A "BOATLOAD" of Casino Rate Prices available

Recommended Posts

What is the phone number AND email for the players club or ocean player club? I looked at my carnival casino offers but they weren't any less expensive than the price I booked for our July 13 sailing -- even if that was one of the carnival sailing I could use my casino offer on. . .seems like I only got $50 off the posted price.

I also got an email for a casino offer from princess for one specific cruise (which we can't do). . .so I tried calling the number listed (press __ for carnival and press __ for princess) and waited 45 minutes so I hung up.

I would like to either call -- or email if someone will actually read my email and get back to me-- as to the rates and prices on some cruises I have already booked , and another potential cruise that I would book of the price is right.

It is indeed curious how this all "works." Just got off the Legend - premier players club cruise. Had some really good luck and accumulated over 10,000 points. On the last night of the cruise casino folks distributed envelopes to players containing substantial discount offers. My companion got one and it was her first cruise. My letter said that since I already had a cruise booked (new years) I should call the players club before sailing. I suspect the players club cant/won't offer a deal to players that might prompt a cancellation in favor of a much better rate. Downside to booking early I guess.

According to the Funville Forums, someone called the OPC and found out that 1 point = $2.50 played in the slots and 1 point = $5 played in video poker, so you'd have to spend about $2500 in slot play (house money, your money, whatever) in order to meet the 10000 point requirement to be enrolled in OPC, which has to happen before you start receiving offers. IMHO, since I shudder at the thought of putting that much at risk, I'd rather buy my own drinks and cruise - because those "free" drinks = $3750 in play.

Exactly, There is no such thing as a free lunch. You are paying for those so called free drinks. For the life of me I can not see how people think they are getting free drinks but on the other hand it is their money so if that's what how people want to spend it ,just go for it.

So in other words you may get 500-1000 off of your cruise then you lose 2-3000 in the casino. Good Deal!!

I really don't look at it that way. I take $500 to use as entertainment money. That's all gambling is for me. I don't spend money on shore excursions or specialty restaurants. I don't buy stuff in the gift shop either.

On most (but admittedly not all) of my cruises, I win enough back to pay off a substantial portion of my S&S charges. In 2008 I was on 3 cruises and won a total of $5500 that I walked off the ship with. It paid for our next 3 cruises in 2009. Many times I've left the ship with my original $500 in my pocket and a zero balance on my S&S card.

I did call my PVP yesterday and left a message about the rate drop, it was a $30pp savings. I got an email confirmation today that he got me the rate drop, BUT.........and there is always a but..........taxes and fees went up $20, so total savings to us is $40 off our balance........

Just trying to understand what the "magic point level" is in order to see some benefits via the casino (which might still remain out of reach unless I can convince my wife it might be "worth it" to play a little longer (even if we are only breaking even), just to accrue more casino points.)

I gambled 2 cruises ago and just maybe 100 bucks and got offers twice. Never offered a free cabin yet, but have been offered the casino promotion with cash over and over. Used it to book the last one for almost nothing. Last cruise I didn't even gamble, but used my card to help someone win in the cash cube. The offer was in my VIFP before I even went on that sailing so ..... No idea how many points are magic for free, but obviously not much for almost free

Just went on and saw that I have the new 45% off offer plus casino cash. (already had the Premier cruise offer) Unfortunately, the sailings only run thru the end of January. Hopefully they'll put up another for my Feb. sailing!

I gamble at the same level I used to before they had the drinks on us program. Back then I had to pay for my drinks in the casino. Now that they have the drinks on us program I no longer pay for drinks in the casino.

IOW I am not doing anything differently than I did before and I am not spending money on drinks.

On our last cruise my wife and I played Blackjack everytime the casino was opened. It was a seven day cruise. Between the two of us we lost right around $600.00 of our own money (they had given us $1000.00 in casino cash.) When we reviewed our sail and sigh account we had received over 60 "free' drinks in the casino. BTW that $600.00 includes tipping for those cocktails and tipping the dealers.

Even if we had lost $1600.00 of our money that was a boatload of fun and drinks for the cost.

