We have!!!!!! Absolutely amazing! My husband and I did the Med. cruise out of Rome in June. Next time we do it we will leave from Barcelona. You will have a fabulous time! We are planning on doing it again in about 2 years. Infact, we loved Liberty so much we're going back on her in June out of Bayonne to the Caribbean. I do fear that the Caribbean won't have anything on the south of France. Everyone told me that once you do the med. you never want to go anywhere else. It's true!

We'll be on her Sept 21st out of Barcelona (can't believe it's so close) Anything specific you want to know? I will do my best to watch out for. We will probably not be using the MDR and don't drink alchohol (gasp) But anything else I will try to help out with!!

I do know a family that was on the Liberty last July and was very pleaded with their cruise!

Hello all,

Long story short, my wife and 8 year old son and I have sailed on Disney Dream twice and it was VERY popular with the family. So much so that we booked a 7 day on Magic while we were still onboard last year. As the time approached we realized we needed to reschedule the cruise and the only time that would work for everyone was spring break of 2015. The price for our Disney cruise ballooned to over $6500. None of us was really excited about another 4 day on Dream, so I am considering a 5 day on Liberty of the Seas.

I am concerned about a few things. We have never sailed RCCL before although my wife and I have been on Carnival a few times pre-baby.

- I am concerned about the quality of the kids club compared to Disney.

- I am worried the 8YO will be bored

- I am worried about crowds (ship and island) and especially any drunk college kids and inappropriate behavior

- i am worried about perceived quality of the product compared to Disney

- I am concerned about whether we will be impacted by smokers (didn't see much on Disney but assumed that since this ship is geared more towards adults and has a casino there might be more)

Also, wife and boy are wondering what there is to do in the kids club if he doesn't want to participate in group activities? Are there toys, play areas, video games, etc??

Does anyone have any pictures of the 6-8 year old kids club on Liberty? Can't find any online. How does it compare to Disney?

Having a tough time getting excited about this trip.

I wonder if you could share your spring break or other holiday experiences on Liberty and either confirm or alleviate my fears.

Thanks in advance!

I don't expect you to have much trouble with smoking. The only places where smoking is allowed inside are the casino and cigar bar, which is a closed space. Outside is one side of decks 4, 11, and 12. So if you stay on one side outside and out of the casino, you should be fine.

There is an arcade up near the kids club area. There is also a pool area just for kids (our 5 year grandson enjoyed it) as well as miniature golf, ping pong, shuffle board, a rock climbing wall and, not sure if he is old enough but there is the Flowrider.

Also, Liberty will have the DreamWorks characters out and about at various times if he likes stuff like that.

Spring Break will be crowded, lots of teenagers/college age but also lots of kids, so he will have others to play with. I've always read Adventure Ocean is really good for kids but we've never used it.

We haven't been on Liberty yet but have it booked for next fall. I had the same concerns as you a few months back when this all came about so I offer you my thread that assuaged it all for us. Hope that helps!

We took the Liberty TA from FLL to Barcelona in May of this year and loved it soo much that we are bringing her back with you in October. The crew is the best we've experienced with RCCL. The ship had many things scheduled throughout the day. The most relaxing cruise we've ever taken. See you on board....

sailed on Liberty last March.....we loved the ship however only one dislike....were not impressed with the CL lounge which was in a small very overcrowded enclosed room very dark no windows.

the DL made up for the dark & gloomy CL....it was open with many windows providing panoramic views with door access to a deck with a few tables....loved it.

enjoy your voyage aboard Liberty.....:)
