Anthem of the Seas Construction

Recommended Posts

Just spotted this photo posted by David Pogue who co-hosted with Richard Fain on August 25. He is illustrating the scale of the ship section.

That's a great photo. It's made me wonder. Are there bow thrusters on both port and starboard? Or are they the same thrusters, that spin in opposite directions depending on the desired movement?

With the four bow thrusters, two are facing port side and the other two starboard side. If you zoom in to some or the recent photos of this section you can see the direction of the blades.

On smaller ships that only have one bow thruster, the direction is reversed to give the push for port or starboard movement.

Great photo and illustration to point out the sheer size of these things.

May I ask what the other ship in front of Anthem is ? Hope I did not oversee a post explaining this

Is this Q3 ?

Meyer Werft is going to lay Norwegian Escape's keel there soon. We wait for the official ceremony. She is going to be built out of two mega blocks, just like Anthem of the Seas.

Delivery is scheduled for autumn 2015.

Don't intend to get too much OT:

So when will Q3 be started in which building ?

Any updates on Q4, especially if she is finally confirmed ? Guess not ...

The start of steel cutting for Q3 was planned for the media event a few weeks ago. I have no idea why they haven't done it yet.

Well, Q4 is a special topic. We will see if and when RCI will confirm it.

Thanx. So I did remember Q3 timing correctly and I did not get totally brain-dead finally along waiting for Q3+4 as well as O3+4 ;)

I would have wished that Q3 comes right after AoS same as AoS did after QoS ... also as more capacity hopefully brings the prices further down.

An NCL Escape engine with Anthem of the Seas in background.

Once again thanks to the NCL ships we get another glimpse of a Quantum class build inside Hall 6. Anthem seems to be coming along fine and looks good. Thanks Lloyd

Edit: Did you notice the Anthem top bow section (also in blue) right behind the NCL Escape engine block?

Only two more blocks need to be assembled to Anthem for completion of the steel construction in two or three days.

This is how she looked like a few hours ago:

Meanwhile work on Norwegian Escape has also started at Meyer Werft.

Great photos. Construction progressing at a good pace.

Wonder what the aft end is looking like with Two70 attached?

Thanks for the photos. Does it appear that they are ahead of schedule?
