I just looked them up. Thanks for the tip. I then saw them for sale on ebay! Guests are also selling their tervis tumblers, pins, etc. Crazy!

 

they have them in the gift shop I think, and you can buy one on Carnivals website, they retail for 29.99

I just think the gift should be a unisex gift. I think Carnival has done a very good job with that up until the baseball cap; binoculars, coolers, tumblers, picture frames, etc. Carnival has also done a better job lately of changing up the gift more quickly. Remember when it was the picture frame? They gave that one so long that I have a stack of them. I also gave some away just because I had so many.

 

It would be nice if they just let you show your platinum card at the information desk and pick from a couple of different things. Lots of people seem to like the tumbler, and have gone out of their way to swap the cap for the tumbler when given a choice. They could just mark your name off the list once you pick up your gift--like they do when you pick up casino cash in the casino. I hope they will continue to improve the program.

The baseball hat was originally supposed to change at the end of October but now it's supposed to change in mid-November. John Heald had mentioned in his blog it would be changing mid-November. Rumor is that it's changing to a tote bag/duffel bag....something along those lines

 

not going till December so at this rate with all the switching they may still have the caps left LOL. got my tumbler this summer :D

Victory 9/26-30, hat, no swapping to tumbler. I have no one to give it to so just left it in the room when I left. The steward brought it to the room on formal night.

Although it is not for me, it is a nice baseball cap, as caps go.

Have a list you can pick from is asking for more complaints. Instead of a box full of caps you want a showroom? I got the cap last week I will never wear but same with my pin.

 

It's kinda like clothes from grandma at Christmas. It's a gift!!! Give it to someone and move on.

I agree, that it's nice to be recognized...I just don't need anymore hats or trevis...have four hats & 6 trevis. Would like a tote in Nov., but doesn't look like it will be til mid month & we sail the 3rd & 10th! But, I don't need 4 totes!!! LOL I'd rather have a drink;)

I was on the Dream last month. We got the Tervis Tumblers. I'm glad, I really didn't want the had but would have graciously said "thank you".

 

When I was at the purser's desk for another reason, I told them thanks for the tumbler. She said they used to have the hats, but there was "a blog site" that told people they could trade their hats for tumblers. She said they didn't have room for that, so they got rid of the hats and now only had the tumblers.

They give a drink coupon to all repeat cruisers but folks complain non-stop about those as well.

We were on the Magic last month and got hats. I went to Guest Services and asked for tumblers....they had none.

 

But, they had a really nice small backpack, embroidered with Carnival, black. It will come in very handy for shore excursions that don't require a towel!

 

All you can do is to to Guest Services and ask....nicely......if there is an alternative. DH kept the hat and likes it.

 

It was our first Platinum trip so we were thrilled to get anything!

Yep. This is exactly what we did. I took the hats to guest services and they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked to trade them in.

Agreed. I have never used my drink coupon...I am just not ready to face an alcoholic drink at 9-10AM. Showing my age :eek:

 

Actually I go into the dining room close to the end of brunch and ask for my drink to go.

Good idea, I'm just not organized enough on a sea day to head back down to dining room to do that, usually settled in somewhere for the afternoon at that point.

We love our Carnival sling backpacks. Take them hiking a lot as well as on cruises. I like my Tervis tumbler, but we don't need 4 or 6 or 8 of them so the others that we have gotten have been sold on Ebay!

 

 

The black and gray - embroidered - single strap one?? We missed that one - by about a month...and I think it's something we really would have used!

If anyone has one they would mind parting with - I'd be interested. ;)
