Well, the Captain is a pretty reliable source! Maybe it will be different on the Freedom Class. More cabins....less WJ.....Yikes!

Sent from my iPad using Forums
I think that a Captain would be the first to tell you that he is often the last to know!

But no triple points, Carolyn! ;) I only paid for a JS upgrade on one of them, and that was the one with my daughter, so "only" double points on that one still. :D
Casey Pelter is scheduled to become the new CD as you disembark on Sunday. Could you ask someone on the activities staff if they know how long he will be on FOS?
Maricela thinks that Casey is coming on board NEXT week and will then be on for the usual four months.
Bob, they are EXACTLY what everyone else has reported from upgraded systems:

$189.95 ($190) for unlimited, one device.

$229 for unlimited, two devices.

$60 for one 24 hour period, unlimited use.

$30 for an hour of use, usable over any period of time.

You can no longer buy "just minutes". If you are using an hour and it is "up", you are kicked off. No more "just another minute". You would have to buy another hour.
Thx for the info, Merion_Mom. Enjoy your cruise!
Mine faces starboard. Does it matter?

Thanks for the congratulations. That's a one level upgrade, in case you didn't realize. :)
Just wondered about the beds as we do like it when my hubby is closest to the couch/balcony as he gets up MUCH earlier than I.

One level or up to Owners suite doesn't matter . . . ANYTHING free is a nice surprise and a ¡WOW! :D Edited by Tropicalgal2

If you are on the Western itinerary, have any warnings been given for the stop in Labadee? THE CDC has issued warnings especially for Haiti for this mosquito born virus.

We sail soon and I am concerned since my very young granddaughters are sailing with us.

Thanks.
Here we go:

Entire night club is going bye-bye.

Deck 3 will be filled with passenger cabins.

;)
What night club are you talking about? Does this mean the On Air Club will be gone? The karaoke booths?

I hope not.....:( Edited by aloha43

That's not the night club. The On Air Club is the On Air Club.

The night club is The Crypt. You currently access the top level from a sliding door on Deck 4 port side, outside the Schooner Bar, between the Schooner and the entrance to the Casino. You access the area on Deck 3 from either port or starboard, at the elevators.
Thanks for all the updates. I can't wait til Feb. This is my 2nd cruise ever, and my 2nd on Freedom. This upcoming cruise will be the first aft balcony (10th floor.) Your live updates are a little like living vicariously until we can go for ourselves in Feb.! When we did book 2 aft balconies that became available, we were originally told that the divider could indeed be opened, as staff do this for cleaning on all balconies. However, reading everything on here it says afts don't open. If you see your steward, would you be willing to confirm that there isn't a way? (I know the don't slide like the other ones, but wondering how they supposedly open for cleaning like RC originally told me...I'm sure they were mistaken, but till just holding out false hope, lol.)Thanks again for answering questions!! Hope you are having a fabulous time!
I doublechecked last night. On my particular balcony, one side is solid metal. The other is solid (well, two panels) glass, and absolutely does not move.

The balconies are actually cleaned from the outside of the balconies, not the inside. :) Edited by Merion_Mom
Carol, hope you're enjoying your trip. Great cabin back there...we sailed in one of the aft JS our first cruise with the boys on Liberty back in 2007. Loved it.

I had posted this quite a while ago and it must have gotten lost since no one answered, but can you confirm, if possible, that the $8 rate for younger kids in the specialty dining requires them to eat off the new kids menu being offered? I called C&A when no one responded and they told me that if my 12 yo pays $8, he must eat from the kids menu you posted a few weeks ago. Since he wants the filet, he won't eat from that menu and therefore he will cost me $35 in Chops. Too much for a skinny 12 yo eater. Since we'll be on Freedom on 8/24 I'd like to know their policy directly.

Thanks!
I had a VERY interesting chat with the Maitre D' of Chops tonight, on your behalf.

I will paraphrase what he said, "We will do everything that we can to make every patron happy. We have filet mignon for the children. We know that a child won't eat as much but may like certain foods. We will make everyone happy."

Sounds like he can have whatever he wants for a children's price!
Would love to know what time the gym opens as my husband is a very early riser. Also, times and prices for yoga classes? Thanks so much for any info! :D
Ok, Peachy, I went to the spa after the show tonight.

They already have things set up for next week's western itinerary, so the schedule is for that. I will scan and post the whole thing when I get home.

But here are some prices:

Pathway to yoga - $12
Group boxing - $15
Indoor cycling - $12
Body Sculpt Boot Camp - $35
Pathway to Pilates - $12
Beach Boot Camp (on Labadee; don't know if they do the same thing on CocoCay, but I would bet that they do) - $30
Yoga on the Beach - $12

They add EIGHTEEN PER CENT GRATUITY to each one.

Most of these are offered more than once during the week. There are also "free" sessions of stuff like stretching, fab abs, circuit training, total body conditioning.

See above in Black
I was referring/explaining about being "delayed a week". Donna originally posted that Casey would be boarding at your disembarkation. While you were sailing, another poster stated that he would be boarding a week later. I understood the four months and have already informed Donna K in her Current CD thread. Thanks for taking the time in answering everyone's questions.
