Reflections on Reflection?

I've been reading more negative review comments than positive on Reflection. I wonder if anyone here can share some postitives? We've been so excited about our September Mediterranean cruise but are now beginning to get a little concerned.

We just got off the Reflection this past Saturday and thought it was a lovely ship. It was our 8th cruise, so we have come to expect that some meals are better than others and that's basically what we experienced on this cruise. We were not impressed with the MDR food, but found it to be just ok overall.

We had some good entertainment and the ship is beautiful and comfortable. We didn't frequent the bars, so can't really comment on that. Overall, it was a good cruise. As usual, it was tough to walk off the ship!

The handful of negative postings shouldn't dull your expectations on Reflection. It's a beautiful ship. The service is outstanding, and well as the food.

Food is a subjective subject. What one person likes...another one dislikes. We found the MDR food very good. Yes, there were some hit and miss dishes, but over all, everything was very good.

Go on your cruise with an open mind. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Celebrity does a wonderful job of making each and every one of their passengers's experience a wonderful one.

We've been on it once and are going back next month. Love the Reflection! We enjoy all the specialty restaurants.... The Porch was our favorite spot for lunch, but also enjoy Bistro on 5, and the coffee and pastries at Il Bacio, and really like the variety of places to go for dinner. We love the alcoves on the lawn, and the Sunset Bar, and as with other Celebrity ships, we love that the casino is completely smoke-free.

We just got back from our first ever Celebrity cruise, on the Reflection. I only have Royal Caribbean for comparison. I thought the ship was beautiful and elegant. I didn't think the food in the MDR was any better than RCI, but we had wonderful meals and service at the Lawn Club Grill, Q-sine, and Murano. The Porch was my favorite for breakfast with the ocean view and relative quiet as it wasn't very busy. Great breakfast panini and pastries, fresh squeezed oj. The buffet was similar to RCI and had a good selection for breakfast (including waffles, blintz, made to order eggs including poached) and lunch. Loved the martini and molecular bar. The entertainment wasn't as extensive as on some of the big RCI ships, but we weren't expecting it to be. The had a late night comedy show, after the honeymoon show, the after-dinner shows, karaoke, and musicians at different venues throughout the ship, among the entertainment options. One night there was a wine and cheese event on the lawn club with music. We were in a concierge class cabin and didn't experience any escalation of service to differentiate it from any of our previous cruises, so I don't know that I would pay for that cabin category over a balcony stateroom. What really stood out for us was the lovely, interesting people we met who made the cruise so enjoyable for us. I would not hesitate to sail on the Reflection again.

Just got off of the Reflection (January 11 - 18), have been on several cruises; more than 25, Norwegian, Princess, Royal Caribbean, and. Celebrity.......this ship was AWESOME..... Beautiful, Clean, Great Staff...... Stayed in Aqua Class, Blu was awesome, both at Dinner and breakfast. got to Dinner between 6 and 6:15, every evening...no wait....Armondo our waiter was as good as I have ever had. Sugeng our room steward was outstanding. The two production shows were as good as any on ANY cruise I have ever been on. The second one was as good as any Las Vegas show I have ever seen. Escargot very night, yum, yum..... Food was outstanding, ate at Murano, Fantastic......no lines for drinks, even with many people having the drink package, NO smell of smoke, in or around the casino....it was a 10 out of 10 cruise, just go and enjoy,,,,,,,,,AWESOME +

Our 1st cruise was in 1987, and we were on Reflection last Nov and the wifester commented that the Reflection was the best Ship we had ever been on. A to Z, there were a couple of issues, always seems to be on every cruise, but this was a very darn great week! If they had not moved up the return TA this year we were going to book her again for the crossing.

We got off the Reflection on Jan 25 and I'll be posting a full review soon, including a VERY detailed review of Blu and other dining venues. While no cruise is perfect, we had a GREAT time on Reflection and would sail her again anytime, in Aqua class (or any other class).

We are excitedly planning our third Reflection cruise in the Med in June, after two Caribbean cruises. She's a great ship and you'll have a wonderful time.

I will say I was a little worried after reading the reviews/comments just prior to our December 2013 trip that I wasn't sure if we'd keep our June plans. However, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and saw no need to change our future reservation.

We just came off the Reflection on 1/25, our first on Celebrity, and we absolutely loved the ship! What a beautiful ship!! I am working on a review write up but we would not hesitate to sail on her again and have in fact booked the 10 Caribbean cruise on the Equinox for next January! We had done 6 previous cruises, all on Princess, and while we will continue to cruise with Princess, Celebrity is now our new favorite cruise line. Thanks to all of the crew on the Reflection for an amazing cruise vacation and we can't wait for our next Celebrity cruise!

can you tell me if there is an extra charge to use the sauna and steam rooms on this ship? We are sailing Feb 8, 2014 on Celebrity Reflection.

The only steam room is in the Persian Gardens and it is co-ed. Unless you are in Aquaclass, there is a fee to use this. There is a small sauna in each of the men's and women's locker rooms which is free of charge.

Dry sauna free in the changing room, steam room part of the "pay" area called Persian Garden, unless you are in aqua class which includes free use.

I neglected to mention earlier that we had a lovely dinner at the Lawn Club grill restaurant that just happened to be the same evening as the jazz concert on the lawn. It was wonderful and relaxing.

Also, celebrity solstice ships have the best bathrooms! A curved shower door! It makes a huge difference!

Have been on the Equinox and it was great. Then on the Reflection and it was noticable that this is their flagship. Captain, officers and other crew very proud of it and everything just a bit better, especially the shows.

Thanks, All for your perspectives. We LOVE Celebrity and I failed to mention in my original post that this will be our 14th with them. I was beginning to worry that service and food is severely suffering, but it doesn't seem that way. We've sailed other lines as well but are true Celebrity fans. Every cruise certainly has its highlights and memorable moments. More importantly, I've never had a bad cruise and can't imagine it possible. ;) We've been doing AQ ever since Solstice first came out but this time we're not. However we did buy a dining package that includes 5 speciatly restaurants so we'll split our 10 days between MDR and the other restaurants. Hoping we don't miss Blu too much and also hoping for a sea day in the alcoves.

Reflection is mine and DH's favorite ship in the CCI fleet, we are cruising on her in March for the 3rd time.. We did the Caribbean last year also on Reflection and the Med in Late August/Early September. She is a beautiful ship and has some of the best crew members!

Just remember it is all what you make of it.. Sometimes people receive bad service because they aren't very nice to crew members.. We have never been treated badly on any cruise we have been on..

You are going to have a wonderful cruise!! :o

Really, when did RCCL sell her?

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Forums mobile app

The Reflection is in the CCI= Celebrity Cruises International fleet which is owned by RCCL, which has another fleet of ships sailing under that banner.

I read chloe812's post as Carnival Cruise lines with a small "l".

As far as I am aware though, there is no CCI as the Celebrity part of RCCL is plain "Celebrity Cruises" without the International, unlike the RCI brand which does have International.
