I'm speaking of nail services. I don't like getting yelled at as part of the service. I don't enjoy that, and yes, i have complained. Before I get flamed yet again ( not talking about you), the OP brought this up originally.

 

Spa Manager was a tall, i believe, Eastern European woman. She told us the price, I commented that it was a lot higher than last week and her reply was basically "that is the price, we don't force you to pay it" and walked away

Rough the first night and part of second day. After that smoothed out was a beautiful trip! We are in an aft wrap so probably felt it more than most did

I have to also say that HAL's spa programs vary ALOT by ship. Some have been great, others have been a pain to deal with. Seems to be that the Spa company needs to do more training of their staff to have consistantly good service.

Agree. Like you I have gotten a very good massage in the spa and that makes me want to go again. Then I remember the nail techs and I decide I'm not going for that.

This morning NL was back to velvet ropes and no self service- hopefully just until tomorrow.

 

Not a happy group in there this morning after self service yesterday- a lot of people were concerned.

 

Will update if things change either way.

When did you get back on yesterday in Vancouver? Was if full on deep sanitization again? Hope the NL is self serve soon. It was quite a nuisance to pop in for a bite and a coffee. Enjoyed dining with you two. Enjoy Alaska.

We got back on at about noon. Deep cleaning by outside company- smell was pretty strong for a while around the cabins. Fire doors were closed in the cabin hallways and they had gas mask type things on.

 

New passengers came on at about 12:30 and had to wait until 1:30 or 2:00 I believe to go to cabins.

 

Was great meeting and we enjoyed the PG dinners! Hope we cruise together again!

I believe they were outside people. Loren went opened the hallway door to take things back to our cabin and one of the workers told him no one was allowed in the area. He said she had a "Star Wars" mask on :)

 

No one told us at the gangway that we couldn't go back to our cabin yet.

Just curious if there has been a confirmation of what this AGI illness is? I asked the nurse and she said she did not know and she said I had everything that was going around...not a good way to end a cruise for sure. It seems there were many things going around. I was one of the unfortunate to get all the symptoms on the last day before getting off in Victoria, my husband had a few symptoms a week before. I still have fever, cough, headache, cold symptoms (vomiting and diareaha gone):confused:

Is the NL still self serve? I felt so sorry for the PG waiter. He works so hard anyway keeping everything looking nice and restocked, and then to have to serve as well. Often times the concierges would also help serve.

I did peek into the Hydrotherapy pool this morning and still empty as are the hot tubs. Sad- we were really looking forward to using the Hydro pool a lot. Actually, after the attitude we got from the Spa Staff no way we'd give them a penny now. Loren had planned on Mani and massage and has no interest now.

 

We are off to breakfast in PG and in search for the WONDERFUL Blood Mary cart (BTW POA1- always drink mine with Gin- try one some time) :)

Spoke with others at breakfast in PG and they said that they didn't receive the warning/opt out letter in Vancouver.

 

We were handed the letter in San Diego- gave us the option of cancelling or re-booking for a later date due to AGI on board.

 

CD's morning briefing still included AGI information so likely will stay in whatever code we are in.

Thanks. It's on the list. I've heard it called a Red Snapper. There's also a Ruddy Mary (tequila) although I think Bloody Mariachi would have been cooler.

 

Keep using the SBP card. We had some Noro on the Noordam and none of the members of the research team got sick. (Not counting hangovers.) It could just be a coincidence, but why risk it?

So, I guess anyone wondering about the "Code" status probably need wonder no more- my guess is that it stays in effect.

I'm 53 and have never crapped on the floor. My parents are 81 and 84, they never have either. We've all had the flu multiple times. If that's true why wouldn't you go in your pants?
