Here is a big surprise:

My package is still active!!!!

I am sitting in Vintages until I disembark.

There is virtually no cell reception in here, so I tried to log on, and BOOM! It works! ;). :D
Thanks for all your greats answers and comments. Hope you can survive on land until Sept. 7;)
That's not the night club. The On Air Club is the On Air Club.

The night club is The Crypt. You currently access the top level from a sliding door on Deck 4 port side, outside the Schooner Bar, between the Schooner and the entrance to the Casino. You access the area on Deck 3 from either port or starboard, at the elevators.
Thanks! That makes me feel better.

We hope you had a marvelous trip!

(5 weeks....we're jealous! We only have 525 days to go for ours.)

Hello, this is my first time posting and I hope I am doing it right?? We are travelleing on Freedom of the Seas on 7th Sept for 7 night western carribean cruise. It is our first time cruising and will be our honeymoon. I have a few questions I am hoping you can help me with.
I am considering whether to get a drinks package or not - how much is a soda/water/beer/wine on board?
We are travelling from Ireland and stopping in NYC and Orlando also, do we really need to bring formal clothes - are there other options restaurant wise for the formal night?
We have booked an interior stateroom as we plan on not spending much time in the room - too many things to see and do! we are on deck 9, does anybody know if this deck is ok noise wise?
Any tips and advise for us first time cruisers would be greatly appreciated. Beyond excited now, only 28 days to go! :D

Thanks!!
Ok, Peachy, I went to the spa after the show tonight.

They already have things set up for next week's western itinerary, so the schedule is for that. I will scan and post the whole thing when I get home.

But here are some prices:

Pathway to yoga - $12
Group boxing - $15
Indoor cycling - $12
Body Sculpt Boot Camp - $35
Pathway to Pilates - $12
Beach Boot Camp (on Labadee; don't know if they do the same thing on CocoCay, but I would bet that they do) - $30
Yoga on the Beach - $12

They add EIGHTEEN PER CENT GRATUITY to each one.

Most of these are offered more than once during the week. There are also "free" sessions of stuff like stretching, fab abs, circuit training, total body conditioning.
Thanks so much! We are doing the Western so that is perfect! Eighteen % gratuity

Merion Mom, I take it that since you've booked another week on Freedom, you enjoyed the ship? Anything in particular that you would consider a must, and anything you would pass on?

I'll also be sailing on FOS 9/7. It can't get here soon enough!
I doublechecked last night. On my particular balcony, one side is solid metal. The other is solid (well, two panels) glass, and absolutely does not move.

The balconies are actually cleaned from the outside of the balconies, not the inside. :)
Thanks for double checking!!!
I came to this thread too late but was wondering if you know if there is a Chef's table on board Freedom. Thanks for all the information you posted.

Just to be clear, for ALL readers of this thread: the side balconies DO have dividers that open. As a matter of fact, as I was disembarking, I saw the workers walk most of the length of the ship, from balcony to balcony to balcony to balcony.........etc., etc., etc.

It is only the AFT cabins that have fixed balcony walls.

Carol, do you know if I can order any beer with the Diamond voucher or is it limited to the same beers in the DL?

EVERYTHING about the voucher program is supposed to be exactly like the lounge, so same brands of beer.

YOU may find a bartender somewhere who may break/bend the rules for you, but don't be surprised or disappointed if they won't.

I really like having Sabor and Izumi on the Freedom. Sad to lose Portofino, and curious as to why Cupcake Cupboard is going away. Is this only on the Freedom or will it be phased out from all the ships?

Before Freedom's next dry dock, Oasis is going through that, we will see if anything happens to their Cupcake place. It seemed well utilized on Freedom and the cupcake making classes were well attended from what I saw on Allure.

If you are on the Western itinerary, have any warnings been given for the stop in Labadee? THE CDC has issued warnings especially for Haiti for this mosquito born virus.

We sail soon and I am concerned since my very young granddaughters are sailing with us.

Thanks.

We are just off the Explorer where we visited several of the islands that the CDC named in their report. We traveled with our 2 yr old and 6 yr old granddaughters. Before sailing, I purchased Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus. It contains Picaridin, which the CDC recommends but it is safe to put on young children. Be sure to put on their sunblock first and then the bug repellant.

Have a great cruise.

MM, I see you were eastern, but somebody said you booked an extra week? Do you have any western compasses?

My extra week isn't happening for five weeks. So I don't have the western Caribbean Compasses.

Now, I DID sail FOS B2B in September, and when I get home , I will look for them (but I suspect that was during my stop-saving-everything phase).

No worries. I have some from March, but am over-eager, and wanted to see if anything has changed ^_^

Thanks though!

Oh, did they end up taking the wine taps/ dispensers out of Vintages?

"Bob, they are EXACTLY what everyone else has reported from upgraded systems:

$189.95 ($190) for unlimited, one device.

$229 for unlimited, two devices.

$60 for one 24 hour period, unlimited use.

$30 for an hour of use, usable over any period of time."

You can no longer buy "just minutes". If you are using an hour and it is "up", you are kicked off. No more "just another minute". You would have to buy another hour.

Don't think I like this idea..........so in order to use it everyday on a 7 night cruise,I basically have to buy the unlimited.OR a bunch of $30 deals for an hour at a time:mad:

"Oh, another change that they have already made:

The area next to the Café Promenade, which on Liberty and Independence is the Loyalty Ambassador's office/Future Cruise Booking area, is a Britto store.

Gotta keep increasing that onboard spending!"

The Britto store has been there awhile already..I remember cruising on FR in 2011 and my friend buying something there..

Thanks for the report ............I just booked the FR for August 17th for my birthday!! Love last minute deals..:D
