself.

Wanted the itinerary with Half Moon Cay, another thing that gets rave reviews. Can't wait!

Hope the other lines follow Carnivals lead and make these solo sales easy to find.

Headed out with a big group for a friends wedding. I think I might be the only solo one of the bunch. This will be my first solo cruise. How are the singles events..meet and greets and such?

Carnival is great for single/solo travelers. They seat us together at dinners. They have a regular meeting place each day for solo travelers. You will have a good time if there are others going to these meetings. I did on a TA last October. Am hoping to do another transatlantic this April ...but on Celebrity.

Celebrity doesnt seem to have the solo rates like Carnival does but I keep checking.

Meet and Greets and great. Did you check out the Roll Call to see who is showing up for it? They last about 1 to 1 1/2 hours in my experience. Free drinks. Hope you have a great time.