To sum it up we are no longer paying for something that we used to pay for. I guess the same could be said for a free cabin. No, you are still paying port tax, tips and parking.

i have been getting the regular casino rate offers and the premier casino offers the past couple of years from carnival; however, this year i have only received the premier casino offers. That's still all i see today.

I have a carnival cruise already booked for september, but like some of the others have stated, it is looking more and more worthwhile to check out norwegian since carnival doesn't seem interested in my casino business.

agree

When I called for our win/loss statement yesterday, I mentioned that we were booked for a cruise leaving in less than 2 weeks (paid full fare again) and no mention or offer to even check for OBC or anything else. It seemed that the $551 loss wasn't enough to have her interested enough to check for or offer any OBC. :-(

Am I not aggressive enough in "point blank" asking, or (in your opinion) have I not reached the level of play that warrants awards? I played slots and did max bet on most every machine for hours, multiple days. Reached drinks-on-us by day 2 or 3, and hit some pretty big (comparatively speaking) jackpots on several machines and played it right back in ($400 payout on one machine) and no offers of anything.

One thing that might be messing me up - I booked multiple people under my original email address (senior citizens that aren't tech savvy, I managed their bookings for them, using my email address.) not sure if that might have skewed my account somehow, but I switched my email last year for my VIFP to my work email to see if that might help.

If you don't have an offer showing, then YES...ask them point blank when you call the Player's Club if you have anything available. That's what I always do. Offers and "what's available" to you are two different animals. ;)

I have to start drinking more! I think I had around 15 drinks from my Drinks on Us card!:p:D

That works out to about 5 drinks each per day. Considering how much time we spent in the casino that isn't really all that many drinks.

The player rankings and rewards are a big mystery. I will be first to say that anyone playing for rewards from WHEREVER they play is probably going to be unhappy. I will give my exact numbers and rewards from my S&S account, but following it exactly probably won't get you the same rewards. I had never gambled until my third cruise. I play only roulette on the 7-to-1 or 5-to-1 lanes that cover 1/3 of the board. I didn't even know about the players club.

Cruise 3: Took $100 cash, playing minimum $5 spins a few hours per sea day, finished the week with $139.

Cruise 4: Had received a mailer a few months prior for $75 in fun chips to be used on any future cruise. Those chips were gone in 10 minutes. Took $500 travelers checks, playing usually $25 spins a few hours every day, finished with $235. The pit boss after the second day offered me a drink a few times. Third day on arrival to the casino received a free drinks card. Received choc strawberries and bottle of wine one day. On the last day of the cruise, received a letter in the mailbox that said I had already book a future cruise and should call within 7 days to see comps on next cruise. Got home and had a premier cruise letter already in the mail. Changed my rate code on that existing sailing and got about $300 off existing rate and $500 casino cash.

Cruise 5 (premier cruise): On arrival to casino, received free drinks card and 5! $100 bills counted out in my hand. Two bottles of wine, strawberries, desserts, cooler, beach towels, etc...premier cruise stuff. Had a $1000 gambling budget in travelers checks. Playing $44 minimum spins for a few hours everyday, ran out of the $500 by day 6. I remember at one point having $1300 from their initial $500. Finished with $700.

Cruise 6 (upcoming): Received a mailer from the players club for a free cabin. I have no plans to play anything in the casino as of now. I had fun gambling, but part of the fun was doing it only once per year. I feel gambled out after having taken 2 cruise so close together and another one coming so soon.

I have lost a total of about $560 of my money in their casino as my entertainment. I have no idea how many points that was per cruise. I would have done that with or without comps. I guess some can feel I was paying for my comps and free cabin. Certainly, I wouldn't be going on this upcoming cruise if it weren't for the free cabin offer. But they feel like nice gifts to me for doing what I would normally do. Funny thing is, I don't drink. I use my free drink card to sometimes get other people at the table drinks.

I took your advice and called... Got $25 in cash waiting at the cage when we board our cruise this weekend.... Free is good (and I was expecting him to say sorry, you got nothin'), and just maybe they'll have me on their radar now.

That's not the case for everyone. We were offered two free cruises last year on BOTH of our numbers. We took ourselves and our kids for port charges/taxes only. The second one was an 8 day on the Breeze with connecting balcony rooms. It's been a GREAT reward program for us. ;):D

Ditto, it works for us.
